Ben the owner was incredibly easy to work with and made coordinating the quotes between 3 different houses sharing common fences very simple. Ben was very accommodating as we worked though multiple rounds of revisions to the quotes due to new requirements from the various houses. He quickly made the updates and got the revised quotes sent out. From a customer service and price standpoint, Good Neighbors Fence was easily the best of the 3 companies we requested quotes from. As for the quality of the fence, we could not be happier. Ben was on-site at least once or twice a day to supervise the crew throughout the 3 day installation. The actual crew was very professional and completed all the work with good attention to detail. They did a fantastic job keeping the work site clean throughout the day, and always made sure everything was orgainized before they left for the day. As always there were a few very minor details to be addressed on the final walk-through, but each item was quickly resolved by the team with a smile. The team really did make an effort to ensure everything was done to their high standards. I have already recommended Good Neighbors Fence ATX to our friends who are looking to get some fencing installed.

This review is warning to what can potentially happen if you take contractors at their word…read more I reached out Austin Pergola Company in order to see if a carport would be feasible in my neighborhood. There are many carports in my neighborhood that were similar to what I envisioned on the side of my lot. They told me to send them a survey of my home and we would discuss over the phone if it was possible. This should have been the first RED FLAG. In all my questions that involved permitting Lauren would always make sure the discussion was over the phone. On our phone call I was assured that they could install the carport with no issue. They said I could get a permit, but was not required based on the size of the carport. In reality the City of Austin requires ANY structure attached to your house to be permitted! The size is irrelevant! My other concern was that the carport would get too close to the neighboring property. Aaron said based off the survey and on-site visit they did, this would not be an issue. They said they would build a carport with no overhang and they could use my existing driveway in order to avoid going onto the neighboring property. What instead happened is the carport was built with an overhang that went onto my neighbor's property by 4-6 inches. When my neighbor went to sell their home this caused issues for them and they reported the overhang to the city. When I tried to get the carport permitted I was surprised to find that it was basically un-permittable. There are NO exceptions to the 5 foot side setback in Austin! This was contrary to what Austin Pergola told me over the phone. They had told me everything would be done up to code and I could get it permitted if I wanted. I assumed that Austin Pergola Company would know the rules around permitting pergolas/carports within the City of Austin. This company really shouldn't be advising people about permitting and surveys if they have no idea what they are talking about. In all likelihood they do know the rules, they are banking on the fact that most of the time any issues pop up after they have already been paid. In Texas, contractors are not required to have a general contracting license. This means if you are working with unlicensed contractors (such as Austin Pergola Company), they are held to no standard (unlike electricians/plumbers). You as the homeowner are essentially the general contractor at that point. So you have to keep them in line. You have to know all the rules about permitting. You will have to make sure they construct your project on your property. I assumed when you are spending over 10k on a project they take care of you, but that simply isn't the case. If the project you are considering is at all attached to your home or anywhere close to 5 feet from the border of your property I would highly recommend using a different company. Try to find a contractor that will obtain the necessary permits. If a company is unwilling to obtain permits for their own work, it should be a red flag that the work they are doing may be difficult/impossible to permit. At the very least make sure you get everything discussed in writing. Any discussion over the phone and not in the contract is basically irrelevant. Do not take their word about anything related to permitting or surveys. No matter what they tell you issues do come up. I was able to use the carport for only 3 months before I had to take it down and I am now out over $10,000 on this project. The party that obtains the permit is ultimately held responsible for work that does not meet city code.

They came out to do an estimate, drew up the plans, and got us on the schedule for the following week. Communication was prompt and friendly. Installation took two days, one to dig the holes and insert the poles, and another to install the shade itself (both processes are very fast, but I think the concrete needs time to cure). Price was extremely reasonable and there are several colors and sizes to choose from. We are extremely happy with the product and service. Highly recommend!

Amanda was extremely responsive and helped us scope out our initial ask to coordinate an onsite bid walk quickly and helped sort out billing. Travis helped develop our initial concept for a gate into an efficient, turn-key solution that would abide by local codes and fit within our budget. After clarifying our scope, the project was completed at a lightning pace. They staggered the required demo of our old fence until the day they'd be able to erect the fencing to minimize the amount of time our house was exposed to the street. The work crews were very professional and Travis and his team clearly explained the scope each day and progress updates. In addition, Cade and the gate operator crew were outstanding. They set up the motor and made sure all items were functional tested. They did a terrific job commissioning the equipment and explaining how to use it. The commissioning team also noted that our gate operator had a minor issue and contacted the manufacturer for a same-day under warranty solution. The level of service was outstanding, and I was very pleased to have a total turnkey solution. During the construction, Travis would check in with the teams and ensure quality work which resulted in zero punch items at final walk. Travis even performed a final QA check on the operator to make sure operation was up to their quality standard. Every team member was very knowledgeable and professional. After talking to a few pest companies, not only did they get the species of ants wrong (acrobat vs carpenter) which affects the bait being used, but they also can't get their story straight. I contacted them about an ant infestation inside my home. The technician who came out placed sugar bait inside to eliminate colony. He told me that an exterior treatment was not necessary at that time. I accepted that recommendation, due to potential exposure for my active dog. Months later, I called to follow up because the ant problem had not been resolved. I was then told the $216.50 treatment of simply adding sugar bait for the interior also included exterior treatment during the original visit. That was surprising because I was never told an exterior treatment had been done. When I asked where it had been applied, they did not give me a clear answer regarding the exterior. Paying for another treatment isn't the issue. If the ants require another visit, I'm happy to pay for it. My concern is that the explanation of what was actually done has changed. Now, they're saying I have to pay another $216 for their services again. Something just isn't adding up. If there's a reasonable explanation, I'd like to hear it. Based on the conflicting information, I have little confidence in their service.

Our third party inspector noted that many landscape companies do not weld the steel edging to the stakes, but Travis's crew welded all of the connections and the steel seems thicker than what we had at our previous home. We chose Thrive because of other Google reviews combined with our interactions with Travis during the quote and design process. We found the same to be true as other reviewers, which was his crew was very positive, helpful, energetic, and some of the hardest workers on our project. We absolutely love the deck Chris and his crew at Sasquatch Deck and Fence installed - it's a true masterpiece! Chris was exceptional from start to finish: meticulous, knowledgeable, and incredibly patient throughout the entire process, from our initial consultation to all our design changes. He even brought in his network of experts to fix improperly designed flashing discovered during demolition, showing his commitment to quality and problem-solving. We especially appreciate his creativity in adding a backyard stairway and a unique skylift pergola design! The installation crew was outstanding - not only friendly but also highly professional and dedicated to achieving perfection. The finished product is a beautifully designed TimberTech Sea Salt Grey composite deck, laid out in a professional picture-frame style with three-foot aluminum railings. It's robustly supported by iron posts set in concrete footers, with a steel pergola covered by durable galvalume roofing panels. I called a few deck builders around Austin and ended up bringing on Sasquatch Deck and Fence to build out a back deck as an attachment to the house. Chris answered my yelp inquiry and was able to call and talked to me right away just to discuss what I had in mind. From that point on, with constant feedbacks and discussions through emails and phone calls and messages, we finalized on a design and materials and he sent out Nino to start building the deck. Nino is a professional and extremely good at what he does. From design until the last cap is installed onto the railings, he was a perfectionist and worked through long and hot days to get our deck built, and we ended up with a gorgeous deck that is one of my favorite spot now, especially during this time of quarantine and lock down. I can not recommend Chris, Nino, and the whole Sasquatch team enough. Second, he is dishonest about pricing. Third, as the owner, you are responsible for your employees. His worker damaged the paint on my siding using gorilla tape instead of blue painters tape. Not just 1 area, the whole bottom plank adjacent to my porch. We won't even get into the names he called my wife (cuss words) when she called to have the job finished. The job is still not finished. I'm in a service oriented business who recommends good fellow contractors and Todd is not one of them. I have documented the way he spoke to me & my wife & have documented the damage. The job is still not finished & we are to the point we don't even feel safe having Todd back over. Save yourself the trouble & use someone else. Oh & he's been paid in full. I knew from having our other gate replaced, that this job would not meet the minimum. I thanked him for his time and then he texted back with referral of someone who handled smaller jobs. The referral was successful. He came and replaced the gate quickly for a great price. Even though I did not engage Purple Fencing directly, I would strongly recommend them for your fencing needs and will be using them in the future for larger jobs.
