He almost hit us. We had all we could do to just inch our way out. When we called to complain we got "Clay" on the phone who after I was trying to talk hung up on me. It makes me think he may have been the one driving the bus, which if that is the case it is also unsafe. If nothing else it shows a lack of professionalism. There are a lot of party bus options in Des Moines, so stay away from this one.

Parking is marked on the opposite side of the street of the venue. As we walked up the food trucks were feeding the masses. We entered the main door, here you purchase the entrance fee as make your way in. Right inside is a couple vendors and a bar where you can wet your whistle. From here you climb a couple flights of steps and enter a room full of magic. Here the magic is made by multiple vendors that are all local. There was everything you can imagine. Beautiful hand made jewellery, soaps, music, clothes, food, coffee, wood products and more and more. The vendors change a little bit with talking with a few I can see they all like the inside venue. It had great light add even a sky light. I think I'll be visiting this market again.

Lots of local hand made and crafty type vendors, selling goods and have a good time.. Records playing, free coffee brewing, and artist talking shop.. I rolled in with my son who is 2 and he loved running around seeing all booths full of unique and local items from local businesses that might not have a store front! There was a bar, there was a food truck, there was plenty to buy and to see! Awesome bi-annual local event that truly shows the local love!

They have the streets around the PapaJohns Sculpture park blocked, which is the perfect addition to the festival. Artists come from all around the US to get into this festival. The art is higher quality. If you wish to add to your collection you may have to shell out a little more money. They do include local art students. Local school children's art. There are interactive art instillation's. This year we contributed to a piece they will put in a local school when completed. They gave us a tile and a little visual to try and match. Then they sprayed them to lock in the medium for installation at a later time. We like to get involved in these almost every year. Get yourself an adult beverage and sip and enjoy. We take a slow walk around the booths. We try and take in as much as we can. So many different varieties of art and mediums. They have live music , performers, film and sometimes you can catch live demos. Thousands of people come down. This year they added a sensory space for people who need a break from the craziness of it all. Street parking where you can find it. You can bring your kids or fur babies. Although it always seems to be so darn hot, that I wouldn't recommend the fur babies on the hot streets. We try and go one of the first days cause it gets crazy busy the rest of the weekend. You will always find something new each year. Go and enjoy it. I don't have a bunch of pictures cause I always get so immersed in the event I leave my phone in my pocket. It felt cozy, festive, and kind of special. They also have concessions with drinks for kids and adults (with or without alcohol), which was a nice surprise. There's a restaurant inside called Flora that's reservation-only, plus brunch options. We also saw the little igloo huts you can reserve for dinner or small groups (I think around 8 people), which looked really fun -- definitely want to look into that more. Parking was free, and if you want to make it more of an experience, you can even ride the trolley over from the East Village. Overall, this was easily a 10/10 for us.
