I was pleasantly surprised with Stan's. Service was friendly and efficient! You order the food at the counter and they bring it out to you, a real no fuss type of vibe. Our food came out before i even got my coffee and sat down, so if you are in a rush you cannot beat this place. Everything is very affordable and exactly what it sounds like it will be. Food is just ok. Not fresh (literally went in the back and brought it straight out less than a full minute after ordering). So it was quick. Its a little hole in the wall, not filthy, but I would not say it was clean. Not enough to make me flinch, but noticeable. Service was great this time around. Unfortunately I in Gainesville here a couple months ago for a convention and stood at the counter for a good ten minutes and was never acknowledged, just left. This was their 2nd chance. Bottom line? Given it 2 stars because I've had worse. I got the sausage biscuits and gravy & cinnamon roll w/ an orange juice. The service was fast, the guy at the register was kind and friendly. The only thing that's missing is FLAVOR. The gravy and sausage were so bland that I couldn't eat it. The biscuits were dry even after having gravy on them. I gave up after 2 bites, so I decided to try the cinnamon roll and that was another disappointment. It was extremely dry and not fresh, they only put a very small amount of icing on the top but even so it was very dry. I thought they would maybe have home made real orange juice but it was just another bottled orange juice. I hate giving places bad rating but hopefully they can make a reopening and get new chefs or new recipes that will ultimately have a lot of flavor. The place from the outside isn't very inviting and makes you think it's one of those places that you don't ever wanna see the kitchen because it'll make you not want to eat there. I feel like everyone who rated this place 4 stars might not know how to season their food and must be used to only using salt and pepper and call it a magical flavored punch. read more

Came to try it out and my mom got us a table. The lady had her grab menus, we sat down and nobody advised us that we needed to go to the front to place our order instead of them coming to us, would've been nice to have some communication. I'm in town visiting my Padres and my dad was going on and on about this place. My mom offered to cook breakfast and my he insisted on going to pick up from this place instead. --If you've had my mom's cooking you already know why I'm skeptical. I will say that their customer service is awesome. While he was in line, he called us to see what we wanted. We were taking a while to choose and the cashier got on the phone with us to help out. She was super friendly and very patient with us, far more than I would have been!! My dad ordered the sausage, egg and cheese biscuit. He absolutely loves it and says that's what he always gets. I tasted it, pretty good but not quite sure of all the rave it's received in other reviews. The biscuit itself is very good; nice and fluffy with a slight crunch on top. His piece of sausage was little small but he said that wasn't normal. I was expecting it to be the spicier sausage but it was pretty good. Mom ordered the steak biscuit and was expecting the the gravy to be on the side but it was in the biscuit. She ended up loving it! I had the chicken, egg and cheese biscuit. Excellent!!! The oriental lady that took my order was the rudest person I've ever met in the food industry. When I came in, I was looking at the menu on the counter. It seemed to aggravate her that I was standing at the counter looking at the menu. She asked me to take a menu and sit at booth. A couple came in behind me, looked at the menu at the counter and ordered. I asked do I come back to the counter n order. She said yes. Let's start off with some honesty here... if you are a fancy person who likes eating at fancy places with fancy utensils and a fancy environment, Stan's Biscuits is NOT for you, just do yourself a favor and stay away. Are you from the South and love a good southern breakfast with all of its gravy and butter and biscuit deliciousness? The Stan's Biscuits IS for you and you should stop by and give them a try when you're in the area. One piece of advice is to play the timing right because although I've been lucky the times I've gone, I have seen them get busy and it ain't pretty!!! That line to order gets long and the drive thru gets insane with cars backed up all the way to the main road. Same goes for parking, you'll either have plenty of parking or you won't find any. My favorite here is their TENDERLOIN, EGG AND CHEESE biscuit with HASH BROWNS plus I thrown an order of HAM because of its salty goodness!! The ham can be a bit tough but I love the taste and saltiness along with my hash browns. The hashbrowns are crispy around the edges but soft on the inside, they are not soggy. The tenderloin, egg and cheese play very well with the tenderloin just having the perfect taste and tenderness to make it an enjoyable breakfast. The star of the meal has to be the biscuit itself though and it isn't very often that I say that. Stan's has managed to make a larger than usual biscuit that is moist but not heavy, light but not dry, tasty and soft in the middle with a crispy top and exterior... Is it one of my favorite biscuits? Yes... yes it is. I hear they have a great lunch so I'll have to make my way there sometime soon and see what their lunch is all about. Their inside area is kind of small but holds an OK amount of people, but it can get crowded very fast. Some of their tables are a bit unstable so you may have to get some napkins and slam them into one of the table legs. You get your food as you see it in the pictures, wrapped up with no plate although you do get a place if you get biscuits and gravy. The place is very simple but embodies what the South is about.... a simple location with a passion for what they do. Get up early (they open at 5AM) and get you some breakfast then let me know what you think!! Roli's Rating: 1. Service: 7/10, Maybe service could be better if they were not so busy. One time I ordered my food, sat down then got my food. From the time I ordered to the time I finished my food the nice lady taking orders on the counter did not have 1 minute of free time. Your food comes out fresh and fairly quick 2. Price: 10/10, You can easily have a feast for under $10. Not sure about their lunch  3. Location and Parking: 6/10, Stan's is off HWY 60 in Gainesville but parking can be an issue depending on the time of day. I have never had a problem with parking but I have left at times were there was no parking left 4. Cleanliness: 6/10, Clean tables but everything else looks kind of oldish. I would say Stan's is just OK overall. I had a chicken biscuit with a plain coffee at the drive thru. The line was pretty long at 9am, but it went quickly. The biscuit itself was below average. Kind of surprising. It was a little undercooked, not fluffy and a bit tasteless. One would hope that a biscuit shop would have good biscuits. I will say that the chicken was good, though. Had a lot of flavor. The coffee was surprisingly good (not amazing, just enjoyable). Usually at places like this their coffee is burnt or just nasty. It was relatively inexpensive. About $4 and some change. However, I will say that their service is fantastic. That is one of the best drive thru experiences I've had in a while. Much better service than the local biscuit shops where service is just not their thing. The lady at the window was quick, personable, and just very pleasant. I used to work at a biscuit place in high school and these biscuits tasted just like those so major points for the nostalgia factor. Overall the food is good but not unbelievable. Their drive thru is fast and efficient when I'm needing a small business breakfast on the go. I usually get a Bacon Egg and Cheese or the BLT add Egg with a side of the Hashbrown Casserole. Went through the drive through for lunch and asked for steak and eggs sunny side up with a side of hash browns and toast. The egg was not runny at all, the steak was lukewarm and the toast was really soft. The hash browns were good. When the woman working brought the food, she began bagging it and I asked for a plate since that how it usually comes and she said she would have to charge me extra. I said okay and she just stood there so I just left, and when I went to eat she put it in a sandwich which wasn't at all what I wanted. I have been here before to get biscuits and they were good but the service was bad today. I think the workers who have been there longer are much better at taking orders properly and making orders fresh. I picked up biscuits from Stan's while visiting my sister and brother-in-law in Gainesville. They have a drive-thru but there isn't a lot of room for the line, so I parked and went inside. Service was excellent and I could see the cooks working the biscuit dough from the register. I ordered our biscuits to go and got them in less than five minutes. They were hot, hot, hot! Even after mine had cooled a bit on the drive to the other side of town, it was still warm and tasty. We all ordered different biscuits and everyone enjoyed theirs. Recommended! read more

I usually get breakfast here once a week and am never surprised to see the line for the drive-thru is wrapped around the entire parking lot. Everything tastes fresh and homemade, a refreshing change from processed McDonalds breakfast. A week or so ago my wife and I tired their lunch menu for a change and were very impressed with their sandwich selections, made to order on delicious toasted multigrain bread. It was unbelievable to see the lack of adhering to Health guidelines. The kitchen staff did not have on masks, no one sanitized tables between guests, the plastic silverware is open and available for everyone to touch. The patrons for the most part did not wear masks and the tables are all open and close to each other. It's a shame because we like the food but won't be back. Was looking for a new breakfast place in Gainesville to try. No fast food either! Stan's came up on my phone map. We decided to check it out. Glad we did! Quaint little place, with it's own charm. Nice and clean, with nice, friendly counter & table service. Very reasonably priced menu of breakfast and lunch items only- served quickly. If you are looking for a great tasting "cat-head" biscuit, with egg, cheese and country ham, you can't go wrong with Stan's! This thing was a meal in its' self!! I also shared a side order of cheese potato casserole with my wife. Really good stuff! I washed it all down with an endless cup of straight up coffee, that will keep you awake for awhile! My husband has been getting biscuits here on his way to work for a few months and he kept saying how badly he wanted to bring me in because they had huge biscuits with big, thick sausage patties. He was crazy about this place. This was apparently THE place for breakfast for him and the people he works with. Sadly, it recently changed ownership and both times he has been lately he said the biscuits were awful and the sausage was a third the thickness they used to be.
