I write this review with senior women in mind. I highly recommend RJ AUTOMOTIVE on Seminole and 122nd in largo. I have an 1999 toyota and the car would shake on stopping and the check engine light flashed continuously. I was afraid to drive very far and was afraid I could not afford to fix whatever was wrong. I pulled in and was greeted by the owner, a woman sr. She was so kind that she let me leave my car and drove me home. The next morning as promised at 10am Brian the mechanic that worked on my car called me and told me the car was running and riding smooth. It needed spark plugs and for all the service of examining the car and replacing the spark plugs it cost with tax under $125. I never had this type of service. Several mechanics in the shop and I knew the mechanic that worked on my car! He called me personally. So please check this place out! So happy to share this review with you. read more

The lady at the front desk is very nice but the mechanics don't know what they are doing. They charge you thousands to chase their tail while they take shots in the dark at diagnosis. It's seems they always replace something that doesn't fix my issue and then when I take the car back in. They diagnose and re-charge me for another fix. Not worth the headache. I brought my car here because my front headlight went out. I was greeted by Nick, who runs the place. They replaced the light bulb, did an oil change and tire rotation in a really quick manner. I even had them take a look at a part of the exhaust system because numerous places told me I needed to replace my catalytic converter. Not only did RJ Auto give me the right diagnosis, but they took me in to the shop and showed me exactly what they were talking about. In a day and age where finding a trustworthy and hardworking mechanic, I can honestly say I was thoroughly impressed with Nick and his crew at RJ Auto. They were kind, efficient and they're able to accommodate your every last need. Heck, he offered me his own personal car while they worked on mine if I needed to do something urgent. That's just like my mechanic from back home but he's known me for 15+ years. Nick offered the first time I stepped foot into his shop! RJ Auto is a good place to bring your car. My Sonata had the passenger floor soaked with water. I googled it and found that my air conditioner unit had its hose plugged up and the condensed water ran on the passenger floor. You-tube videos showed that blowing compressed air would break the clog. I called Nick at lunchtime and explained the issue. He said to bring the car in before 5. I did and it was put up on the lift, compressed air blown in the AC hose and it immediately dripped a lot of water for ~5 minutes. Problemo fixed! Recommend coming here. read more

Where to start, do you want your car fixed? Well these are the guys that are going to get it done and done right and correctly. My truck broke down, and i needed help. I am a bit of a hand man, tried to fix it but alas i needed the Pros. Nic and his team got it done. Now we have all run into issues, and mine was a doozy of one, we thought it was one issue and there was a problem there but little did we know what that first issue cause a few others. Now working on anything is a process of elimination, these guys knew where to look and in the correct order, mine was an extremely tough case, it was something that is damn near impossible to happen. But it did and these guys fixed it. I guess when it boils down do you trust the people who are working on your car, well i can tell you that these guys are going to shoot you straight, explaining what happened, how it happened, what they did to fix it, then show you the parts they replaced (something i love). No nonsense, in and out place. Zero frills means no checking your fluids with an oil change or checking your brakes, but it also means no unnecessary upcharging or additional sales. The waiting room is open so it's very hot and all the car smells are there too, so comfort is definitely not a priority. Since I have small kids with me, I really would rather go somewhere with a closed waiting area and AC but that doesn't take away from the quality of work they do. read more

I have been to this location twice now in a little over a year of living the area. The first time was for a turn signal replacement and it was done quickly and very reasonably priced. Today, however, I was much more concerned with awful noises coming from the front end/ wheel area of my car. I do Uber currently and this car is my life blood so I was very worried because I could not afford anything too expensive. Josefine and her team were, again, amazing. They were honest, caring and compassionate to my situation. All of those last words are important but in car repair, two of them are increasingly rare and hard to find: honest and compassionate. Wasn't sure what to expect but I received an honest quote to fix my car and so I figured I would give them a try. They had my car done in two hours! My back passenger side tire and my spare tire had several objects stuck in them and I was in need of a quick, affordable repair. I called several tire shops in the area and was told I would have to wait over 2 hours and the starting cost would be at least $40. However, when I called RJ's, he told me he could get it done in 15 minutes for $15! I thought it was too good to be true but as soon as I pulled in to the shop RJ greeted me, checked out my tire, told me I needed to buy a new tire and recommended a great tire place right down the street in less than 15 minutes! I got a hold of this garage phone number from a referral and was more pleased than can be imagined. Got in right away and they started on my problems immediately. Don't live in the area full time so I found this shop on yelp with a 5 star rating and decided to stop in for a price quote for a tune up and oil changed we needed our our PT Cruiser. Was greeted by Shawn the manager and given a written estimate of services at a fair price. They were able to service the car right then and there and was even given a ride to and back from my condo just down the street while the service was being done! Have taken my vehicle there for a few months. Had front and rear brakes replaced on 09/11/14 - today the brakes went out already after less than 5,000 miles 11/21/14. Was told they would take care of it. I got a call 5 minutes before closing saying it was finished. When I arrived, I was presented with a $263 bill for new pads and rotors On the front. I was told it was because I ride the brakes. (I don't). He then got mad and said I was lucky that he even got the work done because his father passed away and he was supposed to be at a funeral. When I told him that if he was unable to meet an obligation, he should have been up front about it and I would have went next door to a shop that does just brakes and tire repairs. He got mad, threw the brake pads against the wall and told me to "get the f*ck out of here, I cant believe you just said that". I paid the bill, yet he refused to give me old parts back which I requested. Had to call local police, which he finally gave me the pads. The police had to go inside with him to get the rotors back. The rotors were fine. He said they were gauged beyond repair. There weren't any grooves at all. Not warped. My previous repairs were one just under a grand for brakes, ball joints and replace one brake line. And a few weeks later the brake booster went out and that was 460 dollars. read more
