Selection is pretty decent, not huge, but good enough. Prices are pretty reasonable for boxes, but singles were a bit on the pricey side. Good location, although maybe could use a bigger space. D&P is an awesome shop! One of the first shops I went to when I was getting back into cards in 2018. Back when you could get a box of 2018 Topps for like $100. They've come a long way since being the small hole in a wall. Seeing them expand their shop into the next door place as well has been awesome! They have a great selection of wax products, and not just the new stuff either. They have probably the most thorough selection of wax in Sacramento. The guys there are nice as well and have always given me good service. I pulled one of my best cards ever here as well with the guys all gathered around and it was a great experience. They also put on a big card show every year and they've always treated me well! Definitely check them out whenever you're in the area, especially if you're looking for some older wax. read more

Today's experience left a really bad impression. I traded in a slab and a single with Ken for $25 credit and asked if he'd do both Charizard ex boxes for $80 total. He agreed. When I went to pay, the total rang up at $87. I immediately pointed it out and said, "Shouldn't it be $55 after my $25 trade-in?" Ken then said he took $25 off the original box prices ($100 total) -- completely ignoring the $80 deal we had just agreed on. To make matters worse, he only deducted $20, not even $25. The whole exchange felt awkward and unprofessional. Honestly, it came off as dishonest -- like something meant to slip past someone not paying attention. If you agree to a price, you honor it. I've been in that shop countless times, and Ken's always there. For someone in that position to handle things this poorly was disappointing. I'm not some random walk-in -- and this experience lost my business for good. read more

Decent pricing against online sellers. We're super helpful and knew what they were talking about.

Came in today to pick up some toploaders and was greeted by one of the guys working. Seemed like a decent card shop but they were a bit disorganized. They had a few tables set up that look like picnic tables, almost what you see in card shops for Pokémon tournaments and such. They didn't have much for sale in singles - I wanted to look around but they guy said mainly just boxes for sale currently. Anyhow - paid $7.00-8.00 for 100 point toploaders, definitely the high end of of the market. But considering a drove 20 minutes one way to pick them up, I figured I better get them while I was here. I was planning to get 130 point toploaders but at $8.00 a pack they're cheaper online. I went to another card shop across town a couple days ago and bought the same toploaders for $5.00 a pack, not to mention the guys working were much more friendly at the other shop. Also, no one in the store had on a mask. I get that this is their place of work but when you're in a retail store with people coming and going, you should have it ready to put on when someone walks in. I was planning to give these guys 2 stars but no masks and a non-touch less payment option (he took my card and put it into his Square card reader on his phone) makes it a 1 star transaction. I won't be coming back and I'd advise that there are better card shops in the area - unfortunately this was the only one open on a Sunday that I could find. read more

I haven't visited their physical store but my experience via IG Live has been stellar. It's def for adults and not meant for kids. Cal speaks his mind, offers great deals for his products, and works hard to keep his customers happy. More importantly, I have gotten several hits breaking with him so that's always fun. Probably the worst card store in the area, workers are extremely rude and don't know prices of there own items, I have called and asked if they have a certain item in stock and they said they have them and gave me a price when I got them they said they don't have the item and said they have them but can't sell them even though on the phone the same person gave me a price. They clearly lack communication between workers. They make it seem like you are bothering them when you ask questions and aren't very approachable. Do not greet when I walk in. Being a girl in the card community is hard enough and especially walking into this place made it worse. Definitely recommend team mates if anyone is looking for any card shops! read more

Came in to buy some Panini Basketball, toploaders and ask general questions. I haven't been around the card collecting game in awhile but I for sure won't be coming back here. The seller acted as if I was bothering him by asking my questions. Was not not welcoming and the ENTIRE time I was in the store acted as if I was disturbing him with my questions. I ended up buying some toploaders and two beckett's but I honestly regret spending ANY money there given how rude the man was. Also, asked some general questions about cards I currently have in my collection. He was very dismissive and negative in his assessment of their grade and quality. His assessment ("these cards are not worth a lot", "this is not worth grading") turned out to be 100% inaccurate since I sent the cards in for professional PSA grading and three came back Gem and two came back Mint. All of which he dismissed as "not being worth grading." I understand being polite and having decent interpersonal skills isn't everyone's skillset but if you run a business you don't want to make folks feel unwelcomed. No matter what level of a collector they are, they should feel like their business is valued. Message received: card trading is ONLY transactional and nothing else matters. Will never come back here even though I live right across the street. read more

I had dreams of a great visit to an authorize Beckett dealer, walking out with an arm load of cards. What I discovered instead was a business where the person behind the counter acted like he did not want to socialize with the human race. Not rude, but lacking anything resembling personality or customer service skills. The shop does offer a fair amount of older cards. Unfortunately they are spread haphazardly among their new stock. I was left on my own to search along a wall behind counters hoping I might spot a box from the 50's, 60's or 70's, then drag the worker from whatever was occupying his time to pull it out for me. (I believe his comment was, "They are on the wall around this area. You are welcome to look.") Once I'd gathered my bounty from his commons I was informed he had to look the prices up. While an inconvenience, I was willing to tolerate the wait. (Any baseball shop worth their while should know, or have an idea that their commons are xxxx price.) The wait was interminable. It felt close to 30 minutes to look up every single card in my stack. (Maybe 25 cards.) The price offered seemed extremely high and I know I was not being offered any discounts. In all fairness this was not the owner or main proprietor. (He commented to another customer the boss coming in Saturday and he wasn't authorized to accept collections.) Perhaps the owner would be more friendly, knowledgeable and interested in my business. However, if this is the type of employee he hires it leaves me little confidence in a pleasant return trip. I visited this shop a couple of weeks ago. First time in a long long time. Very impressed. Primarily with the service level although they do have a nice variety of material, including several pretty unique items. Overall it was a very good experience and I walked out with a number of nice cards. What I like best was the gentleman running the shop who I believe to be the owner. Very friendly and engaging. And I got the feeling this is normal just by his manner. Prices are pretty good and he will dicker a little if you are buying multiple cards. Nice variety of card supplies too. They are very rude. Spent thousands of dollars with them and right after I won a contest they were doing they blocked me from every account they had. His breaking style sucks to be honest he tries to hype everything up when it's a crappy card. His REPACKS ARE A JOKE. Yes I won a contest with his repacks but he said every card had a value of $250 at least. Bought 3 and highest comp value of the 3 was $75. Not a good thing to lie to customers that spend thousands. Started buying from this shop back in March and never looked back. Best prices and great customer service. Bought some hobby boxes, blasters, cellos, repacks. Also joined multiple team breaks and drafts that they have nightly. Definitely recommend this shop for your Sportscards needs.
