When I first moved out of this apartment, I was actually planning on leaving a decent review, however, my post move-out experience with the manager Sandy was absolutely horrible and convinced me otherwise. DO NOT MOVE INTO THESE APARTMENTS. Their business practices are misleading, shady, and they will take every dollar they can from you before you leave. I will share my entire experience from start to finish. When I first toured the apartment it appeared to be a beautiful, quiet and clean complex that was well maintained and managed. I let the employee I toured with know that I was just looking for a 6 month lease for school and he assured me that they could make that happen. The co-living seemed like a decent option considering it was affordable, and I'm always on the go and really just needed a place to sleep. I also agreed to pay an extra $175 a month for an assigned parking spot in the garage to keep my car safe and secure. (Review continued in photos) read more

C1 is great, but Sandy is amazing. She makes C1. She's quick, smart, efficient, and gets the job done. We stayed longer because Sandy was so good. Would recommend C1, and obviously Sandy to anyone. On the building side of things- the units are beautiful, new and clean. If something breaks down (which it never does because everything is new) maintenance is on it in a heartbeat. You can't hear your neighbors as the construction is solid (3rd floor). The activities to bring residents are so nice and the coffee and croissants once a month is the cherry on top. 10/10 read more

Still waiting on my deposit almost a month after moving out. They also tried to charge me for rent after I moved out and I got hit with a fee. If you give it a try start with shorter term to see how it is before you commit, it totally depends on luck what sort of people you will live with depending on the specific unit of you are doing coliving. I was only there 3 months but It was more stress than anything dealing with some really dysfunctional roommates and bureaucratic bs. read more

This is a lovely modern building with a lot of great amenities. Utilities included with rent. Rooftop jacuzzi with great hours. EV charging available. Well equipped gym with good hours. I lived here for 3 months and would highly recommend this place. They are offering breaks on lease rates and terms for COVID - if you suddenly need a new place to live in LA, you should consider this AMAZING spot in a pinch. - New, modern, clean, high-quality building. - Rooftop jacuzzi, bbq, and lunge area (restricted for COVID) - 100% app-integrated community, with great connectivity for your digital, WFH life. This place is a 10 minute walk from Venice, and has tons of walkable stuff. There is co-living (I did this - loved it) and private suites. If you are the sort of person that doesn't tolerate other lifestyles - you may want a private suite. Co-living is great if you want to meet different people from around the world who are up to all kinds of fun and interesting things. The staff is also great and responsive, everyone here is really dedicated to making the best community possible during a really tough time. read more

Moved in during the transition between the old to new management, the difference is Apparent, new guys are resourceful, attentive, informative and just genuinely down to earth, I exceptionally like the fact that all staff members take ownership of your request and follows up. Having experienced the old management this is a breath of fresh air. The area is great with all local stores within walking distance , it's also just a 10 min jog to the beach. The building has been designed with a lot of thought in mind, with great spaces provided for the artiste or those working for home , not to mention the dog walking area , which is a lifesaver if you are a pet owner who doesn't want to walk their dog out on the street at night. So many positives hard to list them all! Utilities included, Furnished, Weekly Cleaning for Common Area, Basic Toiletries and Cleaning Supplies Offered, In-house Washer and Dryer, Very Clean and Modern, Beautiful Rooftop w/, warm dipping pool, Occasional community-wide parties (Cinqo de Mayo!), Coffee Bar in Lobby, etc etc etc.... Loved this building when I first moved in and it was under Starcity ownership! Unfortunately, After the acquisition by Common everything has gone completely downhill. No security, broken hot tub for months, tenants being charged incorrectly for rent and not receiving refunds, garbage overflowing in the common areas, dog runs out of poop bags, packages being stolen, no follow ups or responses to maintenance issues, cleaning service not leaving supplies and not even wiping down the counters upon visits. I hope this changes or I may look to get out of this agreement. read more

I love this place so much that I've renewed my lease a couple of times for a few years. Unfortunately, I had to move out immediately and break my contract due to family emergency and Sandy helped me out big time! I loved living here! Both the communal and private spaces are beautiful. The space is really constructed to give the tenants the very best apartment living experience at the very best price. For security, there is a key fob to use for the complex itself and your apartment door, then you are given a code for your bedroom door. I always felt safe and secure here. In the lobby, they provide free coffee and espresso 24/7 and there is a mini store for snacks. Additionally, there are a couple of well-lit desks with convenient plugins nearby. In the sitting area, there are board games and coffee table books that will make you want to travel. Of course, the amenities are great: rooftop space with fire tables, heaters, dipping pool, dining spaces, and a grill. --and you can't beat the view! There's another similar area with outdoor games on a lower level, and they have a decent fitness center too. Also, I have a small ESA dog, and there were plenty of nearby green spaces to take him out and a pet waste disposal can is provided for residents. Another thing that I feel like doesn't get mentioned and should be is the absolute perfect location of the apartment. This area is so walkable, I literally walked everywhere--even to get my groceries. There are coffee shops, many restaurants, two grocery stores, a small mall, Barnes & Noble, and a movie theater ALL RIGHT THERE!! This was SO convenient during my stay. As for parking, I personally did not get a garage space. I always found parking across the road behind the Skechers store. There were no signs restricting parking there, and I never had a problem with it--but I really don't know if I just got lucky on that. I probably would have added a garage space if I'd renewed my lease, but I ended up moving out of state. Obviously, I loved living in this space. I had great luck roommate-wise. So nice and respectful! Also, the staff was great! The older gentleman who gave my tour was so kind and friendly. He was genuinely happy for me when I got to move in. The manager, Sandy Mendez, is phenomenal! Throughout the application process, she was so helpful and really worked with me and my situation to find lease terms that would work for me. After move-in, she was friendly and would always ask if I needed anything. She personally helped me get wifi set up on my devices. Unfortunately, my father passed away unexpectedly, and I needed to leave the month before my lease was up. Sandy was so kind and comforting during this difficult time. She will never know how much her compassion meant to me. She worked with both the company and me to work out an acceptable plan for me to be able to break my lease a month early. She truly is the best, and I appreciate her genuine empathy so much. So, there is my review. Every morning I woke up and every day I got home, I would think or say, "I love this place. The property manager Sandy is amazing. She has been nothing but accommodating since I have arrived. She is very patient, and actually takes a interest in the tenants. She is professional and easy to get along with. Her work ethic speaks for itself, as I have seen her go above and beyond her job duties on several occasions. I lived there for 6 months but moved out to be closer to work. Where to begin? Management is very kind, helpful, and responsive, ESPECIALLY Sandy. Whatever you're paying her, it's not enough. Super kind during the tour and helped me make the decision to live there. Also really helpful with the move out process and made everything clear. My experience with apartment management with other places were extremely negative and approaching them was super challenging and it was a huuuge relief to know that management here was kind, so thank you ever so much. The rooftop pool is beautiful, especially that view. The place is super close to a handful of beaches and a plethora of really good restaurants. To C1 management, I'd like my security deposit back you've kept for normal wear and tear paint and patch. You are thieves! The hot tub keeps breaking, the fridge was broken for 3 months, no apartment soaps and toiletries as promised and inclusive of the rent, terrible room mates, over charges on my monthly rent. I do not recommend C1 Coliving, I lived in Coliving at C1 for 8 months as an in between while I sort out a new job. They placed 5 different roommates in the span of 8 months ! in the 4 bedroom + 1 room with no windows and 2 bathrooms to share. There's no screening process with roommates on their end and no introduction. Each roommate was worse than the last. They are solely operated on profit, greed, and filling rooms which are now listed above and beyond what any tenant should be paying for the rental room and above market rate. The roommates ranged from super young alcoholic drug users, to one's whom would go through my personal belongings, groceries and toiletries, to screaming and cursing at me and other roommates, and overall unstable and psychos. They also kept my security deposit without valid claims and refused to refund. Their claim was to paint and patch the walls. Completely unreasonable, fraud, and abuse of my security deposit. I'm suing . Normal wear and tear in the room, I would like a refund of my security deposit. read more

CLG just took over managing the C1 property a few weeks ago, and it's like night and day from the last management company. The front office is always staffed. The manager CALLS about requests. I mean, calls. Not email. Not text. He CALLS to make sure everything gets done. That's huge! The maintenance team responds so promptly to requests. Within an hour of our last clogged toilet! Love them!!! The cleaning team gave our common spaces a complete makeover. I'm so impressed, and they take the time to talk to residents. Big change. Reviews prior to mid-October 2021 should be taken with a grain of salt, because that was NOT CLG management. I'm back to being excited to live at C1. Huge recommend! read more

I've been living at C1 for over two years now in one of the co-living units and I work from home, meaning I'm always home. Since it was my first time living in this environment, I had gone through some various challenges, small and big. But once Allison and Sandy from CLG took over the management, WOW, my co-living life has gotten so much easier. They are always willing to help whatever issues or questions you might have from new equipment requests to suitmate issues. They respond quick. They are reliable and resourceful. They do followups. It doesn't mean that they are going to let you have whatever you want, but they are going to be transparent about what the limits are for them to assist you and to suggest other ways you can try. And I'm grateful for that. I have lived in different big apartments in LA, and I can tell they are the most responsible and helpful management team I have ever experienced.
