The very next day, Big Boy's did a VERY thorough walk through and had a detailed bid to us within 24 hours. We got two other estimates for backup and NEITHER if those companies were as detailed and thorough as Big Boy's. One far underbid the job, and the other didn't take proper notes about our fragile items. Priced in the mid to upper mid range, we felt that the bid was very fair considering there would be an overnight involved and a 6 hour drive. I was so incredibly nervous about loading day from experiences with previous moves that I left my husband with the team to help and supervise and I left early. It took twice as long to load as it took to unload. Why you may ask? Because Big Boy's took extraordinary caution to pad, cushion, and wrap each furniture item individually and thoroughly. I have two very long Chesterfield leather sofas and they arrived without so much as a dimple. The team Robert, Brice, Mike, and Quinton were so professional and took extra care with all of our items. They had extra supplies on hand for clothing, and even wrapped a flower pot so it wouldn't break. I really can't express what a great job they did. Two days, two trucks, 4 guys, and one successful move!! Thanks for your great service!!! You made this so easy for us.

My move in date was Tuesday August 13th, so I went with BBM thinking it was the best affordable option. Shelby was very communicative and friendly and helped in my decision making. The movers arrived at my apartment on 11401 Dr MLK Street N at 2:40pm and finished loading up at 3:15pm. The only large/heavy items were my sofa and queen bed. The rest of things were 5 large and medium artificial plants, a chest of drawers on wheels and a wooden footlocker. The did forget a large and heavy plant. My moving destination was less than a mile away at 11601 4th street N #801. Both apartments on the first floor and two minutes apart. The time for unloading was just 20 minutes. It was a very light move but I was too tired from working overnight to do this with a UHaul. My initial thought was that I would need only to spend roughly $300, including the (minimum) two at $129 x2. However, I was charged $567. I didn't understand was meant by the drive back charges, etc until after the fact. I wanted to leave a cash tip for the guys but I was so tired and forgot. I'm fortunate to have done so as the financial crunch really hit me hard soon after. This was not fair to me. Please ask yourself if this is good honest business practice. I chose BBM because I was happy with the response time and what I thought was a great and affordable rate. I was disappointed. I wish the exact total costs were communicated with clarity and any discount offers were made. There was a $100 discount on the website. I didn't know this because I went straight off of google to contact you. I don't know what can be done now that would make me feel better but please take my situation into consideration. Ps. And of course, they will tell you that they clarified the rates with you but they know this is not true.

I called Weiss and they seemed responsive and professional on the phone. They were also capable of starting the job right away. The guys at the office seemed nice enough, but I think because the job was so small, one of them decided to joke around a bit which I found irritating. Basically when I asked how much to have the two doors done, the rep decided to break out a calculator and punch in numbers for like 2 whole minutes until I said something to the effect of "Wow, that's a whole lot of calculating your doing there for 2 doors." Then he stopped, looked at the doors for a moment (almost like he was making up his mind on the spot) and gave me a price. I mention this because another reviewer posted something about a smart comment made to them, and it seems like maybe they think they are comedians too? Anyway, they said 2 weeks for the doors and it took almost 4. One door also has some odd and obvious change in the pattern of wood that is very noticeable since the color and pattern are significantly different from the rest of the door. It almost looks like they patched the wood, but I am hoping some staining will hide this OBVIOUS imperfection. I am glad they did this small job for me and I was also happy with the price. It would be nice if they were more professional, met their own deadlines and paid a little more attention to detail. I would consider going back, but only after shopping around a bit.
