Bidding, construction, and gate commissioning were a breeze. All team members were extremely professional, knowledgable, and responsive. Detail: We reviewed four companies in the Austin area for a fence extension and automated gate for security purposes. Absolute Fence & Gate were outstanding to work with: they came in cheaper than all other alternatives, were the most responsive with clear communication, and were very knowledgable about the options within our space. Amanda was extremely responsive and helped us scope out our initial ask to coordinate an onsite bid walk quickly and helped sort out billing. Travis helped develop our initial concept for a gate into an efficient, turn-key solution that would abide by local codes and fit within our budget. After clarifying our scope, the project was completed at a lightning pace. They staggered the required demo of our old fence until the day they'd be able to erect the fencing to minimize the amount of time our house was exposed to the street. The work crews were very professional and Travis and his team clearly explained the scope each day and progress updates. In addition, Cade and the gate operator crew were outstanding. They set up the motor and made sure all items were functional tested. They did a terrific job commissioning the equipment and explaining how to use it. The commissioning team also noted that our gate operator had a minor issue and contacted the manufacturer for a same-day under warranty solution. The level of service was outstanding, and I was very pleased to have a total turnkey solution. During the construction, Travis would check in with the teams and ensure quality work which resulted in zero punch items at final walk. Travis even performed a final QA check on the operator to make sure operation was up to their quality standard. Every team member was very knowledgeable and professional. They provided excellent advice and suggestions and helped us craft our gate idea into a solution with a terrific product!

Despite the many 5 star reviews, we had a pretty awful experience working with JP Exteriors. It…read morestarted when we accepted a bid to replace our entire house with Andersen 100 windows. We signed the contract and put a deposit for half the entire amount. After we signed the contract and put in our half deposit, we were informed that 2 of our windows are arched and Andersen 100 doesn't make arched windows. They said we could replace our front of the house windows with Andersen 400 or Simonton. Simonton is supposedly a less expensive window than Andersen's 100 series. But, they quoted us a higher price to replace the front windows with Simonton than we were quoted for the same windows in Andersen 100. We ended up ordering Simonton Windows with grids for our entire house. We had already paid ($15,000) from our original contract and we were locked in with JP Exteriors. On window installation day, we noticed that there was one window at the front of the house missing a horizontal grid. They let us know that they could get us a "great price" to replace the window that we had already paid for with the proper grid. They also left several small projects unfinished including painting the trim around 2 windows, filling interiors holes around 3 windows, fixing an interior window sill that was damaged during window installation. Ultimately, the window that was missing a horizontal grid was replaced at no additional cost to us and the remaining unfinished items were all competed in a satisfactory manner. However the replaced window that was missing a horizontal grid has now been replaced and the vertical grids on the top window are not lined up with the vertical grids on the bottom windows (See photos below.) It looks terrible and is at the front of our house. We wanted to love JP Exteriors based on their 5 star reviews, but unfortunately, we have had a 1 star experience. Update: They have said that they will fix the window so that the grids line up. If this happens, that will be good.

Alex and company have taken care of some stumps in our yard twice and took care of trimming our…read moretrees, as well. He's also a very nice and kind person and consistently goes the extra mile. Especially impressive when I noticed he took the time to cover our new fence so the stump grinding didn't make a mess...nice touch and very thoughtful. It shows he knows his work and pays attention to details. He took care not to let any falling branches affect our fencing while he trimmed our trees, too! Upping stars to 3 for not ghosting entirely, but should not have taken a negative review to get a response. I provided a detailed project specification to this vendor 7 days ago--which is an attractive company given that they are covered by the Yelp Guarantee. They are stated to have an average 10 minute response time with a 65% response rate. Seven days later, I've heard nothing. So I'm either in the 35% of their non-responses or I'm an outlier in their turnaround timeframe. I wish I had better things to say since this is an unfortunate lone wolf one star rating in a sea of five stars for this company, but "real people, real reviews" is the rule.

Dan anchored everything to studs and fixed up the wall and it's been great ever since. Fast forward to today, where I've found myself in a boot situation. I ordered a custom shelf on Etsy that came in many pieces with heavy shelves. We figured we'd see if Dan could install and while he was at it, fix an outlet, fix an outdoor light fixture, hang an irritating heavy photo collage, and fix our bedroom door that keeps pulling apart at the hinges.
