Nate demonstrates pride in workmanship and spends a significant amount of time with you as a couple (for us), to determine exactly what you want in your photographs. Nate requested ideas and examples from my husband and I as to the types of photographs we liked. Based on Nate's experience, he introduced more ideas. As a bride, I and my wedding party as well as everyone else who wandered in and of our venue felt comfortable with Nate from the very beginning. Our photographs turned out perfect!! Nate even took pictures of us in front of our fireplace with our dogs. No detail was left out; things we didn't think of, Nate did. Nate has taken care of us every step of the way...read further for details. Nate is prompt, and actually early on the day of our rehearsal and wedding, AND he came to our site and spent at least two hours with us to determine what we were looking for. 100% of the time, Nate is responsive to texts and emails, this is without question. You will not be waiting weeks or months to hear from Nate and you will not have to meet with him again and again to let him know what prints you want, etc. I went to make prints of our photos (most photographers will not provide images of your event). Nate does this. Well, I had a brides worst nightmare, the link had expired and the first year, we made prints for family but we did not make our own. Nate hand delivered everything and made it right. You can't go wrong here. Nate also worked with our service providers, caterer, DJ, maid of honor, reverend, etc. to make sure everyone knew what had to occur so photographs of our wedding were what we wanted. If there is a shot Nate doesn't get, he tells you right at the moment and you can elect to redo it or elect not to do so. (it was the cake cutting for us and at that time, we weren't worried about the cake). Nate demonstrates from the very beginning he cares about his customer(s) and his work. We could not have asked for anything better. We are a couple who has experienced other photographers for weddings, graduations, personal photographs, etc. There is no comparison to Nate's work, abilities and customer service. She was available during our delivery window, and she had a backup photographer available if the baby came earlier. She was easy to communicate with, prompt with answering emails and very reasonably priced for her beautiful quality of work. We were unable to meet beforehand, but my husband let her know how my labor was progressing and she came at the perfect time. Even though we hadn't met, she was so easy to talk to and so professional and very mellow and calming during the whole experience. To be honest, I took a risk on Dustin…read more I waited until the very last minute to find a photographer for my son's Red Egg & Ginger Party (100th-day celebration) and was on a tight budget after splurging on an expensive venue with a long guest list. It was also my first time using Thumbtack. I scrolled through some of the more "popular" and higher-priced photographers, who also had a ton of reviews, but did not feel that their style was what I was looking for. When Dustin contacted me, I wasn't sure in the beginning due to his sparse reviews; however, upon visiting his website and IG, I was impressed with his portfolio and the depth shown in all of his photos. However, most of the pictures were of outdoor weddings and my party was mostly an indoor event. But it was just days before my event, and his price was within my budget, so I crossed my fingers and hoped for the best. On the day of the event, Dustin arrived even earlier than I did to the restaurant. Upon seeing him, he was already looking around, scoping out the venue, checking the lighting, and taking test shots. I gave him very little instructions to work with - all I wanted were some family portraits and candid shots of the party. From there, he snapped away for 3+ hours, always patient and in the background of a very chaotic Asian party, and I barely noticed he was there the whole time. Fast forward 9 days (5 business days), I received the thumb drive that I provided Dustin for the photos. He ended up producing and edited almost 400 photos, double what I had expected. As my husband and I scrolled through the pictures, it reconfirmed that we totally made the right choice going with him - he brought all of the care and detail and atmospheric elements of his romantic outdoor weddings to a loud, disorganized brunch party and made everything look timeless, precious and heartwarming. Not only that, he provided color AND black & white versions in both high AND low resolutions. That meant I got 4 copies of each shot to play around with!
