We highly recommend R Pro Electric. We hire them to redo the entire electrical in our house and install canned lighting in all the rooms. They were thorough and meticulous. Wouldn't set a consultation. Only wanted to set and charge for a service call. Told me I wouldn't find any electrician that would come onsite and give an estimate. They were totally unprofessional and do not know how to conduct business. A representative told me they will charge a $178.00 service fee to come to my property. His justification was because he "does not want to come to my property, provide me with a quote and I go off and use it for someone else."... I said "I understand"... So, to change the conversation towards working around his position I began discussing the work items and he gave me a back hand quote of $20-30k. I said, "Look, I have no issues with the cost and I understand your hand-waiving here, I want the issues fixed and up to code...But I have an issue with your $178.00 service fee. Rather than log role and say maybe $80.00 and we'll role it into the job if you hire me (which I was hoping he'd say) --- He said "bye". Totally unprofessional and they lost a customer for ever! This company must clearly be understaffed and not have enough highly qualified Electricians .... But next time, simply say hey "we're overbooked and I don't think we can take this job" -- Giving quotes is the cost of doing business. Most electricians provide this for free. read more

I blew my circuit breaker and I thought I needed to replace it. I booked to have a different company to come out to look at my problem and it was for the next day and they would not tell me how much it would cost. So I went on Yelp and found R Pro Electric and the front desk told me they were pretty booked but she would try to a hold of Rick to see if he could squeeze me in. I talked to Rick and he said I should push the breaker harder to the off position and then back over to the on position. This worked and my power was restored. He said he would feel bad coming out to my home to flip a switch and charge me $175. There are a few good people left out there and I found me one. Thank you so much R Pro Electric. We called Rick and Ninous about doing a job for our company. We needed some drop downs installed so that we could be within fire code and regulation. It was kind of a hot job, since my manager had been lagging on giving me the ok to call somebody, but these guys came out quickly, gave me a quick quote, and were ready to work. The quote itself was far better than what anybody else quoted me, and the work was slated to last maybe two days. Ninous and his guy came in early morning to do all the loud stuff, so as to not disturb our office, and then were done in just one day. I hired Rick to do GigE throughout my newly bought house. He installed 3 GigE ports and 3 Co-Ax ports in my house and now I have cable TV almost everywhere in my house. I can seamlessly use DLNA within the house without worrying about jitter or playback issues because of wireless distances. My wireless speed increased too, mostly due to GigE connection from AP to the Internet. I used to get 32Mbps earlier, now my speeds range from 132Mbps using 802.11n or 178Mbps using 802.11ac. His knowledge about Layer 1 issue is absolute, he work ethic and professionalism is beyond words. He got the entire house wired within a day. I needed to have my main PG&E panel upgraded to accommodate solar panels being installed. I met Ninous and Osh. They were both very pleasant and professional. They fully explained to me what they were going to do. The new upgraded PG&G box needed to be relocated to be in compliance with California code. In the area of where the old panel was, there was another panel that was used to supply a hot tub I had several years ago. Also, there were many various cables that belonged to the various cable companies I have had over the last 30 years. Not only was the work for the new PG&E box done but they removed the spa box and cleaned up all of the various cables and wires, and they painted my house where the old boxes were. They cleaned the entire area and carted off the debris. I would most definitely use R Pro Electric again and I highly recommend them. read more

We (my husband and I) recently completed a kitchen remodel and as part of that job we had to update our electrical boxes so we had a separate electrical line for each appliance etc. and all the electrical wiring had to be replaced. As a customer, you want to know that your calls will be returned in a timely manner (both before and after the work has been completed) and Rick exceeded my expectations in this area. I recall calling him on Christmas Day and leaving a voice mail message and he not only returned my call within an hour (which of course I did not expect) but then insisted on coming out to take a look at the issue I contacted him about telling me he could come by before going to his Christmas celebration with his family. Great job. I generally don't write reviews but for R Pro i had to. My panel box died on Friday night PGE came n cut the line. I my wife on Saturday started calling electric companies n electricians once we saw sun. All of them as expected were not answering, a few called n said they cannot do it or will come after a week and then i had Rick call me on Saturday 3pm n i explained him the issue. Rick said he would visit on Sunday morning as he lives in Fremont too. He came and saw n knew what it is n said we simply have to replace the box. He gave me a quote which was a $500 more than normally he would charge. But no regrets it was worth it. He got his guys on a Sunday morning finished the job. Both his guys on site were very courteous n professional. Rick spoke to PGE guys got the inspection scheduled 1st thing on Monday morning. Next day called me to say inspection was done, job completed and the power was back ON. Well the funniest part was Rick charged me $500 extra coz he was pissed off as another electric company came on site same time on Sunday morning when Rick reached my home n they just opened the box n did not close n left those guys gave me a exorbitant quote . As expected Rick was mad at me n told me i have to charge you $500 extra. Again as i mentioned it was worth it. I have seen electricians who come to site , check your issue and then tell you scary stories n add a bit and hike up the price and still does not complete the job properly and take money. We really enjoyed working with Rick and his crew. We had our entire house rewired to bring it up to code and upgrade the main service panel, and the house was built in the 1920's. We have Osh from R Pro Electric troubleshooting a short-circuit in one of our bathroom. He was able to find the problem quickly. The bathroom happen to have no GFI plug install at all. He installed new GFI plugs to all the bathrooms. He also troubleshoot a ceiling fan problem and found the fan itself was bad. All this time, we thought there were no power to the fan. Now that we know it was the fan, will need to buy a new fan and have R Pro Electric installs it. Osh is awesome, he explained everything as he fixing it. read more

As it wasn't an emergency, I opted to just book the next open slot. On the day of service, Mary called to update us on the time of arrival. Within a few minutes, Osh diagnosed our problem. He also took a look at our panel (which is 30 years old), but said it was in good shape and there would be no need to replace at this point. He also told us the requirements for clearance around the panel (we had a rack too close), and took a look at the recessed lighting possibilities in two of our rooms. I booked with them over the phone and my husband wanted them to come out and physically view the property before going with R Pro and they accommodated the request. They got us a quote in a good time frame ( we looked for electricians towards the end of summer and many were busy, some came out to give a quote and we never got the quote from them). R Pro got us an initial quote and when more work was requested amended the quote as needed so that there were no surprises.
