I admit, this salon isn't the fanciest out of all the salons out there but their quality of work is definitely something that makes up for it. Here's how I would break down this place: Customer Service: 5 They are always super friendly! This is a family owned salon and they are all very humble and kind people. As soon as I arrive they greet me and ask me what I am there for and they always give me an estimated wait time. Mom (the older woman) is always very gentle when she's working on my pedicure and she always checks in with me to make sure she's not hurting me. I always get my manicures done with the guy and he's always super nice even when I ask him for his opinion on which color would look best ( I'm superrr indecisive lol). The only minor critique I would have is based mainly on their inconsistent hours, if you plan on coming early in morning I would suggest calling the day before to ask what time they'll be opening the following day. Cleanliness : 3.2 Again, this place is definitely not the fanciest. They do not have spa chairs and pedicures are done in foot tubs. I do always see them switching and cleaning tools which is very important. Overall, I would say that they are clean and consistent when it comes to hygiene but they are in desperate need of an upgrade. Quality: 4.5 Pedicures are always perfectly done. I love coming here for pedicures because she knows how to cut my nails without hurting me and really does a nice job of leaving my nails looking and feeling cute, clean, and even. Manicures are soooo bomb here, my nails always last for a whole month and I've never had a problem with any of them falling off. I absolutely hate bumpy/lumpy or bubbly/fat looking nails and I can always count on my manicurist leaving my nails looking smooth, sharp and exactly the shape that I asked for. I get my nails done by the guy but I've noticed that the woman who also does manicures also has a lot of clients who specifically request her. The only downside to their work is that they do not have a lot of choices in color when it comes to bottle nail polishes. They do have a lot of choices when it comes to gel polish so I definitely recommend getting gel. Price: 5 I pay only $35 for an acrylic full set gel manicure. Pedicures and fills are also very cheap ! This place is perfect for someone who has bills to pay but is still trying to lcute on a budget :) ! It was my first time here & there was no customer so I got in right away. I have been on a mission to find a nails salon that the owners actually do your nails themselves not their staffs. It has always been a miss at the other nail bars I have tried around Manhattan Beach and Hawthorne. Definitely will be coming back. Gel pedicure: she was so gentle & the color application was on point, not patchy & it was applied super close to my cuticles which I LOVE. Manicure: I have natural long nails but needed some base to strengthen & help my nails grow. Tim did a thin layer of acrylic on top of my natural nails + manicure + gel color. The color he chose was the exact match to my inspo photo. All was $75 without tips. I would love to try liquid hard gel next time I'm there if they have it instead of acrylic because I like super super natural thin nail bed. 10/10 overall because I know that Tim would understand my preferences better the more times I visit. read more

I really like the way they do the acrylic nails and how fast they are however i do not appreciate they lack of updating their work hours. I went on Monday at 10:00am bc their hours state that the open from 10-5. I show up and they were closed. I left at 10:30am and they never showed up. I went in the afternoon and asked the man what time they open the following day. He dated at 10:40ish i said ok. On Tuesday i showed up at 11 and they were not there. there was another customer who had their cell phone number and she stated that they were going to show up at 11:30. I can understand a long wait due to having a crowded nail shop, but expect to wait on an average of 2-3 HOURS because there's only one nail tech working at a time. So I took my daughter here because I live in walking distance and because it was open later in the afternoon on a Saturday. I looked at many reviews of places and decided to try this one. I went on a Sunday afternoon around 1:00pm and was out by 2:00pm after getting a full set and pedicure! The total came to $26. I recommend bringing cash because they do charge for cards. They're full set starts at $15 and pedicure was $11. My nails look so beautiful. I got my nails done by the youngest girl, she was quick, but made sure everything looked nice. This has got to be the saddest and most expensive set of my life. I asked for a sparkly nude acrylic powder with a coffin/tapered shape. The acrylic powder looked so lovely but then he started buffing the nail with the drill and it completely scratched the glitter off and it left my nail super scratched as well. This is what the color is supposed to look like after two weeks, not on a fresh set. I had to tell him to fix three of my nail shapes from the tip bc it was crooked. It's unfair that I paid $54 for this trash set. They don't even have a price list anywhere. I've paid the same for a very fancy set. I've seen ugly crystals before but these.... they look like they got them from the silicone packets that come in purses. my friends set (pink) was almost $50 and supposedly it was because of the length. Best times are the times people don't usually go which is after work 2-5pm and Fri-Sunday's are always more poppin (to be expected so as a customer, stop with all the attitude at the door) I've been there when people try to "call ahead" to askhow many people are in the salon, and when they're told there's no one there but there's no appointment..they show up minutes later to find someone had walked in and have the AUDACITY to be negative towards the staff. If you call a place and ask if there's a line, that DOES NOT guarantee that someone won't walk in while you're "driving there" so stop being so damn rude. I decided to try out Kim's Nails because I had three aunts that spoke highly of the only male worker here. Ting's acrylic game is literally "on fleek." Although I was the only client since it was lunch time, Ting worked fast but efficiently. The little salon is very tornado proof since the walls are cemented all over. Not really of use in California but it's a cozy little joint. The nail polish selection isn't great at all though. No familiar brands at least. I would recommend buying a beautiful nail polish and bringing it instead. Still cheaper than your standard manicures at other salons. I forgot to bring my own polish but I did find one that managed to stand out called "Million Dollar Red" & they are def million dollar looking nails! But guess what, it was only $15 ;) People complaining about parking are pathetic. It's not a shopping mall, what do you expect. It does seem like there are 4 spaces, since I read reviews prior to going, I just parked right in front on the street. Easy ins and easy outs this way! Mediocre pedicure. I brought in my own nail polish for quality and color purposes so I'm pleased with that. My design is also beautiful. HOWEVER...the atmosphere made me uncomfortable. It felt stiff and the "calming" music was glitching. There were flies in the shop with two stand up fans blowing air in. Mind you, my tub of water was warm to lukewarm within minutes. My heels were hardly touched with a pumice... My big toes were also cut very short unfortunately. The "rundown" look of the store isn't what turned me off. Obviously its not a salon..... Overall its cheap, close to home, and a decent job. I'm satisfied but its unlikely that I'd be back anytime soon. You get what you pay for. Lesson learned. :) read more

First timer at Kim's nails and Thu did my pedicure. She did a fantastic job and really got the edges of my nails. (Which is so awesome cuz most places only do surface level cleaning, meaning they don't really get the edges) Overall super happy with this place! I brought my own nail polish since the variety of nail polish isn't super big. Just know they have a $10 minimum to use a credit card and you will be charged a 75cent fee. Super fair!
