STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR FAMILY. I had my father living here for 5 months…read moreand our experience was horrible. I wasn't sure whether or not to listen to the previous bad reviews but we really needed the help since my father could no longer take care of himself 100%. The caretakers were great help but I'm not sure why there are only 2 people expected to take care of over 60 residents?? We paid over $5000 monthly and it was not worth it. They tried to charge us for every single little thing and snuck charges in for things we did not approve. The director and other managerial staff seemed nice but I have witnessed on multiple occasions, upper management bullying their staff on the floor. Get a grip! This place is a scam and just wants your money. Please just get in home care like we are doing now. Save the money and the headache/heartache!

Today I spoke with Preeha the executive director, to clarify some information. Both my grandma and…read moremyself were on speaker to ask some questions to bring us relief. Instead of having patience and compassion while my confused grandmother is trying to calm down, she ridiculed my grandma and me. She would not refrain from interrupting me, even though I showed her respect and did not do that to her. She was rude in the manner she spoke to my grandmother, over some confusion or misunderstanding that my grandmother was having. She showed no empathy and basically said spare her the family drama, "family dynamics". There was no professionalism towards my grandmother which raises concern to think is this how she is with the elderly there, smh. My grandmother struggles to speak due to her stroke, preeha showed no compassion for that. All she did was get upset with my grandmother and interrupted her many times while she was trying to speak. No manners, especially someone of her position should know better and have better control over her personal emotions. If she cannot hold her composure over a phone call imagine her in person. I spoke calm, and just had some questions to ask for my grandmother, preeha was so condescending in the way she spoke to me. My grandmother was getting upset on the phone but I was calmly handling that but preeha on the other end was annoyed and made sly comments of why it took me a week to respond to them. Two sides to every story but she was quick to make accusations and made threats as well. At the end of the conversation she again interrupted my sentence and said irritated loudly, if we had any other questions so she could hang up on us. Funny because she wasn't interested in being calm or respectfully resolve our question that we were trying get cleared up. (she just wanted to hang up). Not a place my grandmother was meant to be at, thank you God for showing us her true colors ahead of time. My grandmother is meant to be at a healthy, loving, not hostile, safe and fun environment which is San Jose location. They are empathic and trained properly to handle emotions of elderly. God bless anyways, especially the patients stuck here.

We joined the list for prospective residents at The Glen at Heather Farms a couple of years ago…read more Since that time I've called their office on a few occasions and have always received prompt, courteous and straightforward answers to my questions. I attended a tour of the Pleasanton facility and besides being impressed with the facility itself, the presentation was excellent. My husband and I attended our "informational brunch" in November and again had a very positive experience. Lots of information, presented concisely and any and all questions were answered in a straightforward manner. There's nothing hard sell/ pushy about these presentations. Following that brunch we met with our residency counselor to figure out what next steps would best suit our situation. She has been excellent! Very patient in answering our questions, showing us the various unit floor plans and discussing our options. She's very knowledgeable about the entire process, of course, but she also understands that making the decision to move into this type of residence represents a significant change for most people and is both empathetic and encouraging. To summarize, our experience to date with The Glen at Heather Farms has been very positive.

My husband and I were on the list from the beginning for Diablo Glen/Glen at Heather Farms. We…read moreattended many of those early meetings very excited about the future prospect of this CCRC community. As time moved forward I became concerned about how this community was being advertised to the public, a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC). The concept is wonderful, but at one of the very large meetings a few years back, while people were asking about when they could pick out there houses etc., I was the only person who asked when the Wellness Center was going to be built which would included Skilled Nursing, Assisted Living and Memory Care. The answer I received was disappointing. Not until after residents moved into the community would the Wellness Center be built. My next question was to ask what would then happen if my spouse or myself needed the extra care a Continuing Care Retirement Community is suppose to provide for us, but is not available? Would one of us then have to find a place for that care outside of Glen at Heather Farms? And if so, how is Glen at Heather Farms a continuing care community if the Wellness Center is not on site yet? I had read that the Center would not be built until about 2 years after residents had moved into the community. Also, if as a couple one of you is in good health, while the other may have health issues, you will not be able to become a resident of Glen at Heather Farms as a couple. You must have a clean bill of health from your doctor. I know of one person who was interested in moving to Glen at Heather Farms with friends. Because that person had some health issues, he had to look elsewhere. Fortunately, he found another CCRC community in Walnut Creek close by and is thrilled being there. I also checked out this other community a number of years ago and they had no problem with residents with health issues moving in. Please have other options available to you, When your time comes to move you won't be disappointed if your health issues are a "no go" to becoming a resident at Glen at Heather Farms.
