On my recent visit with a brand-new Cadillac, they drained the oil and then told me I needed to replace the oil drain plug for $15. This struck me as odd, since I've owned 15 new cars and never once been told that before. I questioned the manager, but she insisted it was necessary or at least highly recommended for safe operation. Later, two Cadillac mechanics confirmed that my plug was in perfect condition and only ever needs replacement if damaged. The part itself costs around $1.25, so being pressured into a $15 charge felt dishonest. When I called back, the manager acknowledged my loyalty but said the general manager refused to issue a refund. To me, this looks like a predatory upsell and not genuine customer service. After years of trust, I can no longer recommend this shop.

I told her that I only wanted $50 on pump 3, but she said the card's already been run... For $38 -- and NOT much gas -- imagine my surprise when my credit card showed a $175 charge. I called the station and spoke with the owner, who assured me that charge would drop off my credit in a few days. Well, it's been months now, and the owner insists it's my bank that's at fault (despite me contesting the charges 10 business days after incurring the penalty). Yes, penalty. My bank claims that the fault is Chevron's, and after several phone calls, they sent me a copy of the email sent to Chevron. Chevron insists that it's the gas station that's at fault. So despite many personal, professional appeals to both the Chevron station manager and Chevron, I had to force my bank to release the funds which Chevron has used that doesn't belong to them. Guess they haven't been making enough money.... My attorney wrote three letters, one to Chevron, one to the station manager, and one to my bank. Only my bank responded, removing the fee (I also paid for the $38.08 gas charge which appeared on my card account online the day after getting the gas. The station manager won't talk to me. Chevron got to use $175 of my money for months without paying me interest on the loan, or thanking me. Guess I'll start calling them Chevron stealerships.

I said if you are really closed then you should roll down the bay doors. He said they can't do that yet. I went to Speed Dee on Hatch Road in Ceres, arriving at 5:15 pm. They changed my oil, replaced a cabin air filter and did all the checks and I was gone in a jiffy, so my new oil changing station from now on. I don't get the spending of thousand of dollars in advertising to get people to come in and then send them away?
