There are markets, bakeries, and restaurants galore here, all keen to have you taste either their take on a traditional, or point you with special glee towards their own creations. The weather cooperated, the band was great, people struck up conversations with strangers, and everyone got a little sun. I'm awfully glad that Yelp made this a Yelp Event. I didn't see any other Yelpistas, but then again, my eyes were looking at all that deliciousness..... So, come tomorrow- or next year. And, keep you eyes on the pies!!!

One of the best events we have each year is the Great American Pie Festival over at Celebration! I…read morehave gone to this even for the past 4 years in a row and it always is worth the drive. This year, I was lucky enough to get free entry into the never ending pie buffet from our friends at Yelp! Thanks Colleen for the pie! Since parking can be a nightmare even without events at Celebration, we always park by a friends house over by the high school and walk over. It only takes about 10 min to walk over and besides, it is a nice walk back to the car to walk off some of the pie we just inhaled. We arrived on Saturday around 1 pm and found the crowds this year to be a bit lighter than in the past. After checking in with the info booth and getting our wrist bands, we enjoyed checking out all the vendors and seeing if their was any arts and crafts we might want. There is a large booth that sells t-shirts, cookbooks and of course pies! This year, there were also a larger amount of food vendors selling the normal fair type foods. We did not indulge since we were saving room for pie. They also had a zip line contraption that looked like fun. We made our way over to the pie buffet entry. You must have a wrist band or you cant get in! The pie police are watching you. Once inside, we armed ourselves with plastic forks ( I suggest bringing your own metal one if you like) and then started to check out all the booths. There seemed to be less vendors than in the past. Publix and Winn Dixie were there as well as Kroger's and the Village inn. All make great pies but the ones I enjoy most are from some of the more independent pie companies that make unusual combinations of flavors. Bakers Square, Bonerts, Legendary Baking, and Wicks pies are these types of vendors. Yet this year, they only seemed to have a few flavors to try while in the past, they might have 10 or more types. My favorite of all time was a chocolate coated frozen cheesecake on a stick.... but alas, it was not there this year. Sniff Sniff... All in all, it was still a great feast! I will say that most people can eat about 5 or 6 slices before they are done but one friend of mine ate 10 slices! Oink! Some people like to eat one slice at a time while others stop at each booth, grab the ones they want, and then find a place to spread them all out and eat them one by one. After our pig out, we continued to check out many of the other booths that circle the stage. Crisco is the main sponsor but there are also booths for Duncan Hines, Smuckers, and Dunkin Donuts. Duncan was having a bit of a scavenger hunt with their new stir in flavors of frosting. You had to collect all 12 of the flavors and then visit their booth to be in a drawing for prizes. I collected them all, got my ticket for the hourly drawing but never got back to see if I won... oh well... There was also the appearance of Poppin Fresh! and Pie man! Always popular and sometimes a line to get a photo with them. The main stage had an assortment of entertainment including comedian Kirk Marsh, singer Dean Daniels and guest chefs David Sloan and Brian Ehrenholm. If you want something fun to do and love pie, I do recommend checking out the pie festival. The normal entry for adults is $10 and if you eat enough pie, it pays for itself. Our best tip would be go in... eat pie... walk around and enjoy the booths and sights... then go back again for more pie! (Then take a really long walk back to your car!) Enjoy!

Would Never Go To A Park Without Them Again! Kunal Is The Best!!…read more Our Crew - 9 people. Ages 5, 12, 14, 44, 45, 48, 48, 69, & 70. With those age ranges, i was thinking it would not be so easy to navigate everyone's wishes, but our guide Kunal (or K as we called him) did just that. I would also like to point out that it is also difficult to join in on a vacation of 9 people and get along with them all, and that is exactly what Kunal did. Everyone loved him. He had a calming affect on both the kids and the adults. We are still texting him pictures he took with us! The Process - Shay from World Class handled all of my 30 annoying questions asking her about how things work. Their service was recommended by a friend of mine, but i was still skeptical if the extra cost was worth it knowing I had such a large party. Once I agreed to pull the trigger, Shay sent me an excel spreadsheet with all of the rides listed from each park. We chose which rides were a "cant miss for us" , and others that we would have interest if there was still time available. I then gave Shay my login for my Disney account so they can organize each of our fast passes. Magic Kingdom - Kunal got us in prior to the park opening to the public. We were 12th or so in line for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.Once they completed their test runs, we were all on the 2nd train out together! We rode 10 rides or so and were done around 2:30pm, giving us plenty of time to relax back in the pool at the hotel. Hollywood Studios - We were at the line early and rode Slinky Dog within 10 minutes of us entering the park. We were done at this park by 1pm after 8 rides/shows. Toy Story Mania was super fun. Universal Studios/Islands of Adventures - Kunal got us in the park 45 minutes prior to it opening. It was almost weird walking around the park by ourselves. We did the Minion Show, Transformers, and Mummy ride all prior to 9am. Pretty Crazy. It was tough to time how long we were here, because thunderstorms caused some delays, but we completed almost 20 attractions at both parks and did not stay till closing. Another added benefit - Last year the kids fought over what ride was next and who got to pick it, this year all they asked was "Which ride is next K?" - after every single ride. Never was there an argument over what was next. That is worth its weight in Disney gold... Cost - It is not cheap at $175/hour, but the value you receive well surpasses the price tag. If you can add this splurge, it is a must. The way I look at it, you are literally buying back hours of each day for use doing other things. Verdict - 100000% I would use them again. I can not speak for their other guides, but just request Kunal and you will be as happy as can be. We joked that the longest lines we waited on in 3 days were for popcorn and dole whip. I do not think we waited more than 10 minutes for any ride in 4 parks. Insane. And we are hooked.

Our group consisted of 3 6-yr olds, 2 11-yr olds, 1 13-yr old, and 7 adults ranging in age from 38 to 70. It is absolutely not conceivable that we could have enjoyed our trip even 1/2 as much without the services of this remarkable company. Our tour guides all 4 days were Gabby and Kristen, and they quite literally and immediately became part of our family. You would think that with our group covering such a large range of ages and interests, that there would have been pulling in different directions while seeing the parks. And you would be wrong. Everyone just wanted to always be with Gabby and Kristen, as they guided us onto every ride and attraction that everyone wanted to see, no lines, no waits for our VIP seating in the shows - I still don't understand how they do it. This is an absolutely awesome company. From you first phone contact to the day you sadly say good-bye to your guide, this is a 1st class, one of a kind, experience. I feel as though I'm so enthusiastic about this company, someone might think I've got a connection to them other than as a customer. I am simply a most satisfied customer. As for the event, Night of a Million Lights, it is a holiday event work all the houses are adorned with Christmas lights and music going on all around. For 2021, as you arrive to the property you are directed to parking on the other side of Route 192. From there you will be driven by boss over to the event. It's about a 10 minute bus ride, maybe a little less if less traffic and you don't hit the light, from the parking to the event drop off. Your ticket is scan before you get on the bus so once you come off, can you simply start enjoying the run. This year they have plenty of vendors throughout the property selling food, snacks, merchandise. It's a great event for a great cause, and plenty of opportunities for holiday photos

We wanted to do something extra Christmas-y while my aunt and cousin were in town visiting and this fit the bill! We didn't fully know what to expect regarding the showcase, but it rocked! Plus, your supporting a good cause. The light displays were elaborate and so cool, I thought the sponsored houses were neat, and the train ride had a fantastic story and information with it. We didn't eat anything there or get souvenirs, but it looks well organized from that perspective with options. We were there from ~8pm-10pm and it was a perfect amount of time. It was low key and relaxed, but so exciting! I'd recommend this as a cute date night for couples or a family outing for young children. If you liked and miss Disney's Osbourne Lights at Hollywood Studios, you're going to love Night of a Million Lights!

This has quickly become one of my "can't miss' half marathons!…read more Started in 2014, I've had the opportunity to run the last two years and love it! Relatively inexpensive. (About 65-95 for the half, depending on when you register). Pretty organized. Beautiful Celebration setting. Flat, fast course. Nice race swag. Great after-party! They offer a half and full option. Fair warning though- the Marathon is two loops of the same course, which would not keep me engaged! It's relatively easy to park on a Celebration side street and walk to the start. I've parked in the town hall lot the past two years and have done same-day packet pickup which is nice and easy! They give great race swag. 2015 featured a really cute Raw Threads t-shirt as well as a free Headsweats hat and some other small items. Being that I run Disney races somewhat often, it's hard to compete with the level of entertainment that Disney provides, but a little more would be nice. As one of the signs along the course acknowledged, "It's not Disney, but we didn't make you get up at 2AM"! :) They also didn't make me pay $300 so not a major complaint! One of my favorite things about this race is the post-race party. In addition to getting a nice medal, you are handed a punch card. Many of the local celebration businesses have tents set up and your punch card provides you a free sample of food! I enjoyed a slice of pizza from D'Antonios, beans and Rice from Columbia, and a spring roll from the Thai spot, amongst other things. Beer and mimosas are also provided! I really appreciate the inclusion of those offerings, above and beyond a banana (although those are available too). Since this year's race was a little chilly, they also had throwaway jackets available at the finish line which was really considerate. The live entertainment was also fantastic! I've greatly enjoyed this race the last two years and plan on continuing to participate in the future. Such a great time!

I have run every…read moreCelebration Marathon (or half) since the inaugural race and this event is extremely well-done - especially when it is not a major event-team putting this on - it's a bunch of runners who love to race and it shows. * Packet pick-up is always very easy. The race director is cool with transfers up until the day before the race. * The expo is pretty well-diversified and it still has its "boutique" charm that gets lost at some of the larger races. * The Raw Threads shirts are always very nice. * The medals seem to get better every year. I also like that they always have a different medal for the half marathon and the full marathon (a lot of smaller races do not do this.) * The S.W.A.G. gets better every year, too. I remember getting a hat (either the first or 2nd year), a really thick beach towel (3rd year), a stainless steel insulated travel tumbler (4th), and a very thick, plush sherpa blanket this year for the 5-year anniversary. They always give away a bandana buff along with any items that are donated by the sponsors. If it is cold, throw-away hooded jackets or Mylar blankets are provided. * Parking can be tight on race-day morning but if you are able to car-pool and arrive early, it is not so bad. * The race provides ample port-o-lets so the lines are never too long and they've always been well-stocked with TP and sanitizer. * The water stations are well-stocked and well-manned so I've never had to wait in line: I can grab and go. Each station seems to have first-aid items available (petroleum jelly, bandages, Biofreeze, etc.) * The course is flat with the exception of one small bridge over water street in the first mile. * The course is well-marked and, any "course hazards" are marked with bright orange duct tape (uneven sidewalks, boardwalk boards, etc.) During long stretches outside of the neighborhoods, one of the sponsors has "mobile DJs" to provide music to keep the runners pumped up. Neighbors usually come out and play tunes over loud speakers or local musicians play music, too. * The support from the neighbors is great - it can get lonely on the 2nd loop of the marathon, so having the neighbors' support to cheer us on is appreciated. (keep an eye out for treats, too. It was a little warm in 2018 and I was dying for salt. To my delight, a generous neighbor had set out bowls of pretzels and Cheet-it snack crackers. ) * After the first year, the organizers have made sure to power-wash the boardwalk - the most beautiful parts of the course - so runners can enjoy the scenery rather than constantly watch their steps. * The best part of the race is the after-party. The area around the lake is filled with tents featuring post-race massage areas, a photo booth, and many post-race treats. At the finish line, all runners receive a card so they can go to these tents and get pizza, pancakes, black bean soup, garlic knots, beer, coffee, mimosas, pulled pork sandwiches, etc. (there is more, but you get the idea.) I will run this race as long as they choose to put it on. NOTE - the marathon can get a little lonely on the second loop, but I've PR'd it 2 of the three years that I ran it.

My first Walt Disney World race - the Springtime Surprise 2025 10k!! The 10k was on a Saturday,…read moreearly morning start time at 5:00 A.M EST in early April! Packet pick-up was required prior to the race day. The Health and Fitness Expo was located at the ESPN World Wide Complex in Disney World. The 10k was hosted in Epcot. My mom and I left our hotel around 3:30 A.M. The traffic wasn't too bad and we were able to get a parking spot around 4:20 A.M. The parking lot was starting to get full though! There was plenty of cast members helping runners get to the starting line. Each section had a different start coral. The corals for the Springtime Surprise 10k race was from A-F. I ended up getting in the E coral! Unfortunately, I didn't realize they release in several waves for the race. I ended up getting towards the middle of the E coral! Even though the race started at 5:00 A.M, the E Coral didn't get released until around 5:40 A.M! The course initially started on the roads going into Epcot for the first 2 miles, and then by mile 3 you were inside the Epcot theme park! The race took you through Epcot and then along boardwalk where there are multiple Disney themed hotels, and then back into Epcot to finish the race! The Springtime Surprise 2025 was superhero themed, and one of my favorite movies, Hercules, was the theme for the 10k! There were so many photo opportunities on this race with Hades, The Muses, Merida, and so much more! I didn't stop for photos as I didn't want to get swept! I finished the 10k race! Hercules was the theme for the medal. Rundisney provided a meal box to go for a recovery meal, which also included a banana and water bottle. There were also food trucks in the parking lot too! I had so much fun at the RunDisney Springtime Surprise 2025! Hopefully I'll be able to register for the 2026 race!

This is the first full Marathon that I've ran, and my friends and I agree that Disney should make a…read morecouple changes. First off, fix the bottle neck getting into the parking lot of Epcot where it started. Even though we left at 2:30 a.m. and we're only half an hour away we didn't arrive in till 4:30am the Epcot parking lot. They had hundreds of cars squeeze into turning lanes and allowed vehicles to illegally drive up on the grass and cut people off even though security vehicles were right there. We saw runners dangerously jump out of their vehicles and run in and out of traffic to get to their starting corrals at 5:00 a.m. without any security guards stopping them. It would be nice if instead of having everybody arrive at 5:00 a.m. if they would tell you specifically that different corral start at different times. Are corral which was "H" didn't start until 6:00 a.m. which is an hour later. Also most of the course was not spent in the parks, but the majority of the race was spent running on city streets or back roads. And since the park opened early for visitors who had early access so those looking to take pictures with characters had to wait in a longer queue with those who were already in the park. So if you wanted to get a good run time not only did you have to wait in line but now you have to wait in line with Disney guests as well. Don't get me started on the bathrooms, there were only about a dozen or so Portable restrooms available every 5 miles or so. They were extremely crowded and did not have hand washing stations which cut into the minimum pace of 16 minutes per mile. A lot of people lost good pacing/racing time waiting for the toilets. I can't honestly say that I had fun on this race since most of the time we were funneled into narrow spaces, had to face hot temperature and high humidity and people's racing etiquette was atrocious. People disgarded what they were wearing in the middle of the street, causing a tripping hazard, instead of on the side to be collected. Banana peels were thrown on the pavement causing people to nearly trip, and people constantly threw ice on the floor which is a slipping hazard. I saw multiple people trip over street cones or pavement reflectors and no one offered to help. We found this race to be the opposite of what Disney should be. The only pros were seeing the characters along the way and the good people who cheered us on and/or played music (such as the many bands we saw). I felt this race was poorly organized, regardless of the weather which was out of their control they should plan for more restrooms, more water breaks when they know it's high humidity, and better overall organization of the course itself so runners don't have to funnel into a narrow corral behind walkers, and get stuck, or visa versa. People were literally stepping on each other's shoes near the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom routes. This year's course is the 1st time in 20 years that marathon runners could race through blizzard beach which would have been a treat to all runners but due to weather and safety a lot of runners were diverted away I heard.

*Pre-race* Get to the staging area early if you want to take…read morepre-race photos with the Star Wars characters. For their inaugural year, they had Boba Fett, Jabba, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Captain Phasma, BB-8, Rathtar, and First Order Stormtroopers. There will be cast members there to warn you when it's time to shut down the character lines and for the runners to start heading to the corrals. Runners are not released to the corrals until the time specified in the runner's guide. You are surrounded by a perimeter of portapotties while you wait. Off to the side of the corrals are a line of portapotties in case you need to go again right before the race. *The course* This is a point to point race course that starts from Epcot and finishes at the ESPN Wide World of Sports. Along the way you'll run through Hollywood Studios before running on some roads, highways, and even half a mile of dirt road as you head towards the finish line. The dirt road section was pretty cool since it also had a lot of tree covering. You could pretend that you're running on Endor. *Post-race* They give you a bottle of water, a bottle of Powerade, a banana, and a snack box. You can also take a picture in front of a backdrop. In case you missed the photo opportunities before the race, they've transported all of the dioramas and the characters to the finish line. If you stayed on Disney Resort, find the number that corresponds to your hotel and get in line for a shuttle. They also have shuttles back to Epcot if you've parked at the start. *Overall* If you're a fan of Star Wars and remotely interested in running, you should definitely run this race, the half marathon, or both as The Dark Side Challenge! It's actually pretty cool to see some of your fellow runner's costumes. Some people are really creative! I'm planning to run this race as often as possible!

DATE NIGHT NEW PLACES ADVENTURE!!!…read more The wife and I went to Krush Brau Park for what was supposed to be an Event this past Sept. Live Band, Classic Car Show, Food, Beer, Wine. A real Event!!! Well when we got there we found out that it was not an Event at all. The Event was under a tent on the other side of the parking lot from their main restaurant. So we took the walk over through the parking lot while passing their under construction brewery building. When we walk into the tent we find... First: Very little people. For an Event I would think the large tent would at least be half full, 50-60 people. It was not, there was probably about 20 patrons present. As we sat their we saw other couples or Families doing the same thing they ordered food and were stuck till they got it. They ate it and left. That's exactly what we did as well. There were people who stayed the whole time, but they were drinking one beer after another practically. Actually saw a guy get carried out by his friends. Glad my kids weren't with us. The environment was relaxed and semi festive with flags, but not much else. Second: No live band. Music was from someone's phone with commercials, lol. Honestly, even if they had a live band. With how tall the stage is in comparison to the tent. You wouldn't see them playing unless you were in the first 5 feet of the tent. There is a very small grass space in between and that doesn't help much as then you wouldn't most likely be blocking that 5 foot into the tent. It a good layout for live music visuals. Third: the food. As I looked around I saw very little consumers with food. We can here to specifically try their Bavarian pretzels. So we said let's get a drink and a pretzel then bounce to the next spot!!! We ordered a Mojito 12$, Coke 2$ & Bavarian Pretzel 10$. We were given our drinks and we waited and waited and waited. 26 mins for a pretzel!!! We were almost done with our drinks when we finally got the pretzel. The pretzel was soft, but small and luke warm. Not hot and fresh. The beer cheese was good, but standard taste. Now we saw why barely anyone had food when we walked in. We found that rather than serving the food direct at the restaurant or have a trailer at the tent to cook in. They were driving the food over from the main restaurant and causing a large gap in serving time to this not existent Event. This is creating a Timelapse and outside temp exposure to all the food before giving it to the consumers. Service was ok. The people were very nice, but you did feel forgotten about unless you walked up for something as they just stood in the booths and weren't out cleaning tables or talking with customers. It was more like a hang out under the tent and a separate one for the employees in the Service Trailer. Hopefully they will figure it out, but Krush Brau Park needs allot of improvement in their Events & SOP's before we will ever return for any reason!!! (SOP's= Standard Operating Procedures) Was hoping for a Fun New Place, but we will have to wait to give this pace a second chance once the brewery is open. It did look very cool with a large rock or mountain on the outside so I kinda can't wait to see what they do on the inside. Also, to see where they can go and how they change their Pretzel and Service Practices. Maybe the Main Restaurant is a better experience, but the pretzel wasn't really worth the price or Tasty enough to make us want to go back to try their sausages or spend money on anything else at this time. AS ALWAYS TRY IT FOR YOURSELF!!!
