It's been ten years since we've eaten at Rabbittown and it is still great! Well prepared food at very reasonable prices. A senior portion at a lower price is an outstanding deal. Pork chops on menu show fried but are cooked in gravy instead of fried, but are still good. Chicken fingers are still very good. Rabbittown is just ok. The prices are great! The food is eatable. The selection is usually decent. The portions are "very" good. This place is the best value in the area, hands down. They have traditional southern cooking and don't close down between meals like Curt's and Longstreet for example. But, the quality of the food is marginal, and the consisitency is also...well not that constant. Overall it's a good place to have on you list when you want, quick, cheap, passable, open. read more

Following these directions, we went right to the heart of Rabbittown, Gainesville, Hall County, Georgia, US of A. And, yes, the bunny is MONUMENTAL! The Cafe is located right squat in the middle of a strip center. We arrived at 4:00, wondering what the state of the food would be, being too late for lunch and too early for supper. Would everything be congealed, shriveled, and brown at the edges? Our meats and twos (senior sized) cost $5.99 each, and were not suffering from excessive exposure....well, no more excessive exposure than you would expect on your average steam table. The veggies vary all the time. I liked my pinto beans and steamed cabbage. The cornbread was typical mass fare, useful for sopping juices. I had a Country Fried Steak, standard grade, blissfully absent of gristle. My bonnie wife enjoyed her meal of ham, green beans, and remarkable sweet 'tater casserole. I'm new to GA and decided to give this place a try since it's a favorite of my co-workers that have been here for a long time. I was a little surprised by the cafeteria style of service, but quickly forgot about it when it got to the food. I had chicken fingers, green beans and mac & cheese with a side biscuit and a slice of lemon cake for desert. The biscuit was fresh out of the oven and HUGE! The lemon cake was perfect Everything I had said fresh and home-made. My son, who is picky about his food had the pot roast, mashed potatoes and mac & cheese and he enjoyed every bit of it .You definitely need to leave the calorie counting at the door, but it's worth the stop. We were camping at Don Carter Campground on Lake Lanier and went out in search of a meal. Thanks to Yelp, we stumbled on the Rabbitown Cafe. Our family had a very filling, delicious dinner there for about $25 (we typically can't feed our family for less than $40). The grilled chicken, rice/gravy, green beans, mashed potatoes, fried chicken and sweet potato casserole were all delicious! We enjoyed it so much that we went back for breakfast today! I came here and will never come back again. I felt like I was in a horror movie when I saw the creepy rabbit dolls. Everyone who got a burger got a special burn stamp in there buns and when we asked for new buns, they acted like it was a hassle. When I walked in the cashier acted unsure about how good the food was, saying "Are you sure you want to eat here." If I had the option I would rate this restaurant at a zero. Serious digestion problems after eating here. The plate they gave me was not clean and had mustard on it. I also was very shocked to see a cockroach crawling under the table. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would without a doubt. Food was awful. Service was sub par, the waitress forget what we wanted and came back multiple times to ask what it was we wanted. She served my friend boiling hot sweet tea. My plate was crusted with condiment residue. I came here with some friends after a football game and we were all thoroughly disappointed with our meals after. And we all felt nauseous. The burger buns were all burnt to a crisp. The grilled cheese was soggy, soaked in butter and also burnt. I don't know how they managed to do that. The fries were obviously completely different kinds. The onion rings tasted sour. The men's bathroom floor was covered in water. Or urine. Unsure. And smelled so strongly of bleach my nostrils burned.
