Not too much water and a bit of sand provided a few challenges. The biggest challenges were the narrowness of the fairways. Yowsa, you better hit it straight or you are on someone else's fairway or lost in the woods. Our Minnesota PGA card brought us here and got us green fees with cart for $25. Woot woot! The forward tees were around 4800 yards which is a bit short. Par is 71. We liked the front nine but the back nine had too many hokey holes, ie an 's' shaped hole and a par 5 that turned at a 90 degree angle. There were several five somes ahead of us. Yet we did play in less than 4 hours. Staff was very friendly and helpful. So much beautiful scenery including rock formations, tons of vegetation, flowers, brick bridge, and views from the ridge.

Tee boxes and greens were well kept. I'm not sure if they even allow walking but the distance between holes is immense. We saw bunnies, deer, hawks, eagles, and a turkey. The forward tees were about 5000 yards which is a good distance. Loved the views of the river and bluffs from up high. A signature hole is #17 which is a par 3 that is about 130yds from the forward tees but plays like less than 100 yds because it's straight down. Fun.

A couple of switchbacks on the road bring you to a ridge overlooking the Mississippi River. The tee boxes, fairways, and greens were in great shape. The forward tees were around 4800 yards which is a bit more on the shorter side but the many narrow fairways created plenty of challenges. Staff was friendly. Carts did not have GPS. We had a great experience and would gladly return for another round.

I was immediately struck by how much work went into the main room, acoustically and visually. I was an acoustician before I retired and my wife is an artist and we were both impressed. The greens rolled true. There is definitely water and sand challenges beyond the length. I never found myself in the sand but did find the water on the long par 3s where you had to fly the water to reach the green. Carts had GPS. There were also beverage carts along the course. They have a really nice turn to get food and beverages if you choose. Your green fee includes a small range ball basket. They also have chipping and putting greens for practice. Someone greeted us at the bag drop and loaded up a cart for us. Very nice staff and loved the course.
