From start to finish and after installation, she is responsive. She found us a remnant quartz slab in their yard that we liked and was cut and installed in 2 weeks! Her brother Ozzie came to the house to template and she and her dad came to install. How insanely efficient is that? They knew we were over our timeline so squeezed us in on a Saturday. They were also the most reasonable estimate I could find and also provided a beautiful product and perfect installation. And they thoughtfully cut the stone pattern to continue the quartz veins in the backsplash. I didn't even know I needed this. It's perfect. You can tell they take pride in their work! All for $940. I love marble but the maintenance is just too much (3 teenagers and 2 cats) unlike the travertine. Still beautiful, natural stone but less maintenance. I will gladly recommend Enrique's Tile; will use again for future projects.

Didn't finish the job and threw away our remnants…read more We hired R&S Marble in Livermore to fabricate and install countertops using granite remnants we provided. While the craftsmanship and final installation were excellent, the experience was soured by how our materials were handled, and that they never finished the job. We specifically requested--clearly and in writing--that all remnants and offcuts be kept and returned to us. Despite this, they were discarded without notice. These were our materials, and this decision was made without our consent. Communication was poor and when we brought up our concerns, the response lacked accountability. If you choose to work with R&S, be very specific about expectations and follow up frequently. The quality of work is there, but respect for customer property and agreements was unfortunately not.

We had about 2k worth of leftover marble from the project and were told we could pick it up. Multiple trips there and they weren't able to locate it or that the person who knew where it was was mysteriously not there. I had a marble table that broke and planned to have them make a new surface for it so I was told to bring it down and they could do it once they find the material. At this point my emails get ignored, my phone calls started getting screened (I know this because my wife called from a different number immediately after me and they picked up), and I still have no materials nor the table legs. Horrible customer experience from the administrative side of things.

We hired a general contractor and agreed to use all of their selected subcontractors except for a small subset we insisted on selecting ourselves, including Custom Stone. Custom Stone came highly recommended by multiple stone suppliers and other fabricators in the Bay Area. The scope of our stone installation was large and it was critically important that we select a fabricator who had experience with higher-end homes and highest-quality installations. Our scope included a master bathroom consisting of a double vanity, an 8' tall all-slab master shower and an undermounted roman master bathtub; a large kitchen with multiple stone surfaces including a 12' x 9' island; two guest bathrooms with marble slab vanities; a guest bathroom all-slab shower; an all-slab marble surround and hearth for a 42" fireplace; a custom designed and constructed semi-precious slab backlit bar; and an outdoor BBQ counter with Neolith. At the outset of the project, Custom Stone joined us during trips to various stone yards, advised us on the considerations of different materials, and helped us to obtain the most competitive pricing with their relationships. During the fabrication process, Custom Stone sent us multiple detailed design mock-ups and welcomed us to participate in the process. They recently invested in state-of-the-art fabrication equipment and technology that enables Contractors and Owners to see exactly what output they can expect, and to efficiently and flexibly provide input into the design and configuration decisions. For example, their new 3-D Laser measuring system and real-time digital vein-matching software allowed us to approve our slab layout before the fabrication started. Custom Stone's CNC waterjet cutting machine enabled exceptionally precise cuts on the material that we didn't find possible with other fabrication firms, allowing Custom Stone to produce the highest-quality end products for our project. Custom Stone's work is uncontestably one of the highlights of the new home and has significantly enhanced its aesthetic and value. We cannot speak highly enough of their work and the process of working with them. They worked and collaborated well with other trades/subcontractors, offered up creative solutions and demonstrated an unwavering commitment to quality. When we were selecting our stone subcontractor, we considered five (5) criteria in the following stack-ranked order: (1) precision in design and craftsmanship, and attention to detail; (2) knowledge of products/materials; (3) design skill in assembling pieces to create contiguous and less visible seams; (4) use of current technology and tools; and (5) reliable and on schedule. Brandon was very easy to communicate with over the phone and by text and he came to the house multiple times to verify measurements before the actual install. He also had us over at his shop to confirm materials and paint/stain color. Fun to see the working space and tools! Did not get any competing quotes but based on the scope of this custom build and what I know about craftsmanship hourly rates I think the price was a good value. After the consultation was completed, we met with Avi & Joseph at their office to discuss an estimate and timeline for the work we needed done about (6-months time, pending no delays). They really helped us understand what work was critical and what were nice to have to make our living space better. Once we agreed on the work, they promptly sent over a contract for signature, created a whatsapp group for real time communication, and next steps. Overall this initial process took about a week after negotiations and contract reviews. Once construction began, the team coordinated all the work. They made sure that all moving parts were well executed while setting a realistic timeline for the work to be done. All the subcontractors and tradesmen were effectively scheduled, where there wasn't a single day where there was no work being done. I felt that the team ensured that the construction was moving swiftly and the crew was respectful of our space. The crew made sure that our home was properly locked up and cleaned up after each day's work. Additionally, all the detailed finishing work was measured and completed with precision, where all the tiles placed were measured with a laser. As a bonus, the crew was also super respectful to our neighbors which is an extra plus! If you're considering a renovation of any size, but especially a full home renovation, I could not rave more about Construction & More. Don't be fooled by the fake 5 star reviews! Now that we have read all the reviews (too late) we see a same reocuring problems that the 1 star reviewers already experienced. Yes, they have a nice showroom. We were helped by Marisa (Sosa). We had the dimensions available and a good idea of what we were looking for. Found some nice slabs but found that Marisa is not very good at identifying which slabs would fit a 8 1/2 foot counter top with backsplash. Fortunately we know how to measure and calculate so we could eliminate slabs that would not work. We selected a nice slab and were told a measure for the template would be done the following Monday with a set time. So, on that Monday after Veteran's Day (11/12/12), we waited and no one shows up! So I call after awhile and speak with Giovanni. I inquire expecting him to say they are running a few hours late. Then he tells me we "are not an the schedule" and after about 5 minutes on hold he tells me the guy who does the template is not working today(WHAT????). How can we be scheduled last week and now we are not??? I ask him to leave Marisa a message to call me back Tuesday (11/13/12) since she was not in that Monday. To be sure I also call back and leave a voicemail for Marisa. Tuesday comes and goes and no call from ANYONE, so I call back on Wednesday morning. Spoke with Mario Sosa "Jr" who I again left a message for Marisa. At the end of Wednesday after I called yet back again, I reach Marisa. Apparently she is 'confused' thinking it is a short week (due to Thanksgiving) but I remind her Thankgiving is the following week (11/22/12 and know they are closed for installs Friday (11/23). Says no one can come to measure for template until Friday (11/16/12). Luis came out, was polite and professional. (He must not be a Sosa!) but I have hope we are now back on track and can get the counter installed and fabricated. Still had an install date of 11/19/12 until she changed it due to the previous mistakes, delays, miscommunications, etc.... Now we are told maybe Tuesday (11/20) or Wednesday(11/21). So we now have to CANCEL our plans for going out of town for Thanksgiving (due to long drive & work commitments). Told we will have a Wednesday install (time unknown) and to "wait for another call to confirm time for Wednesday". Today Mario calls, saying install will be on yet ANOTHER Monday ( set now for 11/26/12!) and I got upset as we were assured Wednesday was the install. Mario quickly puts me on hold after he says that I have not been communicating with THEM and I remind him how many times I have spoke with Marisa, Giovanni, someone else (name not known) and Mario "Jr" himself with no calls back! Simply put "the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing!" He then agrees to install Wednesday (11/21) "first thing". I 'clarify' that means between 8-9 AM. Fine, finally getting the install! Literally 1 minute later Mario calls back and says it will be a" late install" after all other installs that day. He says "we don't like it but we will do it" in an agitated tone. Another 1 minute goes by and MARIO IS ON THE LINE AGAIN and he says he is changing it again to Monday(11/26) and "to take it or leave it" . NICE WAY TO TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS-NOT! This time I said NO. I wanted it installed when my husband & I are home because we want to make sure they don't try to install a cracked slab or fill scratches with epoxy like some others reviewers have reported. I did not tell him this but frankly I don't trust ANYTHING SOSA says at this point! He says Mondays is the only option, so I told him I would contact VISA to dispute the purchase and charges since they have already posted charges to my account and cancel if they can't make it Wednesday after all the changes & mistakes they have made. I guess they will try to sell the custom sized counter to someone else (good luck finding a match) or have to eat their losses. They certainly are not the only granite supplier around this area. Now that we are wise to the fact they are the supplier/ fabricator & installer for Home Depot and Lowe's we won't waste any time with them either. We got a rough quote already from Lowe's before we knew which was competitive and I certainly don't have an issue with HD or Lowe's but maybe they should reconsider using Sosa for their customers. RUN FROM SOSA....... do a simple Google search and check out all the competition within an hour of Sosa's warehouse! :) Tons of places in San Leandro! Read ALL the reviews and judge for yourself. Be sure to read Mario's responses to many of the complaints...... no wonder they are overwhelmed as they can't get their act together and they frankly do not care about you, the customer. They "THINK" they have the cat in the bag........ couldn't be more WRONG! When you are paying TOP DOLLAR, there is no need to settle for this low level of service! read more

I spent weeks trying to find a contractor to do a kitchen and bath remodel. I got referrals from friends and it was an exhausting process that usually ended with a contractor telling me I did not budget enough for a kitchen and bath remodel. This was such a small project in most contractor's minds that they told me they would just work my job around their other bigger jobs. For what I thought was so much money and an exciting new endeavor I was feeling a little discouraged. I was driving all over the bay area looking at show rooms because the one thing I heard was to get your granite first and then match the rest of your kitchen to that. The only place where I found any granite that I loved was Sosa Granite. I liked their pieces so much I went into their showroom 3 separate times. On the third time I finally decided I was going to buy my granite there. Of course I was there on a Saturday and they were crowded, so I had to wait to get helped. Jennifer and Marissa both helped me out when it came to getting my granite for both the kitchen and the bathroom. They were running a special at the time to do the removal, plumbing and install for 1/2 their normal price! Wahoo! After I signed the contracts I lamented how I wish my contractor were as interested in my project as they were. Jennifer responded that they could be my contractors. She said Michael could come out and give me an estimate on my bath and kitchen remodel and then I wouldn't have to worry about who was doing what since they would do everything. Fast forward to Michael coming out and not only giving me a quote in my price range, but helping me put together the rest of my kitchen from the layout to the color of the cabinets. Michael was so intrical in helping me get my kitchen and bath together! I could not believe how well Sosa treated me. I know they do bigger projects than mine but they made me feel important. After everything was picked out they said they would not schedule any of the project to begin till all the materials were in (which took about 45 days since some of what I picked out was back ordered.) Arlene called to set up a time to demo my kitchen (Their amazing tile guy Tony was backed up on the schedule, but they offered to start on the kitchen since we were not tiling it). Let me tell you the word is professional. I gave them the code to let themselves in everyday and every night I came home from work and their work area was cleaned up. A few problems showed themselves along the way , but Arlene and Michael helped solve everyone of them. They have an amazing electrician/handyman Carlos who was so nice and did wonderful work. So happy to have him on the project. In two weeks I had my new kitchen and they had started on the bathroom. I can not say enough how wonderful Tony was (tiler). The tile in my shower and on the floor turned out wonderfully. Truly thrilled to have worked with him. Working with Sosa was just a wonderful experience. If you need a contractor or just granite please do yourself a favor and use them. They are one of the few who truly care and it shows in their work and who they work with. There are too many problems with this company to list! We wanted to remodel our kitchen and a bathroom so we went to Sosa's warehouse to select the granite slabs. Getting assistance was a bit troublesome because we did not have an appointment, we stopped by but were allowed in to look. We found the slabs we wanted and purchased them. From that point on, the problems started. To summarize: Sosa failed to show up for the measuring appointment. I took the day off specifically for this. When I called asking where the person measuring would be here, it seems like no one had any idea we even had an appointment! Finally we arranged another date and that was problem-free. Then we heard nothing from Sosa, so I called to inquire, it took a long time on hold for anyone to even find our order! Getting them to install it was like pulling teeth, although they already had our billing information (but kept asking repeatedly about it). These people don not know how to run a business! Once an installation date was set, they called to cancel our appointment on very short notice. Try arranging time off work based on your appointment and have to rearrange another date was getting more than annoying. Finally the install date came, the workers had no knowledge of what materials we already purchased and had available. Sosa advised us to get these supplies ahead of time! Communication is an issue (and do not speak Spanish). The workers were unfriendly and did a lousy installation which we insisted they reinstall properly. Dropping tools on our new floors, placing sinks improperly, and needed to be watched closely! I would never let these morons ever set foot in our house again! The owner of Sosa Granite was very rude when we contacted them the next morning (our first chance) and clearly doesn't care about quality or customer service because he already has your money! We have 3 other bathrooms we are remodeling and went to IRG in Dublin. They were much better, and had none of the problems we encountered with Sosa. We have moved 4 times in 18 years and have other granite companies do 2 of our other home, then we found Sosa granite. Sosa blew away the others on all levels the workmanship was the very best that I have ever seen, 12 of our friends have use Sosa and they all had a great experience 3 of our friend used other companies and we all noticed that the other companies cut corners and the installation was very poorly installed. Sadly our other 3 friends also noticed but it was to late and one of our friends tried to get there counter fixed but the companie would show up and say that it was as good as it gets.( we all know that has not true) they we with out a kitchen for 3 weeks, even though they were told it would only be 5 days. Amazing as it sounds Sosa Granite did our demolish and installation in 1 DAY!!!!! They also come the next day to hook up the plumbing. We used Sosa Granite 11 years ago and just used them 3 months ago, and they also full kitchen remodel with new cabinets-electrical-counters- and floors. As soon as we can we will have then remodel our master bath room, some of our friend have used them to do there baths. They are experts in any thing they do. The first step in to there showroom tells you what they are about, but they are completive. They have everything for a kitchen- bath- or flooring. I now understand that it is a family run business. material in the bay area-the prices were also competitive. This is a lost type of business in today's world. Very bad experience! They arrange appointments they do not show up for and completely have no regard for your time they just wasted by not showing up. They seem very disorganized when you call repeatedly to find out what the status of your order is and have none of the information you provided to them after they make the sale. They kept loosing our credit card number and had to call us a couple times, which is the few times they bother to call at all. There were several delays with getting the counters installed. The owners are very rude! When the granite was finally installed they damaged the sink and thought we would not notice. Also had problems with the way they installed it (not straight). We had to file a claim with our credit card company to dispute some charges which can take up to 2 months to resolve. They are very difficult to work with, so you are much better off just avoiding this business and going to just about anyone else. I suggest reading the reviews by their competitors and go with a company that is organized and professional. There are others out there! read more

Along with previous yelpers, I too experienced a long wait and awkward vibe in the Sosa lobby. They make it difficult and uncomfortable to see their showroom. After seeing a gorgeous sample, we did schedule an apt for an estimator to come out and measure for new kitchen granite. The apt was scheduled for between 3-4pm. At 4:10 we had not seen or heard from the estimator, so I called Sosa. They said they would follow up with the estimator and have her call me. Apparently she had no record of our apt, and therefore never would have shown up. Having done construction scheduling at my previous job, I did feel some empathy and was willing to reschedule with out much fuss. The apt was scheduled for 2 days later. I was a bit nervous the morning of because we had not received a confirmation phone call. When I called Sosa, they AGAIN did not have us on the schedule for today! I told the receiptionist to forget it, take us off the schedule entirely. If this is any example of how they conduct business I did not want to get any further into the process with this company. read more

I recently contracted with Sosa Granite to remodel my kitchen and one bathroom. Mario Jr initially visited our home to give us a quote. He was very knowledgeable as far as offering ideas and making suggestions on color matching/material selection, etc. The quote we received was well within the budget we expressed to Mario that we wanted to stay within. We then began working with Marissa in the showroom to make granite/flooring/cabinet selections. She was also very helpful in making this process smooth for us. Making all these changes in a home and the whole remodel process can be intimidating and stressful but the Sosa team put our minds at ease from the beginning. After working with Marissa on all our selections, our project was given a start date and work began. The installers were all very courteous and friendly. The time schedule worked out very well for us and our kitchen and bathroom look beautiful. I would highly recommend Sosa for any remodel needs! We plan to have a second bathroom done in the near future and will be using Sosa for this one as well. read more

I couldn't be happier with the kitchen remodel by Sosa Kitchen & Bath Remodeling. Mario was the 4th and last quote scheduled. Mario was the only only one who suggested moving the stove in order to make use of a dead corner. Although I was use to what I was use to and hesitant, it made sense and I said yes. I am wowed at the craftsmanship and workmanship of the cabinets and its installation, the beveled quartz counters, new lighting, flooring recommendation by Mario and the entire project. The project coordinator kept us apprised of the next remodeling steps, who will be there and what time. There were no bad surprises only good surprises: everyone met the goals and timeline. The remodel was completed a week ahead of schedule with a professional, skilled and timely crew. Besides the gorgeous counters, my kitchen flows well now and has twice as much cabinet space because of Mario's design and suggestions. Recently, we had two countertops replaced in our kitchen by Sosa Granite & Marble. We want to commend all the staff that were involved either directly or behind the scenes in bringing this project to a successful completion. We are very pleased and satisfied with the results and have no hesitation in recommending Sosa to anyone who is looking for a countertop replacement or similar work. Sosa was very helpful in guiding us through a multitude of choices to a final choice with which we are very pleased. Appointments for measurements and installation were kept as scheduled. The installation team made every effort to minimize and contain dust. The tear-down and installation was completed in half a day. This was followed, the next day, by a plumber completing the installation of faucets, etc. All done very professionally. Sosa Granite & Marble has completed 2 Kitchen projects for us. The first project was in Discovery Bay. Brian did the demo., Sosa installed Beautiful Granite Kitchen countertops, backsplash and window sill. We choose the Granite from their showroom.Their fabrication and installation was beyond our expectations-Brian said "you won't want to sell the house", it looks so much better than the original granite. The second project was just completed in Groveland,Ca. Brian did the demo.We choose Quartz from Bedrosian. They ordered, fabricated and installed the countertops and back splash- again exceeding our expectations. The showroom staff, installers and template person all were outstanding. The first project we worked with Jr.,second project we worked with Marissa. My wife and I purchased a home 4 months ago and have been remodeling the kitchen and bathroom, using Sosa Granite for the remodel work. Mario Sosa came to our home to give us the initial estimate. He was very helpful in offering suggestions that worked within our budget. The staff was very helpful when we visited the showroom to pick out our slabs and Mario again spent alot of time with us getting a deal that was about $3500 cheaper than the other 3 bids we received. The workers who came out to our home did an excellent job. We are so pleased with how the work turned out. I would highly recommend Sosa Granite. From beginning to end we felt like Mario stayed very involved in our project, even coming by to see the finished job! 1/25/2012 Edit » Over the past few years Sosa Granite and Marble in Livermore has done an amazing job in our house. Mario Sosa has personally renovated our whole house. It started with remodeling our kitchen, then followed by the master bedroom suite bathroom, then our wet bar, and finally our guest bathroom that was just completed November 2011. Just as promised, Mario Sosa completed the latest project on time and on budget just before Thanksgiving for which we were grateful. His staff is well trained and courteous, they come on time and everyone knows exactly what to do. If we had another project, I would give it to Sosa, but we are done for a while. We have been looking to redo our kitchen countertops for years. After looking at slabs and trying to figure out how to get this done, we went to Sosa. It was the best decision we could have made. The show room people were friendly and helpful, Junior was outstanding helping us to pick out the perfect quartzite piece, planning the cuts and design. The price was competitive with other estimates. The fact that this family business was a one stop shop made the difference. The demolition and installation went flawlessly. It was a difficult job because we had put the backsplash in a few years ago and we didn't want it damaged. The crew was excellent. We had our kitchen counter tops done by Sosa and couldn't be happier. And each step of the way, getting a quote, picking the slabs, the template process, the tear out, the installation and instructions for sealing were all painless. We just can't believe all the horror stories posted on Yelp about Sosa. Why would a company ignore/chase customers away? Something doesn't sound right here. Our post like all the others is virtually anonymous and Yelp should only be one resource a consumer should use when spending thousands of dollars. It wouldn't surprise us if some (if not all) of the nasty posts are from Sosa's competitors. Another resource that is not anonymous and is unbiased is the Better Business Bureau at www.bbb.org. Recently we went to Sosa to look for granite. We were assisted by Jennifer Sherman, Project Manager. Although we found the granite we wanted, it was already promised to another customer. Jennifer took her time with us and offered many great ideas. We found our granite elsewhere but returned to Jennifer to purchase the back splash, tile and mosaic. Not only did she offer many choices, she provided great ideas including a complimentary plan for our installer. She made this kitchen renovation/remodel (due to a water leak) fun instead of stressful. There is a time frame to get the granite, appliances and accessories to arrive in short time for installation. I highly recommend Sosa Granite and Marble! We have just begun an upgrade of our kitchen and wanted to install granite counters and backsplash throughout. We checked out 3 sources one of which was Sosa. They were outstanding! The process was seamless and at each phase ( i.e. selection of the stone, templating the counters, installation, coordination with plumber, follow-up, etc...) we worked with knowledgeable, professional, and nice staff. We had an opportunity to meet and talk with Mario Sr. who spent time helping us make our final selection for our stone. Once templated - the actual installation was completed in a day. I wanted to share my positive experience with Sosa. Mario Jr. and his staff were so helpful from beginning to end. I remodeled my kitchen and this was a first time with granite for me, I had a lot of questions and concerns which Mario Jr. answered and reassured me. He came to my home, measured and gave suggestions which were very helpful. He actually gave me a tour of his warehouse and showed me step by step what they do to make the granite beautiful. Just completed another project with Sosa. Price was higher then other companies but after going over the process with Mario He made some suggestions to lower the cost, He also worked with Me and lower the price. The workers where punctual & polite. I was worried about having my house a mess but they cleaned up before they left each night. We are excited to decorate and use our new bathroom. Picture to follow once I get the room in order . We used this company years ago to remodel our kitchen they was a couple of hiccups on that job but the bathroom was a piece of cake!
