I have read other reviews and would like to comment on my experience with SOSA Granite & Marble and especially Mario Junior. I met with Junior, initially several weeks ago, to go over fabrication and installation of 4 slabs of Cristallo Quartzite. He we extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions and outlining what SOSA would be able to do for us. We received his quote a day later and was very pleased at how competitive it was. I made the decision to move forward that day. He gave me an aggressive timeline for demo, fabrication and installation and kept to it without any delay at all. We had purchased the quartzite prior to our meeting and arranged for the slabs to be delivered to SOSA once we got our quote. It took SOSA just two weeks to demo, template and fabricate the slabs for a very large counter, backsplash and a bar. The fabrication was superb. Once that was complete it was installed 2 days later. Now onto the crew. They were fantastic. Friendly and always with a smile. They installed the material in 1 day and it was perfect. Every seam and every corner was carefully installed. Junior was always available to and was very accommodating whenever I had a question, no matter how simple. All in all, I think SOSA is the best. Junior and the entire staff and crew were very easy to work with and were always available. They created something that looks amazing with the ease of an outstanding organization. We needed granite for our outdoor bar and visited Sosa Kitchen & Bath Remodeling. Mario Jr. was extremely kind, knowledgeable, and helpful throughout the entire process. He took the time to show us the granite slabs on site and explained the differences between various types of granite and other countertop materials, including how direct sunlight can affect them in an outdoor setting. What impressed us most was how patient he was throughout the process. It took us quite a while to find a slab that we truly loved, and he never rushed us. In fact, he encouraged us to be picky and take our time selecting the right slab. He even suggested that we visit several granite suppliers. The slab we selected from a different supplier had quite a few natural fissures, and the supplier even warned us that it would require a very experienced fabricator to prevent cracking. When we mentioned that Sosa would be handling the fabrication, he immediately reassured us that we had nothing to worry about because of their expertise and reputation. After we chose our slab, Mario arranged for it to be delivered to Sosa for fabrication. The slab was slightly smaller than ideal, but Sosa carefully planned the layout to ensure everything would fit for our countertop. Before fabrication, Mario Jr. personally called us and invited us to review the layout, which gave us an idea of how our final countertop would look. Within two weeks, our granite countertop was fabricated and installed. The workmanship was excellent, the seams lined up perfectly, and the final result exceeded our expectations. We are extremely happy with the level of customer service we received. We have used Sosa for several projects over the years starting with a kitchen refresh when we first moved in and then years later a full kitchen remodel, all new cabinetry throughout, a bathroom remodel and we're now getting ready to do another bathroom remodel. We have been so happy with everything from start to finish. From working with their in house designer to all the workers that showed up on time each day. I'm going to keep this as short as possible but if Mario wants to respond by trying to gaslight us as he does with other negative reviewers I will be happy to reply with details, including photos, email copies, phone messages etc. (yes, I kept copies of Everything). This was a very long and unpleasant experience for our family. My 83 year old mother (81at the start), has wanted a kitchen remodel for decades and finally agreed to do it. Mario sr. was a nightmare to work with. Apparently, he was very nice during in the beginning until the contract was signed and the deposit was paid. My mother and adult niece was there from the beginning of the process. (Living out of state, I was not present for that part). I took over being the contact person with my niece when problems started happening and the stress and medical issues became too much for my mom. I traveled home often (4 hour drive) to visit and see the progress. I found Mario to be extremely arrogant, condescending, very difficult and unprofessional to work with. The process which was quoted to take several weeks, turned into 2 years and 3 months due to many significant mistakes and delays, and ended on an unpleasant note. I had to threaten to take him to court which we were prepared to do so, but in the end we reached a settlement and quite frankly, we just wanted him out of our lives and to be done with him. On a positive note, which I believe is the only reason why he is still in business is because he has a good crew. From the beginning, we had many workers in and out of the house doing their jobs. They were always polite and kind to my mom (which we appreciated) and always cleaned up before leaving at the end of each day. the job eventually got done and it definitely is an improvement from the old dated kitchen, but it came with a price. In good conscience, we cannot recommend using this company due to Mario's bad leadership and unprofessionalism. Please feel free to review his other bad comments to see for yourself the pattern and history. Our granite leather countertop was installed in a vacant rental and we went to see work that their plumber fixed and noticed an etched mark on the countertop. They send someone to repair but it didn't work. It's been almost 4 days and no one has contacted me to fix it. I believe it wasn't sealed at installation. That's the only thing I could figure. Sosa Granite did my parent's and brothers' houses with granite here in Discovery Bay years ago. We just had our kitchen done last month and we knew we wanted quartz again. We previously had Cambria Quartz and there was nothing wrong with it, we just wanted to update our kitchen with a different color and larger island. Sosa had the quartz we wanted in stock, so our kitchen was done within 3 days. They took down our pony wall and now we have a big island. They also installed a new sink, faucet, and cooktop. They cleaned up each day, showed up on time, and were very professional. Beautiful showroom in Livermore. Their employees do all the work. We are planning on Sosa to remodel our master bath, guest, and laundry room counters. I want to be grout-free. Check them out, you will be happy you did. read more

I may be a little late to writing this since my work was completed a month ago. However it was overdue. I just want to thank Jr for his insight and kindness. I went here looking to see if I could get what I needed to complete a home project for a coffee bar. Only when I first came in, the front desk made it seem like I had to have a bigger project (because I assume that's what most are coming in for). I was about to leave when she said, why don't I have somebody meet with you and see if we can be of help. Huge thank you to Jr for all his help getting my granite chosen, fabricated, and installed. I've been meaning to write this review a few months now, but we are still doing finish work on the kitchen and house (ourselves). These pics will have to work for now, not completely finished with this remodel project but the granite is finished. 18 years in this home, dreaming of this kitchen remodel one day. Sosa made this so easy, and their work is top notch. Very professional, great installation crew. With so much to choose from out there, it was hard to choose, but I love the granite look and Jr was great in supporting and creating what image was in my head come to life. We got our granite from Arizona tile right next to Sosa, we chose blue galaxy, they have great quality materials and prices also. This was a big project with the amount of granite for the counter tops, water fall huge island, and full backsplash. I love love love how it turned out, worth the wait for sure! I took my time checking out different companies, fabricators, and stone stores all over the Bay Area. My gut instinct, also the way Jr made us feel comfortable, not pressured helped us make the decision to go with Sosa months later when we were ready for the install. I definitely would recommend this company, and would use them again in the future. Treated us like family, very knowledgeable, quality product fabrication and install, at a good price. We used Sosa this past year. It took a while for them to start the job as with most contractors these days they are busy! If you find a contractor who can start right away you should probably as yourself why :-P. We had our kitchen remodeled and the floors throughout the house changed to LVP. They also demo'd a fireplace we didn't want that took up too much room in our master bedroom. Here's what's great about working with Sosa, first, he's experienced and knows his stuff. The kitchen design was smooth and easy. He kept an open mind and tried to accommodate our ambitious ideas but when they were unrealistic for our budget he would let us know why. Second, he sticks everything! He has great selections and there's a lot to choose from. It's a one stop shop so it's all on the same bill. Once the guys started they were awesome. I was kept well informed by both the insight project manager and the off sight project manager. It took about 8 and a half weeks. We did have some hiccups and had to order or reorder some parts and with supply chain issues that did slow down the work. When we had concerns with design they were addressed expeditiously and fairly. We couldn't be more happy with our end product and will DEFINITELY hire Sosa again! read more

Our greatest regret as homeowners is choosing Sosa Kitchen & Bath Remodeling to remodel our kitchen and two bathrooms. If we could go back and choose any other contractor, we certainly would. Here are some highlights of our miserable experience with Mario Sosa Sr. Timing - we signed our contract in June of 2021 with the owner, Mario Sr. At that time we asked if he could have the project done by the end of the year - December 2021. He said that was reasonable and should not be a problem. Work was finally completed July of 2022, seven months later. Quality - if there is a quality control system, we did not see it. We had five cabinets installed in the kitchen (and one in the hall bathroom) that were a different color than the others. We had to identify the issue, document with photos, and submit what was wrong before any action was considered. The wrong countertop slab was installed in our master bathroom. Again, we had to provide photos of the actual slab that we had chosen at his facility before the change was made. The vanity cabinet was installed in the wrong location in our hall bathroom. We pointed this out immediately and referenced their own drawings but were ignored until we refused final payment. By then we had to go back and pick out another vanity top and have the bathroom torn apart again. Customer Service - our project manager initially refused phone calls wanting all communication in writing via email. There were emails she responded to in a timely manner, but many took weeks for a response or simply didn't receive one at all. On January 21st during a phone call with Mario Sr. he began yelling and calling me names. I asked him twice to refrain from the name calling before I was left with no other choice but to fire him. Unfortunately, we did decide to have him finish the job because it was winter, our kitchen was down to studs (exposed to the garage and attic), and we were literally heating the outside. Here we are three months after completion, and we are resigned to the fact that we have an oil-stained driveway (thanks to one of his trucks), kitchen drawers that are self-closing - but don't, and cabinet hardware installed incorrectly. read more

My response to Mr. Sosa's yelp response of 2/7/22 and will be proven in a court of law. #1. The existing cabinets were built in 1999 and are solid oak with the standard medium color stain finish and coated with a top coat of a polyurethane finish. They were not damaged in any way prior to Sosa's work. #2 Refacing of all cabinet doors was never mentioned by Sosa prior to any work. If i decided to have the cabinets prepped and painted and Sosa knew they would not turn out well, then why would he go ahead with the project . I believe it was strictly for the $$$$$. As far as the blue painters tape is concerned, i was never informed what tape they were going to use to cover the floor and I never signed any waiver notifying the use of blue painters tape. In summary, this guy distorts and/or exaggerated the facts and will say anything for $$$$$$$$$. read more

This is a review of Sosa Tile. We had them do countertops, backsplash and sink in our kitchen. Then, a year later, reseal the sink, which is a maintenance issue. The countertops came out great. There was a minor problem which they fixed promptly. The technician who did the reseal couldn't have been nicer and the job came out great. I'd never bought granite or tile before, but Sosa made it a pleasure. Great products, even better customer service. Straight A's for grades. read more

This review is long overdue. I am glad I went with Sosa Granite and Marble for a kitchen remodeling project. I worked with Mario Sr. directly. During my visit to their showroom in Livermore I selected an Italian granite slab for my kitchen countertops and backsplash. I absolutely love the new granite and everyone who visits our home always compliments on the beautiful granite. Included with the purchase of the slab I was given a stainless steel deep double sink with a stainless steel faucet set with hose sprayer and matching soap dispenser. Sosa Granite and Marble took care of the installation including a new garbage disposal that I bought to replace an old one. My only regret is that I didn't take up Mario Sr.'s initial offer to rip and replace all of my kitchen cabinets with newer, nicer ones at the same time I was replacing the old, 60's style pink tile in my kitchen. I had originally planned on doing a kitchen cabinet refacing to save money. I went with two vendors for the project and regretted it later. Lesson learned on my part. Nevertheless I had a very good experience with Sosa Granite and Marble and would definitely use them again for any future projects. They had a beautiful selection of slabs, their prices were decent and the quality of work was excellent. Everyone I interacted with at their company was friendly and very professional. We had Sosa install granite in our large kitchen last year, as well as the wetbar area. Mario came out and had good suggestions regarding selection of the granite, and explained the installation process. We liked his idea to get a more interesting or busy pattern rather than the usual 'salt and pepper' safe choice. We picked a 'wild' pattern and love it. We need new motion in the pattern every day. Sosa did a pretty good job on the installation and all went generally well. I can see that there is a lot that can wrong, hence the variation in the many reviews. Although we could have used more "hand-holding" during the process since we had lots of questions, it all went well. The necessary seam that everyone talks about shows more thanI would have thought, but I think this is how it just is. I cannot imagine how anyone could do a 100% seamless top since they have to be joined at some point. We would definitely recommend Sosa, and plan to use them again soon for a bathroom remodel. Sosa has a very good selection of countertops, and we enjoyed going to their showroom, and going thru the actual giant slabs of granite so that we could actually see what we were selecting. Sosa Granite installed granite countertops in my former home 2 years ago. They did an excellent job from start to finish. They are very friendly and knowledgeable at their showroom and have a wide selection of granite from which to choose. The entire process was smooth and easy - from quote, selection, pre-installation to installation and clean up. I received many compliments on the quality of the work and granite from friends and family. In fact, the granite (and new stainless appliances we installed) were the cherry on top that sold our home. We took advantage of their free sink offer too. We found it to be high-end and classy in our new kitchen. The little details that most granite installers do not think to do is what makes Sosa stand out. They seal the granite for you so you don't have to do it after the installation is complete. They round the upper corners of the granite which gives an expensive appearance as opposed to the standard square cut you see in most homes. Their prices are definitely competitive and the results speak for themselves. If my next home needs new kitchen or bathroom granite, I will not hesitate to have Sosa do the work. The reason it has taken me 2 years to write the review is because I was wrapped up in the new house and kind of forgot. I recently saw one of their commercials and felt compelled to let others know about my experience with this company. The quality of work was just okay. They didn't put a seal on my grout and not sure about the granite, but it stains easily. They told me I had to apply the seal. You would think they would do it to ensure their work. Also, they pulled all the electrical outlets out and left them hanging out of the walls, safety issue. I had to go by the screws to mount them again and put the plates back on. When I emalied them, I got no response until they wanted final payment. Not a happy customer read more

I can't give them enough stars. They were professional quick and did an outstanding job. It was the second counter they had done for us. We got another bid and the other company wanted to add seams to the sink edges and behind the range in which Sosa added none. Our quartz countertop pattern flowed all the way from the backsplash through the edging. We couldn't be happier and will not waste our time in the future getting another bid. We engaged Sosa Kitchen and Bath Remodeling to replace our 80's style tile countertops and backsplash with granite and modern tile and to replace our 10x10 tile floors with wood-look tile. We met Mario Sr. during the quotation process. He was very personable and helpful, taking time to answer our questions about the process. He provide a quote to us in a couple days and even did us the favor or splitting the quote into a couple of phases so we could choose which projects to work on first. We chose to do granite countertops, a new sink, and new tile. The process of picking out the granite was fun and we spent quite a bit of time in their showroom. In addition we went out to MSI in Hayward and found the tile there which Sosa ordered for us. We agreed upon the final pricing based upon the actual granite and tile we chose and found that the tile we picked was less expensive so we were able to upgrade our granite finishing. The entire process of install took 6 days: 1 demolition and plywood installation, 1 day granite installation, 1 day plumbing, and 3 days for tile. All of the installers were very professional, covered floors and appliances and were very good at keeping everything as clean as possible. A huge shout out to everyone involved in the process, especially Francisco who spent three days making sure that the tile backsplash was installed perfectly. His cuts on one end of the counter perfectly match the other end of the counter 15 feet away. Again, we were very impressed with everyone as Sosa and will be using them for additional countertop work we will be having done for our outdoor kitchen. read more

I found out about Sosa Granite from a friend, and I'm so glad I went with them and not the other companies I was looking at. It was my first remodel project and I was a little overwhelmed, but they explained everything from start to finish. Our entire kitchen, living room, and bar area were completely re-done. Mario, Marissa, and all the staff there were so accommodating and patient throughout the entire process. They are super knowledgeable (after 30 years they should be), and together we created everything custom that turned out amazing.
