I'm in the process of remodeling my home, and from this experience of dealing with dozens of different contractors I've received a full spectrum education in their world. Here's the gist of what I learned: about half of the contractors are honest.. they make the process fun and are a real pleasure to deal with; the other half are dishonest... they string you along, make the process a hassle, and are a real pain. Chris (the owner) and his team are a shining example of what great contractors SHOULD be. For starters, Chris is an extremely kind and responsive person. From my first phone call with him (he showed up the same-day, on a SUNDAY) to my projects completion day.. he always responded quickly, was extremely polite, and very thorough. (He never gives you those weak 2-word text responses like lesser contractors). Chris helped me design my deck and pick out the best materials for my needs. He used a 3D rendering software that shows you exactly how your deck is going to look in your backyard. It was actually really cool, and helped me make some tweaks to the design before starting construction. After signing my contract, his crew showed up the very next morning. These guys were absolute studs. They worked their butts off from 8am - 6pm every day until the job was complete... wow! Many days I work from home, so I was able to watch them. They didn't rush their work, they were very calculated and meticulous about doing the job the right way (a marathon not a sprint mentality). This doesn't mean they're slow, it means they care about the details and doing things right. His crew also isn't a bunch of 20 year old rookies playing on their phones either. These guys all look to be in their mid 30's and early 40's. Men with lots of experience.. they have families to feed, work extremely hard, and know what they're doing. The craftsmanship was phenomenal. The engineering very structurally sound. The design is beautiful and actually has my neighbors giving compliments. Anytime there was an issue during the project (and there weren't many), Chris and his crew fixed it immediately like it was no problem at all. Easy peasy. Chris did what he said he was going to do, when he said he was going to do it, and charged me what he said he was going to charge. Actually.. he went above and beyond what he said he was going to do, he made improvements to the project beyond what was promised, and even gave me a discount at the very end because of a few minor details.. which he didn't have to do. I didn't complain and I didn't request a discount...that's just the kind of guy he is. Incredible. I'm going to mention one last thing I was going to leave out but I think it's important. Every morning before work began, Chris gathers his crew and they do a group prayer together. They ask each other what's going on in their personal lives, and what they can pray for each other about. Then they read a short scripture out loud together, and they start their day. Unbelievably cool. Why do they call themselves Sasquatch? Because these guys are freaking beasts. This is one of those rare experiences where I had a feeling it was going to go well, and it turned out even better than I had imagined. There's a reason why they have so many 5 star reviews. If you're looking to have a deck built in Austin I'm going to help you... skip the weak fluff and go with Sasquatch.

I chose Sasquatch to add on to an existing deck for a hot tub installation. The deck needed to be level and strong enough to support the weight of the hot tub. Chris and I discussed options before proceeding and the result was perfect! Chris's team is hard working and I was impressed by the speed and quality of their workmanship. Chris was easy to work with and accommodating to changes we wanted to make as the build progressed. Their attention to detail and desire to do things right were evident from the start. We are very satisfied with the results and so glad we went with Sasquatch.

We just bought a new home and Austin and hired Chris to build a deck for us. He was by far the most knowledgeable contractor that gave my husband a quote. His team did high quality work with high quality materials. It was worth every penny and I would recommend them to anyone in the Austin area. Our deck is beautiful!

Sasquatch Deck and Fence installed new fencing, a deck, and a hot tub pad. They got the job done in a timely manner while being flexible with me and always ensuring that I was happy with the work they were doing. I highly recommend them for your project.

I called Chris in a panic when I realized my 2 story outdoor stairs and deck had bad rot. He responded immediately, was incredibly helpful. He came out to meet us and look things over just a day later. I looked at other companies, got other bids, etc and ultimately went with Sasquatch to fully rebuild the stairs and deck. Chris and Pasha are incredibly kind, trustworthy, professional and did excellent work. I'd highly recommend them and will definitely use them in the future.

I started a conversation with Chris who called me and walked through options, he came out late August and provided a preliminary quote. I had gotten multiple quotes. But Sasquatch Deck and Fence had the most extensive reviews and provided a 3D model along with physical samples. We decided on Deckorators Voyage Costa and Aluminum rails. It's not the cheapest but does look fantastic. They used concrete and 3" square steel supports. Build started October 7 tearing out old deck and finished install of new deck in about 10 days. Super happy with the deck, the team, and the process. Highly recommended!

Sasquatch Deck and Fence helped us replace an old wooden deck with new composite material and add a new gate to our fence. They were awesome to work with in every way and the guys that built the deck showed great craftsmanship and attention to detail. We love how the deck came out and look forward to NEVER having to paint or stain again. We'd definitely work with Sasquatch again and highly recommend them.

Amazing quality. You can tell these folks take a lot of pride in their work. Something wasn't lining up after hours of work, and I watched them undo all their work in order to redo it with better result. I don't know when the last time I was so pleased with the results of a home improvement project. I look forward to continuing to work with them for my fencing and patio needs.

We had Sasquatch Deck rebuild our 30+ year old deck. Chris was awesome! He worked with us on several iterations on designs, he was patient and provided excellent advice. Once we had our design locked, his team was able to start almost immediately. The new deck is solid, watching them frame it out, it is clear that they build these things to last! They don't skimp on materials, they anchor it to the ground in multiple places. I'm confident we'll get many decades out of this deck. Once it was completed, it is beautiful! Exactly what we wanted and the team did it very quickly. He even built in dog ramps for our dogs to make it easier for them to get up / down the steps. I highly recommend Chris and his team at Sasquatch! Everything about working with them was awesome!

BUYER BEWARE Experience Feb/March of 2025…read more I do not recommend for EDJ Home Improvement for hire. The front man for this business is Mr. Eric Jones Sr. who is a also a Pastor and will make you feel at ease and promise timeliness and even a little extra here and there BUT once they get your money, it's a different story and the work is not quality work. This company will ask for half of your money up front as a down payment and will not deliver the work and the work that is done will not be of quality. If you complain, you will be chastised, spoken to unprofessionally and your money will already be spent so you have no recourse but to sue or take a loss. I am currently having to hire other contractors to complete work in my home because EDJ took almost half my insurance money and gave nothing but empty promises. He seemed to have went to work immediately after I had given him half of the money I had. He had a storage pod and a trash bin delivered with a few materials the next day. He sent workers to my home and they started the work. The quick action made me think he was on it, however, a month later that's about all the work they did. They did about 3 days' worth of work in 4 weeks. He initially said they HAD to be done within a month by March 31st (which is part of the reason they were hired) and they only had completed 20% of the work within 4 weeks. Over the course of the month, I had to ask Mr. Jones Sr about the budget because even though I had given him $9400 he then asked me for more and to pay him each week even though the work was not being done. He will tell you one thing then another. He told me he would only charge me what the insurance paid me (cost minus depreciation) and that he will recover the depreciation from the insurance at the end. After getting the 50% deposit, he invoiced me for another week's payment when he has done little work. I also found he was using the full cost (with depreciation) to base the deposit amount. He says one thing, then does the other thing. The second week, we had to meet after I told him I was uncomfortable giving him 60-70% of my budget and didn't see any more work being done, because he immediately will start sending you invoices. It's as if they don't have the overhead to for his company and are floating it with customer deposits (that's what I speculated after dealing with them). Since I had not been able to cash the other payment from the insurance yet, we came to an agreement of what work would be done that week with what had already been paid since I was not going to give him any more money. He first tried to tell me the deposit went to materials and some labor, but when I asked him to show me he had spent almost 10k worth of materials, then it's became another story. Additionally, the work was sloppy and not of quality. When I questioned him about gaps that I saw in the way they placed my drywall in my entry way ceiling, he talked to me very informally and offensively and told me he couldn't work on my home if he was going to be questioned. He talked to me condescendingly as if I was too dense to understand drywall and told me I just need to trust and respect him. He also sent me a picture pretending the area I was concerned about was fixed/replaced and it was a lie because I went to my house later after the worker and it had not been replaced. After this unprofessional and dishonest exchange and after we were close to the third week and almost no more work had been done since the first week, Mr. Jones apologized to me for his behavior, but the damage was already done. I didn't feel comfortable communicating with him or completing the project. It caused me a severe amount of stress because I had a deadline to be out the temp house. I asked for my money back and he told me he had already spent it and would not be giving it back. I know he did not spend all of it on materials or labor on my home and I was trapped with him. After trying to negotiate an agreement even though I felt very stressed and uncomfortable with him, he still kept double talking not doing what he said he would do so I told him I would have to get a lawyer and move on. Mr. Jones Sr. knew my kids and I had been displaced for 4 months already from dealing with two home floods and this was the second one. He said it would only be weeks to complete the work and now he has turned the time to complete my home into more months. I have since interviewed two other contractors to finish the work and they both told me they would have to take down the drywall work EDJ did because it was poorly done. Lastly, if you are a single woman - I highly recommend you pass. He is condescending and I felt uncomfortable dealing with him and felt like I needed to get a man to talk to him If someone recommends them know you might not have the same experience

I've never encountered a more unprofessional company. I will not be recommending them to anyone…read moreneeding handyman services. You can blame this bad review on Angel. He is not an acceptable representative of the company. EDIT: just to add more context, here they are acting extremely unprofessional on their own FB page and then trying to threaten me via DM. No, honey. Not today. Make up all the lies you want. An employee, Angel, cut me off this morning. I will admit, I flipped him off afterwards and called him a "fucking asshole," but then he caught up and laughed in my face.
