Fifteen minutes before my scheduled 4-hour block visit this morning, Nick called to tell me that they don't do the services which their AI said they did. He kept on blaming AI and its fine-tuning as the cause of the problem. I asked why did humans not review today's schedule yesterday to prevent this waste of time for R Buck and me. Yeah, you guessed it, it was AI's fault. R Buck apparently recently bought out Swartz Electric so watch out previous customers! You're in for a rough ride. I suggest you find a new horse. read more

We have been extremely disappointed with our experience with this company over the past year, and the attached photos show exactly why. We were on a paid service subscription and had multiple technicians in our home for inspections and maintenance, including a furnace inspection approximately one month ago. Despite repeatedly calling about a furnace leak we noticed early on, we were given different explanations by different technicians, and the issue was never properly identified or resolved. The photos attached were taken today and show extensive rust, corrosion, water damage, and a heavily contaminated blower fan. These conditions were documented today by both another HVAC company and by this company's own technician. Rust, corrosion, standing water, and this level of dirt buildup do not appear overnight, nor do they develop in the span of a single month. This raises serious concerns about how thoroughly our system was actually inspected under the service plan we paid for. One of the most alarming incidents occurred during a prior service visit when a technician was working inside our furnace while my husband and I were present. The technician stated the blower motor had shorted out and bypassed the system by connecting it to other wiring. The blower motor immediately caught fire in front of us. We were forced to retrieve and use our own fire extinguisher. The blower motor was replaced due to this incident, and we were charged approximately $800 for the repair. Ultimately, after another visit today, we sought a second opinion once the technician left and were told the damage has progressed to the point that our entire furnace and AC system must now be replaced. Had the leak and corrosion been properly identified and addressed when we first reported concerns, it is very possible this situation would not have escalated to a full system replacement. Another ongoing issue was sales pressure. During routine inspection visits, technicians were required to present three different quotes each time, which felt inappropriate and predatory during what should have been maintenance appointments. Based on our experience, the service subscription did not deliver what was promised, critical issues were missed, and trust was ultimately lost. We can no longer recommend this company. read more

It's a mess. Not professional. It was a plumbing job and they left a huge hole in our wall and then ghosted us. I'm a 60 yr old female and my elderly mother, we're tired of being taken advantage of and hurt this way. Loose screw on the tub fixture, no sealant around the fixture but it was in the bottom of the tub. Etc. They even left the head to a snake which is a huge jagged metal piece in our driveway that would puncture a tire if I hadn't noticed and picked it up. read more

I am writing to express my frustration and disappointment regarding the service I received from R Buck and the issues that followed. Approximately one year ago, a technician inspected my swamp cooler and told me that although it was older, it still had a couple of years of life remaining. Based on that recommendation, I moved forward with the suggested work. I paid approximately $900 for the installation of a water spigot and the electrical work needed to get the unit operational. Shortly after the water spigot was installed, it became clear that it had been installed incorrectly. Whenever the outdoor water was turned on, water leaked into my basement, causing damage to my walls. I reported the issue immediately, but instead of correcting the damage, I was offered a quote to repair it at my own expense and was even advised to try Flex Seal as a temporary solution. Because the water leaked every time it was turned on, we were unable to use the swamp cooler at all. We contacted the company multiple times, but the issue was never properly resolved. As a result, the unit sat unused for the entire season. This summer, we discovered the basement leak was still present, the spigot was now leaking on the exterior of the house, and there was also damage to the stucco where the piping had been secured. Two technicians recently came out, repaired the plumbing issues at no charge, and were both professional, understanding, and concerned about the condition of the original installation. However, after those repairs, we were informed that the swamp cooler would not turn on, would not hold water, and was now too old to repair. I was then given a quote of approximately $7,000 for a replacement unit. What makes this especially frustrating is that only one year ago I was told the unit still had a couple of years of useful life remaining, which is why I agreed to spend nearly $900 to get it running. Now, after being unable to use it for an entire year because of installation issues caused by your company, I am being told it must be completely replaced. During a conversation with Henry, the manager, he stated that because a year had passed, I should have taken care of the issue sooner. He compared it to getting an oil change and letting a car sit for a year. He also suggested that the condition of the swamp cooler may be due to it not being properly emptied or winterized. Respectfully, I do not believe either explanation applies. The reason we could not use, maintain, or winterize the swamp cooler was because the installation issues caused by your company prevented us from operating it in the first place. Every time the water was turned on, it leaked into our basement and caused damage to our home. Had the installation been completed correctly, we would have been able to use and maintain the unit as recommended. Henry also informed me that the technician responsible for the original installation no longer works for the company. While I understand that employees move on, I believe a company should stand behind the work performed under its name regardless of who currently works there. To be clear, I am not asking R Buck to repair the stucco damage or the water damage to my walls, even though both resulted from the original installation. However, I do feel that asking me to spend approximately $7,000 on a replacement unit is unreasonable given the circumstances. I relied on your company's recommendation, spent nearly $900 based on that recommendation, was unable to use the system because of installation issues, and was left dealing with property damage as a result. I respectfully ask that this situation be reviewed in its entirety and that a fair resolution be considered. I am simply asking the company to stand behind its work and work with me toward a reasonable solution. read more

Do not get the $120 a/c check up, the "technician" gets a 5% commission for any repairs he feels you need. This encourages the techs to rip you off as it lines their own pocket. Terrible company. read more

I had this company come out to assess for AC that was not working. My AC unit was under warranty, only 4 years old, warranty was for 10 years. They quoted nearly 6200$! A new compressor. Second opinion, fixed for under 1000$, from a local, former employee. This company is horrible!!!!!!! Found out that they are a commission driven company to screw customers over!!! I asked them to come out to see if I needed a HVAC replacement. The guy showed up WITHOUT any tools to do his inspection! How can he make an evaluation without being able to look inside the unit? I let him use my own tools. They sent me estimate for $15,000. So, I asked 3 other HVAC contractors for their free 2nd opinion. Plus, I asked ChatGPT what was a fair price. The average should be $9,000 to $11,000. So no, I didn't use R Buck to replace my HVAC. read more

We have used R.Buck for many years and have always been happy with their work. Recently they have changed ownership or restructured something. Now they come out, do the same good job, BUT put the pressure on to sell you something else. It's disappointing. We just want service when we need it and no sales pressure. read more

Absolutely do not recommend. What a nightmare. R Buck came to our house back in August 2023 to do some work on our AC. The guy they sent out spent half the time telling me how bad my warranty company was, and kept trying to convince me to let him give me his buddy's information and switch our warranty company to whomever his buddy was working for. While it was extremely unprofessional, it was definitely not the worst of our experience. When the associate was here, we paid for the service we received. He confirmed that it was paid for, everything was good. A while later, come to find out, the guy didn't charge our card. Somehow, he charged our service to a DIFFERENT customer. So some other poor customer got charged for our service. RBuck emailed us to inform us that our account was delinquent (again, we were told it had been paid), and I emailed them back asking questions trying to understand HOW the balance could be unpaid when we "paid" it on the day of service. I was responding very quickly to them, probably within the same business day or the very next. Less than one business day after their second email to me, (again, I had just been informed that our account wasn't paid and this second email was them responding to me asking how it could be delinquent after we already "paid",) we got a nasty email from our warranty company telling us they were going to put a hold on our account because RBuck told them we didn't pay, and falsely claimed that we weren't responding to their messages. Talk about a mess! My husband got the balance paid off *again*, and we thought everything was good. Today, five months later, we had something happen in our house and we needed to make a claim with our warranty company. When I called them, they told us they couldn't run the claim because there was a claim hold on our account. Turns out, despite receiving our money FIVE MONTHS ago, RBuck STILL had our account on a claim hold through our warranty company. Absolutely ridiculous. I will never work with this company again and I'm submitting a complaint to our warranty company as well. I'm hoping our warranty company will consider RBuck's dishonesty with us AND them (because they lied to our warranty company as well, let's be clear about that) before scheduling them with any other customers And, I think there is one big takeaway that anyone considering RBuck should have from my review: They charged someone else for my service. Someone else who hired them, gave them their credit card information. They took someone else's private credit card information and somehow applied it to our account instead of using the card info we gave them. The technician "Guy" from R-Buck has been my go-to HVAC tech for years on several of my houses. He is very professional, knowledgeable, and always gets the job done. With his years of experience and wide client base, I'm surprised he hasn't started his own operation! I found this dishonest service and started telling me it could be fixed but it didn't have to be fixed over and over again yesterday a new maintenance guy came to repair and told me it couldn't be fixed I arrived at their office center today and asked for the repair fee to be returned and the receptionist lied and said The manager was in a meeting and asked me to go home and wait for the call. I refused. Within a few minutes, the manager came out and said that he would not return the repair fee. Please choose carefully. If you start telling me that it cannot be repaired, I will not pay the fee. This is a liar. read more

The installers were great. The problem I have is that the first tech who came out and checked my furnace didn't do his job properly and ended up costing me 6000$ Told my furnace was shot and that it was unserviceable. So I decided to replace everything. Well my furnace was fine the tech didn't check the fuse. So I spent 6000 on a new furnace when all mine needed was a fuse. Christmas is going to be tight thanks to a tech who just wanted sell a new furnace and not do his job properly. Won't use them again. read more

I thought I went through a great company spending $12,000 on a new AC system and heating system but a year and a half later on the two year mark, I ended up having a copper line leaking on me because of a technicians improper welding. I thought I should be covered in even if there's not a warranty on this due to technicians error but the company off the gecko started throwing out issues and when a technician came and identified and improper threading was informed by the technicians manager that I'm gonna be charged $300 to fix the issue that the technician created. management kept trying to bring up warranty, but the warranty is a separate issue when a technician doesn't do a proper install and thankfully identified this issue sooner than later because this could've cost me way more money. The funny part was the manager saying that I need to pay three 600 and he's buying $1500 which doesn't make sense for a re-threading and a AC recharge For no more than an ounce of fluid. At the end of the day, the manager said oh well I can't take that kind of a hit at least you should be happy with this and if not not my issue so I told the manager to F off and hard another company do it right the first time and I will never recommend this company to do AC heating install if they can't properly do it right the first time and then they're gonna try to charge their customers 2000+ dollars a year later. Jeff was very professional and immediately recognized my problem just by listening to the furnace. He quickly disassembled, drained the condensate moisture ( damn Miller moths plugged it up ) and had me running in no time! My review is very mixed for a good reason. I was having an A/C issue with my admittedly older A/C unit. The guy came out and did one thing but then did something else that he claimed was a bit pricey (for which I said, well don't, then) but he said he'd "cut me a break"...I even tipped him. Anyway, I get the full bill and it was the full price I had said no to! I called them and they made it right but I feel the guy was either conning me, or his employer. Super impressed with the service we received. We just had a new ac and furnace installed in a newly purchased home. They came to bid the job the day we closed on the hone. Just a week later we had brand new equipment in our home. Scott and another guy with initials S.O. Came to do the install. They were here for most of the day and they were very polite and informative. They even called after they left to inform me that I would need a special door on the utility room for ventilation. That is not an easy job, and the first company I called really had no interest in the job as soon as the owner/estimator came out. I called to get some help with my duct work to my evaporative unit and this company told me that they will not be working on small jobs till the big money making jobs are done. Where is the love for us residential people that need help. The unit is on the house and the duct work is in the crawl space. I understand they have to make money but a missed opportunity is lost to a potential client to buy a new HVAC unit and installation. If you have to spend money to replace a furnace, R Buck's is the most pleasant way. I spoke with Brittani, told her we had a short window of time to get furnace replaced. Brittani also gave us good news about the rebate program with Excel Gas. Jeff came out that day and gave us an estimate. he told us exactly what would happen and how everything would be routed. Nick and Justin came to install. They had a long, hard day. The furnace was in basement and had to be sledged out. Galvanized pipes were painted and rusted. Nick and Justin stayed on task, got it done, up and running, cleaned space, removed old materials. They kept their sense of humor and were very professional. We signed up for yearly maintenance with them! Update 5/82018 we had R Bucks check out our evaporative cooler. The service tech, Tabor was on time, vacuumed out the fan, made sure everything was running properly and changed out the water line. Fast, clean, efficient and reasonable cost service. Heater went out while we were out of state, Nick came out and got us going until we could get home and decide what to do. We decided to replace our heating and cooling system and add a humidifier. Randy came out and measured everything and told us our options. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all our questions. Within a week the equipment arrived and was installed. Nick, Henry and I think Mike worked on our install, they were very professional, efficient and clean. We had a couple minor issues, I would say bugs, within the first day or two but everytime we called they responded immediately and fixed the issue. I am very impressed with the service after install, I have rarely had a company respond as quickly and fix whatever was wrong and apologize on top of it. In a world where most companies do not appreciate their customers and lack any kind of customer service RBuck is a pleasant change. Wanted a checkup/review of heating system as it is 4 years old. They gave me pricing before they came out. Randy came out (on time) and did a complete diagnostics on the system . Showed me what he was doing and explained all the readings. Was very thorough , friendly, on time. Wore booties in the house, and picked up after himself. Left me feeling confident the heating system was in good shape. Recommended a better thermostat but was not pushy about it. Will be my heating service from now on! read more

Jeff just left and thank god for Jeff. We belong to Angie's list but they distribute service providers from Colorado Springs and when we need someone in Pueblo, we are out of luck. So I checked online and found this company and the staff immediately set to work getting me an appointment for the next day. I was surprised when they called a few hours later to see if we still had a problem...(Yes, the air conditioner shut down on a day of 100 degrees or so)...and the next day they were prompt and Jeff pre-called and then arrived 10 minutes later. We have two air conditioners and two heaters. And they were FILTHY as we are new to this home and the prior owner claimed to clean all filters and units but, in fact, did NOT. Jeff set about cleaning them. He was amazing. The business cares about their clients and all is good in our world again. He also trained my husband on the units and the systems in the crawl space and out back. We are doing cartwheels in our COOL house.
