This place was an unexpected highlight!!…read more The pancakes was the star of the show - the chef in the kitchen is doing a good work, we even spotted the two workers in front chowing down on their shared plate of the pancakes - they were soft and really good. Chill atmosphere with people working at their tables with lit flowers in the ceiling, they have a really beautiful spot for being a cafe. I was pleasantly surprised. The lady spoke excellent English and was very kind. What more can you ask for!?

Holy Bagels! A refreshing, hidden spot in Ixelles. The specialties are bagels of course, you…read moreguessed it! The ingredients were fresh, the eatery is small which can be exceptionally nice on a Sunday afternoon. I hadn't tried bagels before, but I was pleasantly surprised. I had the Nina without the avocado. I liked that, it shows that there was no problem to accommodate my tastes. It's something different than what we normally have for lunch/brunch and everything in between. They have bagels of the month on their board, that might help you with your choice. The staff was friendly and kind. I finished off with a carrot cake, oh my oh my! Tasty, not heavy on the sugar: it's served with a syrup that fits it perfectly. Overall I had a good experience and I recommend it!

Bing a HUGE fan of the 3rd wave coffee phase currently poppin off in the States, I didn't have high hopes. The husband and I are admittedly coffee snobs! I don't like my coffee/espresso to be bitter or burnt tasting like the big green coffee place down by the Grand Place. Today we ordered 2 medium lattes. Added a bit of raw sugar and off we went. To our surprise, the drinks were great! Like, perfect!!! If you want a smooth tasting drink, look no further! Location is ideal and the staff was super friendly and cool!

When i compare them to Starbucks, i must admit they are slightly cheaper. But pity I really got some tasteless bad drink. I wonder if this would be worth 1 euro to me. I don't know. But I paid more than four ... it was certainly not worth that. Had some time to kill, wanted to hide from the first cold days outside. When I went in, I wanted to try a new coffee they served now, the Irish coffee. It was served in a glass with wipped cream and that was the only good thing about it. I like cream and the glass looked neat. For the rest, it was just a plain dissapointment. The coffee quality was honestly just bad. There is no other word for that. Even the color was bad. A good coffee drink never looks almost grey. It looked like somebody used the same coffee batch for a second brew. It tasted like what i usually describe as 'cat piss'. Hardly any coffee taste noticable. The classic taste of the liquor in a REAL Irish coffee was absent. Some fake taste that was not liquor but should make me think it went that direction. I asked for sugarfree syrups ... they don't have it, the man behind the counter said. The Starbuckers do and even in different tastes ! Staff was nice. The shop inside is rather ok. A little crowdy and cramped but I guess there is nothing else to expect from a shop in this top location. Every square centimeter should be used well. All in all, I don't want to repeat this experience again. Maybe if i ever return for a more classic kind of brew, I will be happier. But I had Starbucks the same week and was a lot more happy there for one euro more. So why would i give this brand an other chance ?
