The food tastes really authentic. While my chicken tikka marsala didn't taste like a 10 out of 10 spicy it still had good flavor. The food was fresh and the service exceptional. The place did not stop buzzing the whole time we were there. People were constantly coming in to place orders or visiting for the first time. The server really made the establishment feel welcoming. He has a great personality and was very open about what he knew and didn't know from the menu. I liked that he went to the kitchen to have questions answered. The mango lassi tasted cold and fresh. Like it was made in house. They advertised for fresh homemade sweet tea. The chili naan was cooked perfectly. And my husband enjoyed the chili chicken. Though it had a Chinese flavor to it, it tasted really good. We have gone back again since our last visit. And the food still hit. The reasons for 4 instead of 5 stars are that there was a big sign in the window that said lunch special, but when I inquired about it, the employee said they only have a regular menu for the time being. It is a little pricier, $21 for an order of chicken tikka masala and naan bread. The chicken was a tad dry as I have had more tender chicken other places. Now for the good- the flavors were wonderful!! I love how you can pick the spice level on a scale of 1-10. I ordered my dish at a 2/10 level and it was perfect for me. The garlic naan was amazing! Very much a garlic flavor with this bread. And the serving was huge! 2 really nice sized pieces came with my take out meal. The portions are decent here! My boyfriend and I didn't speak a word while we were eating, which is incredibly rare and says a lot. Plus, the portions are huge! Like the restaurant before, the menu doesn't say if rice comes with the curry. I wanted to be sure to ask for rice. It did come with the meal because the total didn't change. I ordered the vegetable Shahi korma that has a nice amount of veggies. Usually I'd order chicken and ask for some veggies to come with it. The spice level ranged from 1-10. I picked 5 for a halfway point which was sensible. I could do a 6 next time. The garlic naan met my expectations. The food was much more appealing to the eye. I will return for more. This place is small but very homey. The staff treat you like a friend or family. The mango lassi was really good and not too sweet like some can be. We ordered the jaduee gobi for our appetizer and it came out after a few minutes and was super hot at first but we couldn't stop eating it. I could come here just to eat the cauliflower for a main dish but I didn't. I ordered the goat saagwala with some onion naan and Joe got shrimp tikka masala. (Shrimp isn't on the menu for tikka but we paid a little extra for it). The saagwala was also amazing and creamy with so much flavor but not spicy since I ordered a level 3. The tikka was good but not the best we've had and the rice was a little clumped but it was the end of the day so can't fault them for that. Over all will definitely be back to eat here again. I've been very impressed with the food and flavors here, and I feel like they have some dishes that I haven't ever seen at other Indian restaurants (like shahi minced paneer).
