this towing company goes on private property thinking that they have authority on private property. when a home owner leases property they have jurisdiction on that property in Texas. a Town company may not come into that private property and tag vehicles that 1. are not expired 2. even if expired due to the law for registration reads the vehicle may not operate on a public roadway. the law doesn't read the tow company may come onto private property to tag your vehicle. I have never been treated so poorly in my life and have never wrote a yelp review, but I wanted to come on here because of how poorly I was treated. Currently staying with friends at College Station while in an apartment complex called Holleman Crossing. Needing a parking pass to acquire a parking spot, so my friends went out of their way to buy me one. Went out to the A&M football and came back to seeing my car not in its previous parking spot. Figured out that R&J Towing company possessed my car. Called someone over the phone and they said if I have proof of the parking pass in the car I will be left off with no fee. Turns out that's not true because I had to pay over $300 for the fee. Lady working at the place didn't even bother making sure of proof. Pathetic. By the way, this place has a disgusting odor and no one there is nice. I have never wrote a yelp review until now because of this horrendous experience. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They are rude, refused to take responsibility for damage done to my truck, hung up on me and now refuses to answer my call! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Towing towed my 2006 Dodge track to my mechanic about 10 days ago. It left with the bed cover on the truck, I even have a picture of it. When I picked up the truck, it was gone. When I contacted R&J Towing about it, the woman who answers their phone, who is always rude, told me she would talk to the driver and get back with me. 5 days later, no call, so I called them. She tried to push the responsibility off on my mechanic saying it must have been stolen in their position. The tow truck driver watched me lock my tailgate. Plus, if the bed cover was stolen, then why was the toolbox filled with tools left behind. The woman said she would talk to the owner of R&J Towing and told me to contact her back in about 3 days. She immediately contact defensive with me when I told her that she said she would call me back after the previous's week's call, denying she said that, got mad, then hung up me! Now she refuses to answer my call. As of posting of this review, nothing has been resolved to replace my $700 bedcover. read more

I want to give zero stars but can't all I can say they towed my daughters car on the first week of living in her new apartment. It was her fourth day working at the law firm she just started at so she had to miss work Uber over there and they wanted $170 to release it. The apartment complex had to get involved and release her car and pay for her Uber to get over there. I'm gonna have her talk to the lawyers she works for about suing them for preying on people. And with just these reviews I think we'll have plenty of evidence and witnesses to their poor behavior and business practices. read more

This company takes advantage of college students and their friends. They look for opportunities to tow cars from College residences. Do not use them or give them your business. My son is paying almost $300 to get his car because it was towed while visiting his college friends for Spring Break. It is a scheme- the only way they can profit to keep their business afloat. Nobody ever wants to deal with a towing company, but we did. R&J towing did a great job getting our son off the side of hwy 6 in navasota during the big snow/ice storm on 2/14/21. Despite the horrible weather they got him within walking distance of his college station apartment after a frightening rollover accident. They went above and beyond to get him his forgotten apartment keys during the worst of the storm. They were polite & helpful as we retrieved personal belongings before the totaled car was taken away. R&J towing did a fabulous job helping us out during the big storm of 2021. Their fee for towing and storage were very reasonable! I hope we never need to use a towing service again. But if we do- I hope they are as polite & helpful as R&J! We highly recommend their services! read more

Had another bad encounter with R&J towing this week. I came home from class and got ready for work and when I walked out of my apartment to drive to my job and my car was not in the spot I had parked an hour prior. I called R&J to ask why my car was picked up, because I am a resident of my apartment complex with a valid parking sticker, and they told me I was towed for my expired registration. They explained how they put a sticker on my car to let me know ahead of time, but the sticker I got on my car was dated August 17th and my car was towed October 22. After I got the sticker on my car I brought it to my apartment office where they explained they DO NOT tow for expired registration and said that was a mistake from the towing company and to not worry about it! After bringing up this issue with my apartment manager, It took over 24 hours for something to be worked out with the towing company to where my car gets released, and in that time I missed almost half a shift at work and a full day of classes. Some additional issues were the amount of beer bottles seen not only in the tow trucks but also scattered everywhere inside the office, and the fact the two men who released my car brought up the previous time they towed and picked fun at how upset I was a year ago during that scenario. Overall just the worst. I hate that these people monitor my apartment complex and don't even know what cars they're supposed to leave and tow. All of them are super slimy, super shady, and overall just the worst. read more

There was no where to park in their parking lot except for a small space near the front and she comes out and has an attitude with us yelling "you can't park there!". I got towed from the parking spot at my apartment which I park everyday. I have a parking sticker & everything, with no indication or communication from my apartment that I could not be parked there. I was looking for my car & saw another one getting towed from next to me & the tow truck driver was extremely rude & offered no help or explanation as to what happened besides saying the apartment sent out an email saying not to park there (they never did, even the office said they did not). Needless to say the front office lady had to come get me & take me to the tow yard to get my car, luckily I didn't have to pay. Just a complete waste of two hours, had to miss class to deal with their mistake & drive 20 minutes back to the apartment with gas that could've been used for something better. read more

I was told that a flat bed would be coming because my BMW required one, and the driver came in the wrong truck. Had to drive all the way back to get another truck. I asked to be transported to my destination with the driver and that message was not given to the driver so I had to wait in the cold by myself in the dark at 9 pm to wait for someone to pick me up. The driver came without a mask and was coughing. Didn't feel safe giving the keys to my driver. Communication within the customer service team is unreliable. 11/10 would never recommend and will never use again. read more

R&J Towing is an unethical company. They towed my car from a Visitors spot at Z Islander apartments. An employee of the apartment complex meet me at my car and told me that they had towed it even though it was clearly in the visitors spot. The apartment complex told me that they had contacted them and they were bringing the car back and that the driver was supposedly new!! The apartment complex also said that they have had ongoing issues with R &J Towing towing cars that are parked legally. We waited 45 minutes and my car was not returned. I called the tow company and and got an extremely rude women who said it was illegal to return a car that had been towed and I had to come and pick it up. She hung up on me!! I had to drive to get my car that they knew they illegally towed and she was beyond rude. Of course I didn't have to pay because it was towed illegally!! I was towed 2 weeks prior by another tow company and I was parked illegally and I went and paid my fee and lesson learned. There are plenty of cars parked illegally in a college town to tow. I visited a friend to pick her up from Holleman Crossing and got towed in the 10mins it took for me to get her from her apartment and walk her out since things in College Station have been scary lately and I wanted to ensure her safety. They towed my car and it turns out they just changed management but have been terrible to update clients. The man towing was about to drive away when I said I needed to call my parents since I didn't have enough money to pay everything right away. They charged me $135 just for having my car hooked up, not even leaving the parking lot yet. Super condescending and threatened that if I didn't pay then that I would have an up-charge and have to pay $300 something to get it out. 100% would not recommend! read more

Omg I love Paulette even though I was parked in the wrong place and they towed my car. She worked hard to help me get it back after understanding and hearing what I was going through. Let's not forget to mention that I had to Uber to the towing place and my silly self forgot the key to my car at home and instead of making me and my 4yr old walk she gave us a ride home and back to the car. This company is extremely predatory! They pulled my car from my apartment because my parking tag wasn't visible, but didn't pull my neighbor's cars that didn't have them visible (One even had a guest with no tag and she wasn't towed). And, the lies!!! They lied and said the property management specifically directed them to pull cars that evening, which they didn't. They also said they pulled 10 cars, which they didn't, and that we had 7 stolen cars in our tiny lot, which isn't true either. My front wheels apparently didn't spin, so they just dragged it out of the spot; causing my power steering and traction control alarms to go off when I started the car. read more
