Krista is awesome and this review is long overdue. My team has taken work headshots and team photos several times over the years. We have used over the top production like photographers who provide hair and makeup that equates to exorbitant pricing and also other people who basically told us they can deliver the moon and stars and then the final products fell totally flat. We had very bad pictures taken by another photographer and soon after, I stumbled upon Krista from Maylight Studio on Yelp. I hesitated for a second because we didn't really want to spend more money to redo photos when we just paid another photography company and have the whole inconvenience of everyone getting ready again, having to all be in the office at the same time, etc. but in my gut, I felt like we needed to. Let me tell you...Krista delivered!! We are a pretty particular bunch and Krista took many photos and was able to provide each of us (8 in total) with a headshot we all liked. She also worked with our office setting and provided us with a great group photo, utilizing a piece of art already in our office as the backdrop. She's extremely professional, adaptable, and has a good eye for detail. I would without hesitation recommend her for your headshot and group photo needs. Krista did an absolutely amazing job for me. I needed new photos for business use (I'm a veterinarian that sub-contracts to multiple animal hospitals), and so they needed to be professional. Of course, I needed a pet in the photo with me, which is not easy to manage to catch everyone looking just right. However, I also did not want the cliche photo of white clinic coat and sitting stiffly on a stool---I wanted something just a little more casual and fun, more personable and friendly. Krista nailed it. She spent considerably more than my allotted time, and was impeccable in attending to the tiniest details, the perfect lighting, positioning and background options. She was really invested in translating my requests into reality. I had the best experience with a Maylight Studio and Krista! To be perfectly honest, I had to have my head shot completed this week via my company requirements and I was not looking forward to it. A coworker told me to turn my iphone to a special lighting and I could do just about as good as any photographer. That was not the case at all!!! Photoshoots (whether headshots, family portraits, etc.) are normally really stressful and uncomfortable for me -- For how much I'm paying, I'm always worried about whether the pictures will turn out any good. Her website was clear, services offered up front with pricing, and it was easy to book sessions. Her studio was easy to find, clean, and professional. She took some time to get to know us, what we were looking for, and ensure we felt comfortable before getting behind the camera. While being in front of the camera is still one of my least favorite things, Krista was very attentive to what we wanted in poses, lighting, background colors and even took some time to explain how the equipment worked to my partner. What Krista does in touch-up/post-production is great. You can tell it's been touched up, but still looks natural and not overly done. I had my doubts about the giant grease spots on my forehead! I went to Maylight Studio to get a professional portrait done so that I could update my linked in. I cannot express enough gratitude for the amazing work that Krista does. I absolutely HATE taking photos--I'm legitimately terrible at it. I'm just so awkward and have a really hard time taking the act of taking photos of myself seriously.
