After finding our quartzite slabs at IRG, we needed a fabricator. We met with a few and decided on R & S and I'm so thankful we did. We worked with Adriana and she was able to retrieve the slabs from IRG and bring them to their shop. Adriana arranged the dates and times and everything went on schedule. When it comes to templating and fabricating the stone, Horacio is amazing!!! He has a real eye for making all of the lines come together to accentuate the stone's natural beauty. We needed an additional slab for some extra work, in addition to the gorgeous round tabletop Horacio designed for our kitchen! They have a really has a great crew that removed existing countertops/backsplash, in additional to assisting with the install. Everyone on their team has been a pleasure to work with and we could not be happier with the quality of their work! We have recommended R & S to a couple of our friends and they have been super happy with their them as well!!! Thank you R & S!!

Once again this company worked their magic. A few years ago they transformed our kitchen into a masterpiece. They did the same this time with our 30 year old bathroom ( see the "Before" & "After" photos!). Just like with our kitchen, I got great design suggestions from their senior estimator, Deborah. For our bathroom, she suggested wisely a quartzite that complements the cultured marble shower walls that were replacing the tan 8" x 8" tiles. Deborah also suggested the color of paint we should use as well as suggesting the matte black paint behind the mirror and toilet as an accent. They have a fabulous fabrication team who do precision work with an extreme attention to detail.

I am so glad to have seen all of the 5-star reviews for R & S Marble and Granite. Having worked with them now, I completely understand why. From start to finish, Adriana and the crew were excellent. The whole project, from selecting the counters and tile, to completion, took less than three weeks. Adriana was incredibly responsive to every question and coordinated everything without a hitch. The demo and installation was easy and painless, and most importantly, my kitchen looks amazing and just like I hoped it would. I highly recommend R & S to anyone looking for a kitchen update. Thank you, Yelp and Adriana!

So surprised to find such a wonderfully efficient and well run business during these rather trying times! As an owner/builder --also a former owner of a stone fabrication shop-- I can't say enough positive words about Horacio, Adriana and the entire team at R&S. Adriana has been incredible, from my initial contact through selecting slabs, my persnickety fabrication requests, and even assisting in procurement of flooring materials from one of her vendors, she's been an invaluable asset in seeing my projects to completion. Horacio's employees all have an excellent attention to detail, are extremely polite and excellent to work with. I am very far from "easy to please," and rarely throw out accolades like this, but it's all so well-deserved, and I'm thrilled to have found a shop like R&S as my go-to for all of my fabrication/ installation needs -- a true rarity indeed!

A few months ago we contacted R&S Marble and granite for a master bathroom quartz install for a large 12 foot shower wall install, bench and niches, as well as a vanity with waterfall edge and a custom transition strip between our bedroom and bathroom barn door. Adriana was very quick to respond and we were so happy with how our install went. The fabricator was amazing, and guys installing the quartz shower were very careful with installing such a large job. The seams look great - can hardly see and the edges are very clean and smooth. The quote was also very reasonable and the guys stayed super late to finish this large install which we appreciate! We will for sure be using them in the future for any work we need done in future bathrooms! Thank you R&S, we love our bathroom.

Calacatta gold porcelain slabs! Beautiful! I could t be happier with the service and work we received. Adriana and Horacio are such a great team. They have excellent communication, show up on time, great pricing, and overall great experience. Remodeling is stressful enough and they made this process so simple and we can't wait to use them again for our bathrooms. Thank you!

This team is AMAZING!! Adriana is the best and helped with everything! Horacio was so responsive and accommodating. I don't know what we would have done without them and couldn't imagine anyone being as helpful and responsive as they were. The best, highly recommend!!

Adriana was an absolute pleasure to work with. I worked with her and her team to replace our kitchen counter tops. She was very thorough and went with me to a showroom to help me pick out the right kitchen counter top. I was so happy with the work they did and would definitely recommend working with them.

    a clean kitchen

A few months ago we decided we wanted a complete remodel of our kitchen including removing two walls. We hired a local kitchen company to do the whole job but we ended up having a very bad experience with them and ended up having to fire them about 3/4th of the way through the job. I contacted R & S Marble and Granite about a week later to get an estimate to install quartz countertops and tile. Adriana the project manager responded to my email quickly and came out a day later. She gave us a very fair estimate and I was so impressed with her professionalism. I wanted 3cm quartz installed instead of the 2cm with wood underneath that the kitchen company was originally going to use. Our contractor we've used for 20 years lowered the sink to make that possible. We live in Livermore so Adriana advised us to go to all the countertop showrooms in Livermore, Dublin, and Hayward but we found out that most quartz doesn't come in 3cm in California. We finally found one that was ok but then we went to the R & S Marble and Granite showroom and when I looked across the room I saw MSI Calacatta Monaco, the most beautiful sample I had seen anywhere. It was exactly what I was looking for and it actually came in 3cm! A very light, soft marble look with very light thin veining and different soft variations and it actually cost less to buy and install then the 2cm the kitchen company was going to use even though the 2cm was also by MSI. I was thrilled! She immediately contacted the company to check availability and it was installed within 2 weeks. The install went great, and they were in and out in about 2 hours. They treated our house as carefully as if it was their own and the countertops ended up looking amazing. Since our original kitchen company didn't order us enough tile, Adriana immediately contacted Arizona Tile to get us the extra tile so that they could install the tile. The tile installers were complete perfectionists and even stayed late to finish the job in one day instead of two and our kitchen was finally completed! My advise is don't use one kitchen company to do all the work on your new kitchen. You really need specialists to do each aspect of the job - especially the countertops and tile! Adriana was always so great with communication and would email me with every detail I needed to know and immediately answered all our questions. We highly recommend this skilled and trustworthy company.

Update: you never really know a business until you navigate an issue with them- we had a challenge with the plumbing install and they went above and beyond to help us out, making time the same day to come back and adjust holes in the counter. Thank you!!

They have good high-end shower walls and counter stone. It's pricey, but the good stuff isn't cheap and the cheap stuff isn't good.

We hired a general contractor and agreed to use all of their selected subcontractors except for a small subset we insisted on selecting ourselves, including Custom Stone. Custom Stone came highly recommended by multiple stone suppliers and other fabricators in the Bay Area. The scope of our stone installation was large and it was critically important that we select a fabricator who had experience with higher-end homes and highest-quality installations. Our scope included a master bathroom consisting of a double vanity, an 8' tall all-slab master shower and an undermounted roman master bathtub; a large kitchen with multiple stone surfaces including a 12' x 9' island; two guest bathrooms with marble slab vanities; a guest bathroom all-slab shower; an all-slab marble surround and hearth for a 42" fireplace; a custom designed and constructed semi-precious slab backlit bar; and an outdoor BBQ counter with Neolith. At the outset of the project, Custom Stone joined us during trips to various stone yards, advised us on the considerations of different materials, and helped us to obtain the most competitive pricing with their relationships. During the fabrication process, Custom Stone sent us multiple detailed design mock-ups and welcomed us to participate in the process. They recently invested in state-of-the-art fabrication equipment and technology that enables Contractors and Owners to see exactly what output they can expect, and to efficiently and flexibly provide input into the design and configuration decisions. For example, their new 3-D Laser measuring system and real-time digital vein-matching software allowed us to approve our slab layout before the fabrication started. Custom Stone's CNC waterjet cutting machine enabled exceptionally precise cuts on the material that we didn't find possible with other fabrication firms, allowing Custom Stone to produce the highest-quality end products for our project. Custom Stone's work is uncontestably one of the highlights of the new home and has significantly enhanced its aesthetic and value. We cannot speak highly enough of their work and the process of working with them. They worked and collaborated well with other trades/subcontractors, offered up creative solutions and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to quality. When we were selecting our stone subcontractor, we considered five (5) criteria in the following stack-ranked order: (1) precision in design and craftsmanship, and attention to detail; (2) knowledge of products/materials; (3) design skill in assembling pieces to create contiguous and less visible seams; (4) use of current technology and tools; and (5) reliable and on schedule. Custom Stone achieved the highest marks across all five criteria. We would certainly recommend and hire them again for whatever scope project we consider in the future.

Based on my experience, you will not be disappointed. If you want to hear about the overall experience and level of service, then read on... I started off my search by messaging multiple people/companies about countertop fabrication and installation. Some messaged me back, some gave very minimal responses, some places had high prices, some didn't have time for all of my questions. This is the first time I've done any countertop work and I did a lot of research on many different places and scoured the Hayward/San Leandro area and beyond to look at different countertops, designs, etc. Alvaro always responded to all my messages and emails. Every single time. Sometimes my messages would be weeks apart. When I finally made my decision to go with him, it was well over a month from when I first contacted him. He stuck with me all along the way and that left an impression on me, especially in this type of business. I had a few strange questions about different options and configurations of the counters and he was always responsive with open and honest opinions and information. Once I finally picked out my material, he met me at the shop where I purchased the counter to check out the material and he helped me make sure we were getting a good piece that wasn't too warped. All of this helped reassure me that he approved of my selection and that his trained eye could notice things that I wouldn't be able to notice on my own. He picked up the slab with his truck and took it off to fabricate and cut. He showed up a few days later for the install and it was done in no time. Oh, I forgot to mention that he stopped by and did a consultation and looked everything over and provided a ton of really helpful advice and analysis of the job, how he would suggest doing it, what he wouldn't suggest etc. He also brought some samples with him for me to check out and offered a great price on countertops that he already had on hand. The entire experience is everything that you would hope for in a countertop install. I will recommend him to anyone that need any countertop work. The pricing was some of the best I could find, the work was high quality (still looking great and holding up 7 months in) and Alvaro was a pleasure to work with. Thank you very much for everything!
