Dr. Esmailzadegan has an outstanding bedside manner. He was genuinely attentive, kind, and took the time to understand my situation. I truly appreciated his interest in moving beyond the status quo to actively help control my pain. During my initial visit, he scheduled a procedure for the following week. The nerve block he performed under live X-ray guidance to my left femoral nerve provided almost immediate relief. For that, I am very grateful. Unfortunately, my overall experience with the practice was significantly impacted by serious administrative and communication issues. The office was extremely difficult to reach by phone -- I left multiple messages over several weeks before securing my first appointment. After my procedure, I was asked to provide a detailed medical history to the new PA-C, despite having just completed one with Dr. Esmailzadegan only four days earlier. More concerning was the handling of my updated prescriptions. Dr. Esmailzadegan made changes and specifically asked me to begin the new medications that same evening. However, the pharmacy never received the prescriptions. Over the following week, I experienced ongoing frustration trying to get them sent: repeated unanswered phone calls, messages that went unreturned, and two in-person visits to the office. This lack of follow-through on something as critical as pain medication created unnecessary stress and delayed my care. While I genuinely like Dr. Esmailzadegan and believe he is an excellent physician, the operational support at Westside Pain Management fell far short of the standard of care I would expect -- especially from a pain management practice. Reliable communication and coordination between the clinical and administrative teams are essential in this field. I would like to think that this was a one-time situation, and will improve with future visits. I'm always willing to give the benefit of the doubt to a doctor who is new to me, Everyone is entitled to a rough day now and then, and shouldn't be judged, just because they're having an "OFF" day.

Dr. Arash Esmailzadegan is top notch, very knowledgeable, kind and gracious. I wish I knew all the names of the front desk, ops manager and surgical staff of every single person, they treat us wonderfully. Highly recommend this facility which is super clean and beautiful. One day out and he's already feeling much better.

Dr. Esmailzadegan has an outstanding bedside manner; he was genuinely attentive, kind, and took the time to understand my medical history. I deeply appreciated his commitment to finding proactive pain management solutions. The left femoral nerve block he performed under live X-ray guidance provided nearly immediate relief, for which I am incredibly grateful. Unfortunately, my overall experience was significantly hindered by severe administrative and communication issues. Securing my initial appointment required leaving multiple messages over several weeks due to difficulty reaching the office by phone. Additionally, there appeared to be a lack of internal coordination; four days after completing a thorough medical history with Dr. Esmailzadegan, I was asked to duplicate the entire process for a new PA-C. Most concerning, however, was the handling of my updated prescriptions. Dr. Esmailzadegan made immediate medication changes, yet the pharmacy never received the orders. Resolving this required a week of unanswered calls and two in-person office visits. This lack of administrative follow-through delayed my care and caused unnecessary stress, which is particularly challenging when managing chronic pain. While I believe Dr. Esmailzadegan is an exceptional and talented physician, the operational support at Westside Pain Management fell short of the expected standard of care. Accurate communication and clinical coordination are vital in this field. I am willing to give the practice the benefit of the doubt and hope these operational shortcomings were an isolated occurrence that will improve in future visits.

They also completely ignore calls from CVS and or messages, forcing you to chase them down like it's your full-time job. For example, I started called them to request a refill since they refused to answer CVS, left a few voicemails and got a new prescription pop up in my cvs app after literally a full week, only to get shorted my meds. I then spent the next 2 weeks leaving voicemails with total radio silence. No medication, no relief, absolutely nothing. Till this day, I still never received the shorted meds. This office is medical negligence at its worst. Stay away. Far away. Got a referral from your primary? Demand a different place immediately. Don't believe me? I was told to arrive 30 min early to fill out a new patient packet. i requested to be emailed the paperwork so i could fill it out in my leisure. On the day of my appt, today 05/22/25, I arrived 15 mins early for my 9a appointment. I was called and placed in the room. The lady that called me and directed me to the room did not introduce herself . She was not personable. She just started asking me questions as she didn't have my paperwork. I asked her name and i believe her name was Layla. After waiting 50 min, i popped my head out and asked if they could tell me how much longer. i was told about 10 minutes and i was next. It was about 10 minutes. it was a welcomed wait. Dr Ho, has a calm bedside manner. He listened to what i have been experiencing and really seemed to care about what i was saying. He showed me online what he believed i am experiencing so that i could research it and be empowered. He prescribed me a new medication and will send me for a 2nd opinion on my diagnosis. I left my appointment feeling hopeful, I have tears typing this because the pain has been debilitating. I gave 4 stars only because of the parking NOT due to the Dr or office staff. I circled the parking lot and was unable to find a space. i ended up parking pretty far. I felt lucky my appt was on a Thursday due to there is street sweeping on Friday and you cannot park on the street.

I've asked for receipts, but they don't provide them or ask for payment on balances already paid. In all, the doctor is fantastic, but the office staff is overwhelmed & lacks professionalism...be prepared to do much of the work yourself & call continuously.

I found Dr. Rahbar through ChatGPT. In hindsight, I should have vetted more given the mixed reviews, but I was short on time and booked. My experience with Dr. Rahbar herself was positive. She was thorough, spent time with me, and handled the MRI process correctly with insurance. No complaints there. My issue is not the doctor. It is the Office Manager, and how the office is being run under her. After my MRI, there was zero follow-up. I had to call. The front desk told me I could come in the next day for a shot, then called back minutes later to cancel, saying I needed insurance authorization. Fine. We rescheduled for the following week, and I was told I was confirmed. The next morning, I received a voicemail asking why I missed my appointment. When I called back, I was told I never needed authorization, that there are different types of shots, and that I was not even on the schedule for next week after I had been told it was confirmed. Multiple errors. All on their side. Instead of anyone taking responsibility, I was transferred to the Office Manager. This is where the experience went off the rails. She did not know why I was speaking to her and made no effort to figure it out. I had to re-explain everything. She acknowledged none of the mistakes. Instead, she referred to me as a "girl," told me I was "confused," and acted annoyed that I did not understand their internal processes. That is not my job. That is hers. I was already irritated, and her tone escalated things. I pushed back. This was not a calm conversation. It was a patient trying to get basic clarity from someone in charge who refused to take accountability and chose to talk down to me instead. She then asked if I could come in that day. I paused, because the idea of going to a place this disorganized and having them stick a needle in my spine did not sit right with me. I told her I was not sure I wanted to come back after how rude she had just been to me, which clearly threw her. When I asked if she was denying being rude, she said, "You just want to argue. I am hanging up. Bye bye," and hung up on me. That is the Office Manager of a medical practice. Mistakes happen. What should not happen is the person in charge refusing to own them, labeling patients as "confused," speaking to them with zero respect, and then hanging up when they are questioned. This is not a one-off issue. This is a leadership problem, and that Office Manager has the bedside manner of a Times Square bedbug. If you only care about the doctor, you may be fine. But if you care about being treated with basic respect and not having your time mishandled, this place is a problem, and it starts with the Office Manager. I will not be returning. Based on this interaction, I fully expect that when this review is responded to, there will be zero accountability taken, which will only reinforce everything above.
