I know they've all been super busy but no one was answering their lines for future business! He made the process very easy - came out the next day after I asked if he worked on dryrot. We looked over the pest inspection together, and he provided an estimate. I really appreciated how clearly he communicated from the beginning - if any factors changed, he made sure to check in with me so there were no surprises in the final cost. He finished the work in a couple days and even worked extra hours (it became quite dark and I had to tell him to go home!) because he knew it was going to rain the next day, so he wanted to get the work complete. I made contact with Roberto and discussed my need to replace a door. We had an extensive discussion about what I was looking for, when I needed it done, and other supporting tasks. He understood that the door removal and replacement needed to be the same day so I would have a lockable door at the end of that day. This was very clear. The stucco and trim could be done the next day or he could do it all the same day. He was very enthusiastic and felt he could do the whole job in one day. He asked me to text him my phone number and address which I did immediately after the call. We had an agreement to meet Friday at 9 AM at the house. It's not my house so I had to drive an hour and a half to get there to make this appointment. He never showed up. He never called to say he would be late. First of all, I would like to compliment Roberto because he picked up the phone immediately when I called. He had a sense of urgency to come out and give us an estimate on some stucco patching repairs the same day. When he got the full nature of our problem, he gave me professional advice that the stucco was not really our problem, and we had a drainage problem. He then came into the house and talked to the men who were fixing our mold problem in the kitchen. The three of them discussed what was going on, and Roberto then gave me the professional advice to get the drainage fixed. That is not something he does. I found Roberto here on Yelp (thank-you Yelpers!) and I initially hired him to do various repairs at my house including what looked like a leak that was going into the stucco. Well the first time didn't fix everything on the leak so when he came back a second time he only charged me for materials which I appreciated. Other jobs he's done for me include fence repair, wood transom repair and paint, replacing broken tile on the roof and securement. When I wanted him to look at repairing and repainting all the trim on my house, he told me I would be better off hiring someone who had the equipment and expertise for that. I had Roberto come out to fix a pipe that was leaking under my sink and seeping water through the wall. He quoted me what seemed like fair prices, ranging from the best to worst case scenarios. He wasn't pushy or trying to sneak in extra/unnecessary work to the job. He answered all my questions in a way I could understand--because clearly this was a job I was not equipped to handle myself. On the day of the job, he was clean and respectful of my home, even vacuumed up the floors beyond his work space. What stood out for me, also, was that he showed me a hose--unrelated to the job--that had a minor, slow drip. I told him that I could handle it on my own, but since he found it, he said he didn't feel good about leaving it for me (even as simple as it was) and took care of it. It added maybe another 5 minutes to the job, and I appreciated his thoroughness. The ONLY reason I clicked 4 and not 5 stars was his timing. He was 15 minutes late to the time we agreed upon for the estimate, and he called about 2 hours before the job and pushed back his start time another 2 hours (which was fine for me at the time). I highly recommend Roberto who just got my husband and I out of a jam. We purchased a refrigerator from IKEA and accepted next day delivery. We were excited for our fridge to come, but when it did the delivery men told us that they do not install it. It was left in our living room with all of the packaging still on and with a wooden pallet screwed into the bottom of the almost 200 lb refrigerator! I am 8 months pregnant so my husband was pretty much left to deal with this on his own. I called and ask if he works on a gable vent on my attic. He ask is your house one story and I replied yes. He told me he will be there in an hour and I said sure I will see you in an hour. Roberto introduces himself and I showed him where the vent was, I asked him if he can also replace it with a new fan because the old one does not work. Roberto then goes outside and starts measuring and he told me he will find the parts and text me the price. Next day he texted me $1000 for parts and labor and I was like how much will it be if just a regular gable vent without the fan and he said $400. So then I realized why don't I check at homedepot see if they have it.
