We tried Raahj for the first time about 2 months ago and cannot stop going back! We've gotten takeout and dined in and every single dish is seriously fantastic. It's always a joy! Highly recommend

Recently just opened, this new spot in the heart of South End is a gem. First time really trying authentic Indian food so I didn't really know what the expectations were. I ordered the chicken tikka masala (which also comes with basmati rice), with a side of butter naan, and everything hit the spot. The naan is ordered separately. The tikka masala was so creamy, rich, and full of flavor--comforting without being too heavy. The portions are generous too, so you really get your money's worth. But the star of the show? The naan. It was fluffy, fresh, and perfectly garlicky - dipped in the creamy sauce. The staff were super friendly and attentive--everyone stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying everything, which made the experience even better. Definitely try this place out for your next lunch spot!

This was one of the best Indian spots I have been to in Charlotte!!!! The food is incredible. A friend and I went during lunch and had a great experience. Our server was extremely helpful and kind and he gave great customer service. They do lunch specials for a lower price which was nice. I highly recommend the cauliflower and the tiger prawn apps. I had the chicken tikka masala and it was the best one I've had in Charlotte! They also have delicious chai tea. The atmosphere is very vibey and casual so you can dress how you want.

Such an amazing place! It was my and my husbands first time trying and it was absolutely delicious! I got the butter chicken and my husband got the lamb kabobs. I also got a side of garlic naan and I could eat it all day everyday. The service was great! We were greeted as soon as we walked in by the owner. He was very personable and very kind. The ambiance of the place is great. It is beautifully decorated with plants. Definitely a place to try out!

I stumbled upon this place last summer with a friend and we sat at the bar and just to head there…read morespicy cauliflower and the bartenders selection. Everything was fantastic. The last couple of times I've been was with my work group. We ordered several items for our table and then we also ordered entrées. Each time I visited this location everything is very nice and clean and the food as spicy as it is is very well seasoned and tasty. All of the sauces and curry creams were cooked to perfection hot in temperature not too hot to enjoy. Our servers were very kind and patient and courteous to us as we made our decisions. They also made perfect combination for our selections. And the best selections for drinks and desserts. Since then, I've even ordered on Uber eats and my food came just as perfect. This is a great go to place for good Indian food. If you're in the uptown area it's located below the Green parking lot, which is across from the Knight theater. It's just a good place even if you want a good drink at the bar. Enjoy!

Server just looked in my direction and kept moving - I definitely could have used a napkin or two. Portion sizes are good. Very nice ambiance- relaxing and inviting. Half the salt would have made this a 4.5/5.

Was in the mood for Indian food. Since I've seen quite a few reviews on social media, my husband…read moreand I decided to try this place out. We started with an order on samosas which were really good and they had a nice kick. We did chicken biryani and the nalan special curry and naan bread. Everything was really good and packed with flavor. Will definitely return! Tara was our waitress a d was really nice!

It's been awhile since we had Indian, so I made reservations for a Saturday night…read more.. Immediately, I liked how the place had a nice, comfy vibe with good A/C and great, relaxing overhead music. The hostess was also on top of things, in that she read the reservation notes, and led us to a choice seat by the wall. The waiter assigned to us was very attentive and courteous. So all around, I felt the ambiance and service was very good. Now the food! We decided to share everything and ordered various items: Garlic Naan, Pakora Brussels Sprouts, Chicken Biryani and Nalan Chicken Curry, which came with white rice. Of everything ordered, my favorite was the Biryani. First of all, the portion was HUGE...enough to feed 4. I liked the long grain rice, and the flavor was good. I was a bit puzzled by the presentation though. All the chicken was buried underneath. Also, way too much onion garnishing on top...which I didn't find appetizing or aesthetically pleasing either. Think I would have liked this better if some veggies were included (not just the onions...possibly my least favorite veggie?). This has been my running criticism with Indian foods... I appreciate the flavors, but I don't like how the tasty veggies are rarely included (or barely visible!) in the entrees. We both enjoyed the Garlic Naan (just wished there were a bit more?), and Brussels Sprouts had a good flavor, but the batter was so hard and thick, it was hard to eat (could barely use the fork for this). So frankly, I didn't love the texture of this fried veggie appetizer. As for the Chicken Curry, I just didn't love the flavor. It was very different though. In the past, I always opted for Chicken Tikala...and I definitely prefer the more buttery flavor of that over this special curry. Guess I liked some of the foods...but not all. Despite being underwhelmed with some of the foods, we still enjoyed the overall dining experience here...and would likely return. I think I'll be trying other items on the menu though.
