Boyfriend needed his chain fixed- the owner saw that a small piece where the clasp is connected, just opened a little bit which caused it to break-- he fixed it up in 5 minutes and didn't charge a cent- we offered and he said "on me, merry christmas" no BS, no lies, no conning us into buying a new one or getting it fixed a different way. I can't speak on what it's like as a buyer here but they offered me $60.00 to buy a white gold diamond engagement ring that was purchased by my ex at Michael Hill in 2016 for $3,000.00 (I have his receipt) and the owner stated he can't imagine anyone would pay that for that and if he did, that my ex got ripped off. He said the reason is the diamond is of poor quality. At another jewelry store that buys jewelry they offered me $40.00 with the reason given that with synthetic diamonds now, apparently real diamonds aren't worth anything anymore. Which is interesting because the same place bought diamond earrings I had off of me for $100.00. There seems to be some kind of script out there to scam people out of their money for selling their engagement rings because they know people are probably eager to get rid of them for emotional/personal reasons. Not cool or right. I can't imagine any alternate reality of anyone buying my engagement ring for anything less than $100.00, the truth is the jeweler would buy it and then turn around and sell it for way, way more, closer to what my ex paid for it 8 years ago ‍ read more
