Finally after 4 years of thinking about it I finally consulted at a few spots. Serene Smiles Dental was my last stop to get another opinion on it and make sure the quotes I was getting elsewhere was within the same price range. What made me ultimately decided on this spot to go through with my treatment was how knowledgeable and kind everyone at the office was. Dr. Phu was the one that did my consult, Christine was the one that that helped me with the price break down and helps with my scans and the a kind gentlemen did all of my other scans. They weren't pushy, they told me that I could take the price breakdown home and think about what was going to be best for me either paying in full, payment plans and/or insurance. Glad I decided to do one last consult here. Love the space and loved the team. Would recommend to all of my friends or family. Also wanted to note, I decided to do the suresmile aligners!

They suggested addressing three cavities with fillings, which I returned for during my second appointment, and the entire procedure was executed smoothly and comfortably. The office was exceptionally clean and professional, and I was truly impressed by all the modern equipment and technology they utilized. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and ensured I felt at ease throughout the entire process. This is undoubtedly one of the best dental experiences I have encountered, I highly recommend visiting them!

I came here on a family recommendation but did not have a great experience with the office…read more Dr. Phuong is very kind as are the staff here. Very friendly and seem to genuinely care - I'll give them that. However, this was my first time at this office (I'm looking for a new dentist after moving) and immediatly the assistant took me to a room and said "we're going to do a huge amount of x-rays so settle in." I asked to confirm that they were covered by insurance and she said she'd check. It took 40 minutes to do more x-rays than I've ever done at any dentist office. I again said "and you're sure these are covered" and the assistant said "yes, your insurance covers this set once every 5 years." I was annoyed. They cover these once every 5 years and you're using this benefit and I haven't even been introduced to the dentist yet? Seemed very strange and like they were just glad I was there so they could bill the insurance. The cleaning itself was long as well. An hour. It was done by Dr. Phuong AND an assistant. I've never had two people for a cleaning. I asked why so long and they said they always schedule an hour. They use the electronic tooth scraper thing but they had a separate water pick, separate sucker, and separate mirror all in my mouth at the same time. I have a bad gag reflex and this was too many instruments in my mouth at once. The assistant held the water tube, and rested the suck on the side of my mouth, which kept getting twisted. I told them of my gag reflex repeatedly but it seemed there was not much they could do. I explained that my previous dentist had an electronic scraper too but we didn't have separate water and sucker in my mouth the whole time too. They found this surprising. I asked a hygienist friend about this later and she said it sounded like the electronic scraper was broken as they always have the water built in. She said it's really dentists choice whether they have the sucker in your mouth the whole time. My last dentist didn't (and certainly never hung it on the corner of my mouth). Bu the kicker is that a few days later, I got a message from the receptionist that said I have a $50 copay and my insurance will cover cleanings every 3 months (instead of 6) so I should call her to schedule an earlier appointment. First of all - why would I come in twice as often (4 times a year!) just because my insurance would pay for it? My teeth are in good shape. I haven't had a cavity in over a decade. I'm young. I'm not going to do that just because my insurance will cover it. Secondly, I've never had a co-pay for a cleaning. I called my insurance to see if something had changed. They said that this dentist billed for "periodontal cleaning" instead of "profalaxis cleaning." I called and asked the receptionist and she said "oh, that's because you have a history of deep cleaning." Um, no I do not. I've never had a deep cleaning in my life. Even if I had - why would you charge more for something just because someone had a history of something else? This cleaning was just like all the other cleanings I've done in my life. She said it must be a mistake, she asked if I was sure I hadn't had a deep cleaning before (Yeah, I'm sure!), and she'd get ahold of my insurance to fix it. I feel like this office was more interested in what they can bill my insurance for than my actual care. I won't be returning.

My wife and I have both been patients of Dr. Mai for 2 or 3 years…read more We started there when I had a crown come off, and got an appointment a short time afterward. That visit ended with an extraction. One of the first things that I noticed was that Dr. Mai is very focused on pain management. In that visit and subsequent visits, there were a few times when she stopped a procedure, administered more anesthetic, and waited for it to take effect. That's certainly good for the patient. Our most recent visit occurred after my wife had a crown come off. That too required an extraction, because the tooth underneath had decayed too much to preserve. Again, Dr. Mai handled the whole procedure without pain for the patient. In a follow-up visit to fit a partial denture, Dr. Mai spent nearly an hour with 4 or 5 or more cycles of fitting, getting comments, taking the device out and removing some of the support structure and smoothing the edges. She didn't stop until the patient reported that it felt good. After an initial exam, Dr. Mai takes plenty of time to discuss your issues and show you current imagery of the affected areas. This includes telling the patient the treatment options and the pros and cons of each. A staff assistant computes and prints a cost for the various options and gives you ample time to decide, and will allow you to go home and give it more thought. The charges, by the way, are very reasonable, especially for the amount and time of work involved. I think we have both seen Dr. Mai on all her visits. If we did see Dr. Phuong on any of them, she treated us just as well. One extra gesture that stood out -- my wife is diabetic, and on one lengthy visit she started to feel symptoms of low glucose (hypoglycemia). Dr. Mai went to her office and brought back a nutritional shake that she had brought in for her own lunch. That kindness and compassion typifies this whole practice.
