Was in town on business, and wanted to stop by one of the most popular spots for electronic hobbies. This place is ALL HOBBIES! They're known for their extensive (--VERY EXTENSIVE--) RC Hobby equipment and supplies.... And that's what I came for. Came in looking for things that I thought I could only find online upgrade parts for Arrma Mojave Grom and Granite Grom. Was looking for different covers and axle rods. They had what I was looking for! Also, saw a ton of aftermarket parts for ALL scales of Rock Crawlers, and the cars to g with them... I stared at one of them too long, and the sales-tech shoved the crawler in my hand and ushered me over to the rock crawl stage, in the middle of the store... I had a blast! Prior to my experience with this rock crawler, I had my research set on a different type... the hands-on experience helped me make a great choice. I picked one up a week later, for my grandkids. (Today) I saw and perused a LOT... yes, transmitters, receivers, planes, trains, automobiles...dolls, bears, think toys, frisbees, electronic and steam hobby... and even more Toy Hobby, not just crafts... Toy Hobby. I haven't seen such variety of beginner/intermediate/advanced electronic and toy hobby in one place. This. Place. Has. It. ALL. If you don't have a hobby going in, you can definitely leave with one, or two. Well worth the visit to get your hands, and set eyes on the hobby you're looking into! read more

I had no idea this place existed but it's so fun! There is so much to look at. Everything from trains to robots and everything in-between. Lots of fun toys and hobby stuff for all ages. They even had some vintage Star Wars stuff which I was excited about. I will most definitely be back. The staff were very nice and helpful. Great place to get all of your radio control needs and wants. Possibly the best rc shop on the west coast. They have a good selection of building supplies and the guys in the aircraft department go out of their way to help get your aviation dreams aloft. read more

I have a bunch of rc cars and if there's a place I would suggest you visit even if your 2 hrs away it's this shop. They have 10/10 customer service and the management is amazing. These guys care about you and your business. you will be taking care of. I just saved over $500 in parts that Steven and Mike warranted in for me even when the car wasn't purchased from him. I used to love going to RC country I have been buying RC cars and trucks for myself and my kids for 16 years. I love the selection and the staff.... The old staff and the owner is a great guy. Today I took my Traxxas XRT in to get a very minor gear change done and some guy who was super rude was like we don't do repairs even before I could get a word out. I knew he wasn't a good person when I first came in and sat my truck on the counter cause he saw me and walked off. No give me a sec , I'll be right with you nothing, then he comes back and we don't do repairs haven't done em for 3 yrs. At this point I'm angry but I keep my cool because I had my daughter with me she absolutely loves going there to get things. So after the rude guys rude statements he says take it to fast track hobbies in Rocklin. And that's exactly what I did and will continue to do. I have about 9 buddies going thru midlife crisis and are looking to buy RC trucks and I will make sure they DO NOT go to RC country and take their money to fast track hobbies. read more

I've come in here a few times for different things. The first time was only for rockets and the second time was for a variety of things. The employee Matt was great at answering all the questions we had. He even let my daughter try one of the RC cars they had there. We were able to get the rockets and parts we needed, and now are looking at getting into RC cars since they have such a good selection and customer service there. They have a variety of rockets to choose from and you can get the rocket engines, wadding paper and starters at the front counter. read more

I was helped (?) by a cranky older man that informed me I could not get a refund for a return to my card that was noted on the receipt and at the cash register. I was informed it costs them money when you use a card and when they did a charge back. Very much the normal cost of business. The register had two women working it and a woman in front of me had items on the counter obscuring any notice. While she was asking questions and being helped I paid for my item, putting the receipt with my card in my wallet. I never looked at it. I told the manager I would pay the fees for the card as a store credit would not work for me. I had traveled 1/2hr and would not be back. Got my refund. Bad customer service. read more

My grandson and I love going to RC Country Hobbies. We go every couple of months and they always have new items in stock. Their prices are fairly reasonable considering there aren't a lot of hobby stores around anymore. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. They even repaired my grandson's RC military jeep free of charge! read more

Can't get this on Amazon! I love this place. Been coming here since I was a kid! Took my nephew here to buy parts for his RC car. Not only did he get his parts , he got great advice and tips from the helpful salesman. My nephew was almost going to buy parts off Amazon and I'm so happy we took him here instead. Not only did he get his parts, he got awesome advice, friendly service, and an experience he will remember. This store offered more quality options, with multiple friendly sales people helping us. Needed some parts replaced, diagnosed it quickly with what was wrong and recommended some updated parts considering the car sat for 10 years. Super nice crew at the store. Best hobby shop in Sacramento county. Location is adjacent to US 50 freeway; on the way to South Lake Tahoe(SLT) El Dorado County. Parking was super easy to find in the plaza. Owner, manager, and staff were pretty nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. Service was fast: lots of ultra great selections of RC vehicles, souvenirs, display cars, planes, and model trains; but a little pricey: even though, it's certainly worth collecting. Although, kind of cheaper than online shopping. Hobby shops are pretty rare to find. I hope this place remains in business permanently. This place is totally worth visiting if you're traveling to Sierra Nevada. Definitely returning here again to shop when I'm in Sacramento area and Reno-Tahoe. read more

Horrible customer service! Purchased gift on Saturday, but needed to return it on Monday. Even though I had the receipt, and it had not been opened, they would not return my money! Absolutely top notch service. I went in today to check out some 1/10 rock crawlers and parts. Being a little newer to the hobby, I'm not the most knowledgeable. The gentleman at the counter, Matt, took his time to show me which rigs are good, which to steer clear of. He broke down mechanics and did demonstrations. When asking him questions, he answered with so much in depth knowledge and he did so without making me feel like I was bothering him. You can tell he's truly passionate about the hobby. This shop is lucky to have someone like him. He's insights and guidance were greatly appreciated, he even let me drive his rig to check out the difference in performance. This place is a RIP-OFF! I would give them a negative number review if Yelp allowed! They don't follow good business practices. I went in asking for a specific part. Apparently, they didn't have the part I requested. Rather than explain this to me, the WRONG parts were sold to me. I discovered this error 30 minutes later. Upon returning to the store I was told ONLY store credit. WHY, only store credit when they KNOWINGLY sold me the wrong parts? This was a $150.00 purchase that I'm now out due to their mistake . I will NEVER shop do business with this store again. If you know what's good for you, I'd advise you do the same. read more

This is a great place to pick up model kits, tools and supplies. They have a lot of what I need, and at a price that is comparable to buying online. The nice thing about buying in-store is the lack of a wait time. And if you build model kits, believe me - you normally need the part right away! Just hope you don't need anything on a Sunday as they would be closed. The store is huge! You can spend hours browsing the store for hobby items. And be at awe at what is in-store. Disneyland for the hobbyist! The only thing is: wishing you had money to afford all the nice things they have in the store. Don't we all wish :) The place is clean and help is always around. If you have questions, just approach anyone in the store. If they can't answer your question, they'll lead you to someone who can. We happened to be having dinner near this store and stopped in to kill some time. We shopped and left. I found out the hard way that they have one of the worst return policies I have ever seen. I like to support small businesses but I won't be shopping here again. Purchased 3 items. One was an electric musical instrument, the other was a small toy and the last was a disc gun. It came to $67. When I opened the electric instrument there was no power cord. The disc gun broke after the first use. I went to their website to see their return policy. It wasn't listed. I don't live near this store but I had to drive all the way back. I tell the cashier what happened and she was very apologetic. She said we only offer a 14 day return window and we only give store credit. I said I haven't had a good experience and there's nothing I want. She ignores me and continues the return on a gift card. She hands me the gift card and tells me it never expires. WTF? We walked around for 30 min and found nothing. Now I have a gift card I can't use. read more

Best hobby store in Sacramento! They've got most of your hobby needs from RC cars, trucks to planes, boats and hobby trains! They also have a variety of toys for all ages, wide selection of model vehicles. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. They will entertain your questions even if you're not there to purchase. One downside is if you call the store, be prepared to wait. So, just drop by instead. Pretty sure you won't come out of this store empty handed. It's like Target but for hobbyists. read more

Highly disappointed in the store will never do business there again. Fourth time they're treated like I was an outcast and didn't want my money spent there. Two times I tried to spend over $1300 there and they're Horrible customer service chased me away. Sorry I'm not some redneck with a lifted ford truck My money is green just like everyone else's. Salesman there all have a stick up their ass and are rude. A good salesman wouldn't just point to the wall and say they're over there when you're looking for a particular part. Just called these guys, wanting to give business to a local shop vs. buying on Amazon and I swear the guy sounded like he was trying to NOT get business. I'm interested in this RC Car.... "No, nope, we don't have those"... Do you have RC cars like then, where I can buy something as a base and then add to it? "No, nope. We don't really do stuff like that... Like if you need a motor, maybe, but...". Message received. Amazon gets my money and I'll drive to one of the other local hobby shops. read more

I am into the RC car hobby and having this local store is a great resource to have no doubt. Prices are fair, product stock is more than sufficient, and they have knowledgeable staff. Knocking off a couple stars because I feel like every time I go there the staff is not that friendly. The treatment is as follows: what do you want? Okay, here now get the F out of my face... I've been in there at least a dozen times and have this experience almost every time... I will note note not all the staff are this way. The cashiers are always friendly. Them parts guys tho... geez.. Since I've had a string of these poor interactions, I've stated going to other stores and utilizing Amazon to supply my broken parts. I want to support local but they have gotta work on customer service. If this store improves the attitude of some of the employees it would make a big difference in the shopping experience. The way it is now you feel pushed out the door. And btw don't let the door hit you in the ass. read more

Well stocked old-school hobby shop. While I love these places, and am happy to see one still around, I do have to say that as our pandemic worsens every day, it's shocking that some businesses only care about themselves. The safety of your staff and customers should be paramount. The complete lack of masks and lack of any sort of social distancing is reprehensible. I refuse to place the safety of myself and my kids in your hands. My business will go elsewhere. Get with the program. read more
