Super friendly service, a cool laid-back, almost divey vibe, Elvis pictures on the walls, and quite possibly the best freaking burger I've ever had. When we walked in, my kid looked around and told me there was absolutely no chance she would have ever picked a place like this on her own, but that it was clearly perfect for me. Fair. Then she ate the burger. By the time we finished, she was just as thrilled as I was and informed me, "This is why I keep you around." High praise from a daughter. Phillips Grocery is exactly the kind of place I love finding. No frills, tons of character, friendly people, and a ridiculously good burger. We'll be back. The fries were perfectly cooked--crispy on the outside, soft inside, and served piping hot. There's nothing fancy or "above and beyond" here, but if you're after perfectly cooked comfort food served with genuine friendliness at a bargain price, Little Taste of Chicago is your place.
