I'm in the process of remodeling my home, and from this experience of dealing with dozens of different contractors I've received a full spectrum education in their world. Here's the gist of what I learned: about half of the contractors are honest.. they make the process fun and are a real pleasure to deal with; the other half are dishonest... they string you along, make the process a hassle, and are a real pain. Chris (the owner) and his team are a shining example of what great contractors SHOULD be. For starters, Chris is an extremely kind and responsive person. From my first phone call with him (he showed up the same-day, on a SUNDAY) to my projects completion day.. he always responded quickly, was extremely polite, and very thorough. (He never gives you those weak 2-word text responses like lesser contractors). Chris helped me design my deck and pick out the best materials for my needs. He used a 3D rendering software that shows you exactly how your deck is going to look in your backyard. It was actually really cool, and helped me make some tweaks to the design before starting construction. After signing my contract, his crew showed up the very next morning. These guys were absolute studs. They worked their butts off from 8am - 6pm every day until the job was complete... wow! Many days I work from home, so I was able to watch them. They didn't rush their work, they were very calculated and meticulous about doing the job the right way (a marathon not a sprint mentality). This doesn't mean they're slow, it means they care about the details and doing things right. His crew also isn't a bunch of 20 year old rookies playing on their phones either. These guys all look to be in their mid 30's and early 40's. Men with lots of experience.. they have families to feed, work extremely hard, and know what they're doing. The craftsmanship was phenomenal. The engineering very structurally sound. The design is beautiful and actually has my neighbors giving compliments. Anytime there was an issue during the project (and there weren't many), Chris and his crew fixed it immediately like it was no problem at all. Easy peasy. Chris did what he said he was going to do, when he said he was going to do it, and charged me what he said he was going to charge. Actually.. he went above and beyond what he said he was going to do, he made improvements to the project beyond what was promised, and even gave me a discount at the very end because of a few minor details.. which he didn't have to do. I didn't complain and I didn't request a discount...that's just the kind of guy he is. Incredible. I'm going to mention one last thing I was going to leave out but I think it's important. Every morning before work began, Chris gathers his crew and they do a group prayer together. They ask each other what's going on in their personal lives, and what they can pray for each other about. Then they read a short scripture out loud together, and they start their day. Unbelievably cool. Why do they call themselves Sasquatch? Because these guys are freaking beasts. This is one of those rare experiences where I had a feeling it was going to go well, and it turned out even better than I had imagined. There's a reason why they have so many 5 star reviews. He had great ideas and suggestions (improvements on my original idea), and showed me lots of photos and samples of woods and composites. The difference between Sasquatch Fence and the other "Top Rated" fence companies on Yelp is hard to quantify. I've dealt with three fence companies from Yelp in the past 5 years. Sasquatch is my fourth. When we moved into our new home, the fence was about 20 years old and in desperate need of removal and replacement. We had three companies bid the job. Sasquatch came back as the middle bid. Even if they were the highest, we would've chosen them. Why? Sasquatch gives you the choice of the materials along with their recommendation. Hint: Go for what they recommend. We chose a 7/8" cedar board which is the thickest you can get. All posts are galvanized steel and are dug to 40" and cemented with 1 bags of cement per post. The other two companies dug to 30" and used cedar posts (read: they will rot). There are three horizontal beams to support a 6' fence, not two like most fence companies. The fence was installed 1" off the ground. This ensures no touching (read: touching the ground increases the chance of rot). My favorite part is the steel reinforced gates. 100% custom made. The fence is linked underground by steel. It has ZERO flex or warping. It's the nicest gate I've ever seen put together on a wood fence. Aside from this, Chris and his team work HARD. The first guy was usually there before 7, setting up for the day (quietly). They worked to at least 6:30 everyday. There were a few days where they were there until 9:30 PM as it was supposed to rain the next day and they wanted to hit certain milestones. Did I mention his crew was respectful, clean, and truly skilled in their craft? There wasn't a single amateur that was hired for grunt work. These guys know what they are doing. In the end, we had a small issue with the stain not going on properly. Chris stripped the fence and had his best guy come back and do the entire thing (by hand). It's hard to express how impressed I am by Chris and his team. As Austin grows, the quality has gotten worse. You can be mediocre at your job and get a 4 star review. I'm not interested in mediocre. Sasquatch built a 30-40 year fence and we couldn't be happier with the final result. I've referred him out a few times already. I strongly suggest you give him a try. read more

Amazing crew with patience to get things just the way you like them. We re-did one of our backyard's fence sides--which had collapsed during the Fall winds--and split the costs with our friendly neighbors. Given the two couples there were plenty of opinions, wants and needs that might have made the process difficult. Long story short, Chris Brudi and his team went far and beyond everything we asked them to do in order to make us happy. They build the fence to our specs, dealing with many opinions and going around some hard tree trunks and hills. We used 3/4" western red cedar, with galvanized steel posts and did a floating install 91") over the ground to avoid contact with potential termites that plague the Cedar Park area. If there was any question about what I might want as he progressed he would reach out. The deck was supported with heavy duty steel posts so this deck is not going anywhere for a LONG time. I designed an unusual walkway with a slope and 90 degree turn and then ending at a concrete pad. Chris happily took on this design idea and had the guys create an awesome product. I was under a time crunch so he got his guys working on it diligently so I met my target. After he did such a fantastic job on the deck and walkway, I got his company to bid and build an 8' horizontal privacy fence and open horizonal fencing at the walkway with gate.
