Now, I'm trapped here . I can't move if I wanted to. The fear these people have caused my children is traumatizing. Don't rent here. They'll let the plumbing leak on your head and BLAME YOU. Then they'll say you aren't cooperating . Then they will mock your disabilty in front of other people . I was mocked more than once . Trauma and stuck . Do not expect any kindness . Do not rely on the positive reviews for this building. In my experience, they are not an accurate reflection of what it is like to live here. There is ongoing construction that was not clearly disclosed before I moved in. Construction activity is paused during tours, which creates a misleading impression. Once you are a resident, the noise and disruption are ongoing and unavoidable. Management offers gift cards for positive reviews. Many residents are afraid to post honest feedback, fearing retaliation. After I posted my own negative review, I personally experienced a clear change in how management treated me. The property manager has been one of the most challenging parts of living here. Not safe for people of color or women... Today I was visiting a family member and while entering the building I was stopped by a white bald man driving a Porsche who told me I could not enter without being "buzzed in" (the call box was not working for me although I had the code.) He first stopped my minor child as we walked in and then I looked back to see what was happening, I asked the man if he was the manager, which he wasn't, and then told him I was visiting family and to please mind his business. He tried to go back and forth with me until I realized he was just a racist and called him as such. The altercation actually crazy to me because I'm a mixed woman who is racially ambiguous looking typically is white presenting but today I wore my natural hair texture... and this man stopped my brown child from entering the building first, all the sudden it all made sense... What kind of man harasses a daughter and mother? We were both well dressed and did not look suspicious, just ethnic.... I would hate to live with neighbors like these! read more

I recently moved into this building after an extensive search for a quiet and comfortable place to live. Unfortunately, just two days after moving in, I received an email informing me that an eight-month-long construction project had begun--something that was never disclosed during the leasing process. In addition to the relentless daily construction noise, dust, and chemical smells, there is also an ongoing plumbing issue involving leaking pipes that was similarly withheld prior to signing. When I asked why none of this was disclosed upfront, I was referred to a vague clause buried deep in my 50-page lease--a clause I find deeply misleading and, in my opinion, ethically questionable. As a licensed real estate professional familiar with California law, I'm aware that tenants cannot legally sign away their right to quiet enjoyment of their home. The current situation is a clear violation of that right. I asked management for a rent reduction and the ability to cancel my lease. They refused the rent reduction but did offer to let me terminate the lease without penalties and get my full deposit back. While I appreciate that, this entire situation could have been avoided had they simply been transparent from the start. Moving again so soon is a major hassle--financially, emotionally, and logistically. It's not as simple as just picking up and leaving after investing time, energy, and resources into relocating. I should never have been put in this position. I made every effort to resolve this matter directly and in good faith. While the building manager has been responsive and professional--promptly replying to my concerns--this situation is clearly beyond his control and not his decision to make. Unfortunately, higher-level management has not been receptive or accommodating. At this point, I feel I have no choice but to explore other avenues. read more

R3 by CLG - Dusty mess - Apartments Near Me - Los Angeles, California

The garage has been broken into 4 times in the last 5 weeks. Thieves have broken into the bike storage room, unlocked cars, and storage units owned by residents here. The thefts are taking place more often the longer I live here. You can't leave anything in your car or your window might get smashed (happened a few months ago to the car parked next to mine). I personally don't feel safe living here in this "luxury" apartment building, especially considering that anyone who can access the garage can get access to the elevators to all the floors in the building. We are supposed to have security on site at night, but the security company is shared by 2-3 buildings down the road. It's pretty obvious to anyone when the security is not here and they're at one of the other buildings. I was told months ago that the security situation would improve, but I feel it's only gotten worse. read more

What CLG has done with R3 is really top notch. It's located in a great neighborhood, within minutes from the water and a Costco right around the corner. Amenities here are great, with a good sized fitness center, outdoor Zen garden, and my favorite part, the rooftop pool! It's well decorated and love all the colors that were chosen. The leasing and regional team are GREAT! They've been very helpful in our apartment search. I would highly recommend! read more

[update] we were compensated for the exact number of days of construction after 83 days of the incident. Okay, I've waited long enough to write this review. If you are considering to move in to any CLG owned properties, feel free to read what I went through to decide if it's worth the investment. On the night of July 11th, our place was flooded with water when the sprinkler from the fourth floor went off. Fortunately, it seeped through the walls and ceilings so it didn't completely destroy our place. However it was enough to have our rug and few things thrown away. But it wasn't enough to report to our home insurance. Due to this incident, they had to tear down the affected walls while removing all the things from the only closets we have in our studio. Living in a studio loft, we had to lay everything out on the floor. The bed area ended up becoming our only area of free space. In addition to this mess, they added fans and humidifiers that had to be left on which brought on more mental stress as the noise level was equivalent to the sound of highway traffic. Due to this, we constantly had to find a dog sitter as any pet owners could imagine the stress/safety on an animal with loud noises plus all the stuff laying out on the floor. Since they claimed this was legally a habitable living situation, we were kept in our own place while the fixes were happening for the rest of the month. Even the representative from my home insurance was surprised when I told him we were still at our home during the construction. At certain points we had to use the kitchen sink when the bathroom sink wasn't available. I've never felt so scattered and stressed especially living in a 'luxury' apartment. It also didn't help I was working overtime during all this. Although for last few days of construction we were relocated to model rooms for temporary stay, the discomfort still existed not being able to come to our private home. Plus we had no WiFi, couldn't get work done inside. In addition, we were locked out one night because they forgot to leave us a key. Have you ever had to open up plastic wall covers with paint/construction equipments lying on the floor just to collect more of your clothes for the week? In addition, buying water, temporary utensils, food to live in a model room with no kitchenware? Plus, trying to figure out where to leave our dog while dealing with full time jobs? These are the variables that CLG does not account for. My mental distress will not be covered by the rent compensation I am rightfully owed. This is the last time I will speak on this matter. This negative experience has left me a lasting impression of CLG living with the construction and delay in reimbursement/update. As they have requested I revise the review to indicate their exact rent compensation for the number of days from the incident, I have also provided a 100% accurate review of the experience that I still struggle to get over. P.s. The positives of R3 I will say is the staff who keep this place functioning when there are issues with the building. read more

[update: Gaea asked my friend/neighbor to make me remove this review and she'd pay him $500. Trying to forget this place, I did. He had to ask several times for the $500, and since they are so shady here is my updated review] Lessees Beware! Avoid at all costs. Red flags ahead: -Rude Management: CLG has the rudest people working for them. They will lie and try to squeeze every penny out of you. They are very cheap and greedy. When I looked at the place, the manager, Allison, told me I could get $100 off rent since I would be one of the first people to move in. Had this in email. When I was ready to sign the lease Gaea, the regional manager, revoked this. Additionally they were offering the 1st month free since it was a brand new bldg, and Gaea tried to back out of that too. She also lied about the studio I looked at being one of only two studios in the building so I would sign. Turns out that was a lie and I got stuck on the first floor which is not suitable for living. I asked about the area behind the balcony and whether anyone would have access back there, they said "absolutely not," only management would. Of course, people were constantly walking the "emergency exit area" day and night, and since the building is cheaply made and all concrete you can hear EVERY sound. I tried to reach out to CLG, but they instead ignored me, hung up the phone on me and had their attorney send me a letter and verbally harass me on the phone. These people are ruthless and will try and intimidate you. When I moved out, they charged me for paint even though they are not allowed to charge for paint--I should have received my entire deposit back but did not. Crooks. -Overpriced/unsafe: Do not be fooled by how this building looks on the outside. They have cheaply made this building to where you can hear everything from your unit. I honestly heard a screw drop from another unit as if it had fallen right by my ear (not exaggerating). They skimped out on a lot of things and you can tell they tried to cut costs at every corner. They told us they hired security to guard the building all hours. They changed that to night time, and then they never spoke of it again. I think I saw security there just once or twice. Once, the maintenance man unlocked my door to come in and luckily I was home and literally pushed the door shut, did not even request maintenance, super scary. During the time I was there, which was for over a year, I lost count of how many break-ins there were in the garage. Bikes got stolen all the time and cars were broken into. R3 of course made sure to clarify that they're not responsible. -More dogs than people: If you want a peaceful place to live, this is not it. Dogs are barking 24/7. Smells like dog piss. -Extra warning re 1st floor: If after reading all this, you're still going to move in, do NOT move in on the first floor. If you care about your health and well-being, avoid it at all costs. I learned the hard way. There are offices on the first floor and though the company moved out after a month (fraudulent business, I guess like attracts like in this case) they were always taking calls right by my door and one of them even flipped me off and yelled at me when I asked him to take it elsewhere. Told management and they of course took his side (smh). Also, I do blame myself for looking at the place in the evening when it was dark out. You will never get any, literally zero, sunlight. Even during the brightest time of day you will have to turn on all the lights. It is facing a brick wall. Everything is concrete so absolutely no cell service (must use WiFi calling if you have it). It is like a jail cell. Super depressing place. Also, you have no privacy as people walk behind the balcony and look in and let their dogs poop right behind the balcony. Further, it is NOT a one bedroom as they like to call it. There is no enclosed bedroom! You can find better places, actual one bedrooms, in MDR or Santa Monica for less than what R3 will charge you. Finally, the garage is right below and you hear every car go in and out. Worst of all, there is some a$$hole with a bike who leaves at 3am and revs his motorcycle and comes back an hour later only to come and go again--odd ppl. -Bad energy: You will feel it if you visit. This place has really bad energy, if you believe in that stuff. Everyone who visited me would say that, and I started to sense it as well. Started permeating my life. -Positives (sort of): I hate being so negative, but this place is deserving of it. The only plus is the rooftop jacuzzi, but my friend told me it has been unavailable for the past 8 months since there was a leak. There's always something broken or leaking at this place (or the fire alarm is set off at least once a month and you have to exit the bldg). Lastly, Allison is a nice person and she does try to help when she can, the only downside is she usually doesn't have much say sadly, so you're kind of stuck. read more

We were re-locating from the east coast and looking for a nice place, in a nice neighborhood, near the beach, for a reasonable price. R3 ticked all of the boxes. It's a brand new complex - with great deals on 2 bedroom apartments with a view. The CLG group has been very reasonable in helping respond to our requests, and Allison, Ashley and team are great communicators via email and the online portal they setup to share updates with the community. The residents are also very friendly and frequently extend invites to neighborly gathering. The area is also very pet friendly, which can be a challenge to find in Venice/MDL - due to busy roads. I highly recommend R3 for those considering a move to Venice/MDL - who are looking for something comfortable, new, spacious and accommodating. read more

I moved here over a year ago and LOVE it. The management team & maintenance staff is very responsive to all our requests - whether it's little maintenance repairs or asking for more cleaning services in the public spaces. We ask, and it's taken care of. They've done so much to make this a community - wine tasting nights, bbq's, movie nights, rooftop yoga... we've met many good friends in this building, and are so happy to call this our home. I really don't understand the people that complain about this place... try living in NYC for a while, and you'll see that this place is run really well. You always get complainers in any building that complain about everything, but those people would complain about wherever they are living. I'm super happy to be here. read more

My wife and I were some of the very first residents to move into R3, so we've seen the good, bad, and ugly that happens when you open a new building. Through it all, the management team has gone out of their way to take good care of us, frequently going above and beyond to address our concerns or needs. From the property manager (Allison) to the maintenance lead (Kurt), the staff is professional, friendly, and proactive -- and they genuinely care about residents and the community feeling in the building. The design of the units was a major draw for us, too. We love the open floor plan, industrial design, large windows, and deck. While the amenities aren't as robust as some buildings, the oversized hot tub and rooftop deck are great, and the on-site gym is just fine for most of my workouts. It's rare to find the combination of a great neighborhood, a beautiful building, modern/light-filled units, AND a great management team. For that reason, I'd recommend that you put R3 on the top of your list in your apartment hunt. read more

I just relocated from Chicago and the management team was flexible with my move in date which really helped me. I have been living at R3 for close to three months and my experience has been great. The building is safe, quiet, and clean. The amenities make it easy for me as a remote employee. The gym has great equipment and the roof top BBQ / hot tub area give me a place to relax at anytime during the day. I am very happy with the decision that I made with R3. The people who work here really work to accommodate all of the different personalities (and dogs!) that live here. The gym and free yoga is amazing! We have lived in R3 for a little over two years now and have had a great experience. The building itself is super clean and offers a beautiful rooftop deck and a 24-hour access gym. Overall we have had a great experience, which is why we keep renewing our lease. I've been living in R3 for about 3 months now and so far so good. The building itself is pretty nice as it's brand new, and they definitely opted for some luxurious touches - such as the thick carpeting in the units, the glass balcony railings, and cool bathroom tiling. Plus high ceilings and loads of natural light no matter what kind of view you have. With amenities like a roof spa, grilling space, and a gym, plus access to the R2 building amenities as well, why would I ever need to leave a CLG property? The management team was great to work with during the leasing process, answered all of our questions, didn't try to be overly pushy or salesy, and haven't up and disappeared now that the building is full. In fact, they're hosting the residents for bi-weekly happy hours with free booze and 6 ft burritos. There have been some growing pains that come with a new building re: trash collection and parking assignments, but it hasn't affected my life at all - just management's. My only complaint is the tandem parking - just personally annoying to remember that I have to move my car around if I happen to be leaving earlier that day. Went here to check out the new building. I would highly stay away from this complex. 1. On the first day that we came to check out the building, a current resident barged in and told the leasing office how upset she was with her neighbor. The leasing office could have cared less. They simply said, "Oh sorry," and simply went back to talking to us!! How awful! The current resident even told us, "Do yourself a favor and DO NOT move into this new building. This is my third time complaining and they have not done anything." Apparently, she has a neighbor who likes to stay up until 3 in the morning blasting his music. The way the leasing office treated their current (not to mention new since this place just opened) tenants, already showed that they don't respect or care for their tenants. 2. They constantly list their prices at $2,450 but this isn't even true. My bf told them budget would be $2,500 for a studio and they said this was possible... unfortunately, we later found out that their minimum was around $2,700 for a studio. 3. They are highly unprofessional. We visited twice and put down our numbers. They never called back and we had to consistently call them...I believe my bf called a little over five times... 4. The facilities are really lacking. They have no pool; they call it a "dip pool" but it's actually a hot tub. Overall, items 2-4 could be looked past at but seeing the way the office treated the current tenant made me afraid for how they would really treat my bf once he moved in. read more

I just moved into the r3 apts and love them! Its a new complex that has all the amenities one could want. The staff in the office, Allison and mike made the move in easy and I appreciate it! This place rocks!!! The "A" team did an outstanding job along with Holly from The R2 two doors away (don't worry Holly I'm tagging R2 and you as well) from the application to move in. The owner created a place that I can only assume was inspired by Feng Shui (look it up), yoga (I'm a yoga teacher so I notice this stuff), openness and all of this reflects in the awesome active people that have filled the place in just a couple months. The neighbors rock, it is pet friendly, clean, and just an all round good vibe. I also checked out The R2 which is also the same vibe, it is just for my needs the unit at R3 worked out better (3 peeps and two service animals). There is also an R1 which I have not seen, but I'm sure as the developer seems to "get energy" when they created these lofts it is just as nice. I do Love The R3 though and if you're looking for brand spankin new digs it is worth checking out. Namaste read more
