I've been going to Rachel's Nail Spa for a little over 2 years now, and I honestly can't say enough great things! Happy to have found Kenny, as he NAILS my inspiration photos every single time! They did way better the first time I came but yesterday they were rushing and did not do well. I spent a lot of money on the nails, they aren't terrible but definitely not $55 the first set i got by them was $50 and they were cuter.(the set that's not see through) I have bubbles in my nails, and not to mention cuts on my nails from him filling way too close to my cuticles, I had to dress them up. They did a great job but 1000% recommending scheduling an appointment! I showed up right when they opened on a Saturday and still had to wait 45-hour for my pedicure and manicure. I asked in the beginning if they could fit me in and they said yes, but they should've mentioned the wait would've been that long. I think not mentioning the wait time was what made me upset. Was seriously tempted to walk out but they already had me soaking my feet. Like I said though, my nails look great and they had a large color selection. I paid $70 for both pedicure and acrylic full set so I don't think it was that bad at all. Would try this place again, but will make an appointment next time. read more

This is the best nail shop I have visited in a very long time. I went in without appointment and they serviced me within 10 minutes. The employees are very polite and very humble. I had a full set of nails done with Kenny. Let me tell you, Kenny is a true nail artist. He is so meticulous and you can just tell that he is working his art on your nails. Writing a terrible experience review for them. I asked the nail tech if they could do marble and how much it was and she never answered. They communicated between themselves and then when I looked at her she said one second. She did the foil on my nails and I asked her again about the marble and then said if she can't or it's going to take too long I just want to do a regular gel color. Also nail techs should know that you shouldn't have acetone on for that long of a period (35 minutes). Clearly did not care what I had to say because then after they assumed that I wanted only marble so they kept skipping me. If there was only one person that can do it then please COMMUNICATE to the customer so they can decide. Another thing but I think this is at nail salons across-the-board please don't say that you have time right now if you cannot take somebody within the first five minutes. That does not mean you have availability all that means is you have time at some point. (For this salon one hour wait is not that you have time for me right now) This is something that should be changing across all nail salons. All customers ask for is clear communication. The worst part: My gel nails had bubbles in them. He didn't file them underneath and are very rough. Now I need to fix them on my own. Not worth the money. Warning to not go here if you don't have a plethora of time. And if you don't want any communication from them. read more

Honestly I was disappointed with this salon. I had an appointment in the morning and the person acted as if I was a walk-in. There was no one to greet me and the guy only looked up to ask what service I wanted and continued working on the other person's nails after telling me to sit down and wait the 5 minutes for my appointment. Didn't tell me to look at any particular nail set, offer my anything to drink, etc Someone came and told me to sit down. No introduction, didn't ask me what color(s), and didn't ask me what if I wanted additional services (usually people ask you if you want a callus removal, a massage, paraffin, etc). Then the weirdest thing happen when it got busy. She told me someone else was going to work on nails while she was still in the process of cleaning my toes (I was getting a mani-pedi). Two men worked on my nails afterwards, which was fine, but during my time there, no one really talked to me. I feel like people at nail salons talk to you to build clientele and that definitely did not happen. Also a huge NO is that two of fingernails were shaped CROOKED. I only like the way Kenny does nails but he comes in on his own time despite having an appointment. Not only did he arrive at 10:45 for a 9:30 appointment and didn't mention it once 3 weeks ago, but today I had a 1030 appointment and he didn't come at all. His staff said he wasn't coming in and that he lives in Arizona... Not to mention I came to Lawndale from Riverside, 82 miles away. As a woman you usually have your preference, and this was mine. Good work, LACK OF COMPREHENSION! Some people's thing is shoes, hair or hobbies. My thing is NAILS. I have and I will spend ridiculous amounts of money for my nails. I said that to say I recently took off my acrylics and decided to try a gel manicure. I walked in and asked for a gel manicure and was told to wait (not given a wait time) no big deal. I waited for approximately 40 minutes before being seen. No big deal. I explained I just recently took my acrylics nails off and I needed a gel manicure because I wanted to start growing my natural nails. I asked could they put a layer of acrylics on my natural nails to keep them strong (because a friend of mine gets her natural nails done this way and they are very healthy and strong) A man who was not doing my nails chimed in and suggested I get the dipping gel/powder because it last longer and it will help keep my natural nails strong, I said sounds great and asked the pricing, he said $40. That was perfect. I wanted a marble design on my nail and the technician that was doing my nails was unable to do the marble so another man told me he would do it, he told me that would be an additional $5. That was fine. The man that chimed in and suggested the dipping powder told me my total would be $48. Where the $3 came from, I don't know, but this PRICE was still OK with me. They lady drills my natural nails (again I just took off acrylic) and then proceeds to dip my nails in the powder. I stop her and ask about an ACTUAL MANICURE, my nails weren't soaked in water, my cuticles weren't cut, and they were not filed or buffed prior to her placing the powder on my nails. The guy that suggested this chimes in once again and says a manicure isn't included. I asked him 'I'm paying $48 dollars just to have my nails painted?!' That doesn't make sense when my initial request was a MANICURE! He proceeds to tell me that a manicure would be an additional $14, which I was STILL willing to pay because again I CAME IN FOR A MANICURE. They began to get frustrated with me and my concern of charging $48 without doing a simple manicure. I tried to explain a countless time I still wanted the dipping powder I just wanted a real manicure first. For whatever reason they did not understand this and asked me to pick new colors for a gel manicure (since the colors I picked was the dipping powder). At this point I'm frustrated so I pick (3) new gel colors (I originally picked 3 dipping powder colors) I asked the lady to make my thumb, index and pinky the same color and the middle finger a glitter and the ring finger white. I had to say this a LITERAL 7 TIMES and literally hand her the polish per finger because she did not understand, for whatever reason. Ultimately I did get a decent gel manicure, with gel polish and paid a total of $30. The experience was so annoying I won't be back here but the work was good. read more

I fired the woman doing my nails because she man handled me as seen by plucking away cuticles harshly, she cut me, and used the drill so harshly on one nail my nerves pulsated and was tender. When I got fed up and fired her after yelping once then asking her to ease up, she told me, "I didn't even cut you." Then she reached for my hand again, but I refused. Went to get my nails done at this nail salon on a Wednesday and one week later the color of the nail drastically changed. The original color were pink with white tips and now they are an orangish color with a dirty beige tip, only after one week! I went to the nail salon to see if they can fix or replace them but they wanted to charge me for a whole new service and didn't even offer to fix them. I went in for a gel manicure. My nails were completely destroyed because I had removed my gel extensions on my own. Granted I was not expecting a great shape, I was however expecting a good paint job. The paint job was sloppy, and blotchy. She only did two coats when it was obvious that I needed a third coat due to how splotchy it was. She took a couple looks but decided not to do it. She was too busy entertaining her daughter/granddaughter and wanted to finish the job fast to get back to entertaining. I had to go to target and buy gel nail polish to fix myself. I have some mixed feelings about my experience. The salon was clean, staff was friendly, and honestly I had one of the best pedicures at this salon. The downside is that I got chemical burns all over my left foot from the callus remover. I had to tell my tech that my skin was burning. He poured water over my foot, but the damage was done. Instead of soaking the acrylics off in acetone, the older woman used the "quick" (and rough) method of peeling them off using a fake nail, and took off a good portion of my real nail. (usually +$5 at other salons) $25 mani/pedi The decor is kinda like a girls college dorm room LOL but I dig it. Instead of massage chairs they were just big comfy chairs! Way better anyway. The girls were friendly and I was chatting with the girl doing my pedi (didn't catch her name :( wahh) pretty much the whole time. Out in less than one hour with a great job on both hands and feet. Plus, ZERO trying to up-sell (I up-sold myself on a mani/pedi lol). And since it was around Christmas they gave us a little container of Candy Cane Sea Salt Scrub to take home! How sweet!! New to the area in search of a go to nail salon. I specifically made an appointment with Peter bc he seemed to be the better nail tech with the pictures mostly of his work. I came in for a fill and 3 nail fix which came to $25. The shape was pretty dead on from my previous tech with the exception of my right thumb nail.
