We went to Harbor Lights for Easter brunch and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. When we arrived, the dining room felt cold and damp because a window near our table was left open--even though it was cold and rainy outside. It set the tone for what ended up being a very uncomfortable meal. The organization of the brunch was extremely poor. All tables were seated and then released at the same time, which created complete chaos. There was no direction, no clear flow, and no communication. Two lines formed for the buffet, but there wasn't nearly enough space to accommodate everyone. At the carving station, both lines collided and people had to awkwardly cross over each other just to access different items. The food itself was also underwhelming. Several of the vegetables were undercooked, and overall the quality did not meet expectations for a holiday brunch. To add to the frustration, I asked for milk for my mom's coffee (she can't have cream), and after about 10 minutes, we were told there was no milk anywhere in the building. Overall, it was a very disappointing experience--especially for a special occasion like Easter. Unfortunately, we won't be returning. read more

This review is for Par and Tackle, the outdoor restaurant at Harbor Lights. This is a lovely spot in the afternoon, and evening in the summer and it is a perfect place to watch the sun set. The setting is casual with dining tables, high top tables with bar stools, and Adirondack chairs. There is the option for covered seating, and the patio also extends beyond the covered portion for those wishing to sit in the open air. From the dining area, you have great views of the water, boats, and you can also see part of the golf course. Service at Par & Tackle is always friendly and the food and drinks are very good. I especially like their frozen mudslides, and their burgers & wings are both excellent. This is one of our favorite summertime spots. read more

We live in warwick so this is an easy place to get to with nice grounds and a fantastic view The restaurant has a pretty limited menu but that's somewhat expected in a seasonal business. Every year we take a ride over and HOPE that this will be the year that the service doesn't suck. We stopped in on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon to have a couple of drinks and enjoy the view. My wife ordered a Mudslide ( their specialty drink) no problem. I asked if they have Pina Coladas and the server gave ma a half an eye roll and said "yeah but they're Really a hassle ". I replied "well, I'd hate to inconvenience the bartender " and waited to see if she might realize her poor choice of response to a paying, tipping, customer. NOPE. Didn't even blink. I ordered a beer, we had our drinks and left. We should have left at the time of her comment , but we had the one drink. She never came back to check on us. You can get a drink and sit on the Adirondack chair and relax, or be seated for some amazing food. We had calamari and the crispy chicken skin with toasted Brussel sprouts. Delish. For my main I had a burger with bacon and pulled pork. Others at the table order crab cakes, salads and a Caesar wrap. Everyone has was very happy with their meal. It's not fun to write this review, but I hope by doing so things will change for the better. First the good stuff: the location is great, especially before sunset, when you get one of the best views over the water, and the staff is attentive and friendly. And, when there is live music, the vibe is perfect. However, those aren't enough to overcome the disappointing meals we had last night (8/16/25). We've been coming here for years so have many points of comparison. We were hoping for calamari to start but that is no longer on the menu. Disappointing, but we tried something new called Crackling Chips which was described as having chicken skin with bacon Brussel sprouts. Be ready for a just a big bowl of Brussels sprouts, with 4 "skin" chips. Definitely not the chips app we were expecting. For our entrees, my son ordered the seasoned sirloin medium rare which was inedible when he got to the middle because it was SO raw. My husband also had the sirloin on top of his Caesar salad (which is made w/radicchio for some reason.) They both know a good steak and were disappointed with the "chewiness" of theirs. I went with the salmon which was bland. The salmon and saffron rice were barely warm and the veggies on the side were huge pieces and a bit undercooked. We all felt the entree dish size was way too small for each of our meals - with food spilling off the dishes onto the table when we tried to eat. Sadly, we don't expect to return again. Harbor Lights is the Perfect Wedding Venue! We can't thank Julia Bush and Harbor Lights staff enough. Our daughter and son in law had their dream wedding there. The views are spectacular, but more importantly, the day--from pre-wedding pictures, to the ceremony, to the cocktail hour, to the reception--ran flawlessly. We met with Julia Bush about a year before the wedding day where she outlined all the options and costs, so there were no surprises and we had a very good idea of the cost. She continued to meet with us and answer our questions leading up to the wedding, with one big meeting 3 months out and another one month out, plus all the other questions and answers in between. We went over every possible detail with her. She made it easy. Then on the wedding day, it was just perfect. Everyone loved the setting, the cocktail hour with the availability of the driving range (a big hit), the reception room, and their meals. It was over before we knew it and so happy we booked there. This was an awesome spot for a great drink, a great meal and a great view! The menu is small, only a few apps, salads, and handhelds (sandwiches). However, the view is what makes this good food great! There was a drink menu that we chose our drinks from, and they were all very good. Two of us had the chicken sandwich, and the other had the crab cake appetizer. The chunks of crab were large to say the least, and she said they were delicious. The chicken was a piece of fried chicken with lettuce, tomato, pickles and ranch dressing. Very, very good. We ordered an extra serving of fries, that's how good those were! Although the open restaurant was on a golf course, it is open to the public. I got lost following GPS! but it really was a little confusing since it is in a neighborhood. The improvements I recommend for Harbor Lights are detailed in this letter to the management: Dear Melodi, I recently inquired about event space at Harbor Lights for my daughter's wedding. With every communication came a blow of disappointment which I believe was unnecessary and in contrast with good customer service. First of all, your brochure says a daytime event in an outside tent has a $3500 venue fee. I considered 1-5pm daytime. At best, it is only 2 hours into night time yet it would still incur a full night time venue fee, as I was informed. Perhaps you should include the hours on your brochure. Then when I requested a quote within your daytime hours ending at 3 pm, I'm told the wood floor is not included and there is a $13000 f&b minimum. Your brochure shows a $13000 minimum for night time but no minimum for daytime. Also I'm told that the entire bill is subject to a service charge, whereas your contract language says service charges apply to food and beverage items, NOT the total bill including venue. Not in the contract language is a labor fee of $375, which I'm told is for the bartender. I understand it must be nice to be in a business where you can charge for the cost of doing business, but can I say it's in poor taste? It feels like gouging the customer because you can. Finally, when I presented my concerns to Julia, I was sent an email that contained no explanation for the discrepancies, but instead asked me to understand that you try to "balance guest experiences with the well-being and productivity of your teams and property." As a customer, the productivity of your teams and property is not my concern, nor should you ask me to be concerned with it. Let me be kind enough to inform you: I don't have a problem with you making a profit, I have a problem with you telling me every inch of the way that your more concerned with your own well being than you are with mine. I take issue with the fact that the price I see isn't the real price, and you can change it without putting it in writing. Your brochures are inaccurate but you seem not to care, because after all it's a wedding, and I can take it or leave it. That is an ATTITUDE of Harbor Lights and one that did not escape me. So my kind recommendation to you is simple. Update your brochures. Change the definition of "service fee" in the contract language, as it applies not to food and beverage items, but the whole bill. Add labor as defined by "the bartenders salary." If there is a $13000 f&b minimum for daytime tent events- print it! Currently that is not written anywhere. I say I'm being kind, because I don't need to spell this out for you as many missed client opportunities have not done. My experience has been nothing short of an unending bait and switch scheme which I may continue to proliferate my outrage on bridal outlets. May I recommend you fix it quickly. I will fast forward here....we walked in the door and were told immediately that the kitchen was backed up so they couldn't serve us....tables were not full....we were told we could sit at the bar for a drink...but again..kitchen was backed up so we couldn't be served food. Could we sit at a table and have a drink and see how the kitchen worked out their issues, we asked? Sure...go take a look around. We found a nice table overlooking the water. We sat down. The hostess came over and said we couldn't sit there. It was reserved for a party at 3:00. It was 1:30....okay...we were out! As we were leaving three guys came up the dock, sat down at the bar and were given menus.....hmmmm...so....I said this would be quick...sorry...it wasn't....we ended up at Harbor Lights. We got seated right away. Our waitress was awesome. Food and drinks were great. We must have been there for three hours! I sent a DM to Captain's a few days later....they asked us to give them another try. They would be happy to give us a free round of drinks! No thank you! Harbor Lights $350...Captains $0! They served store bought cookies instead- some with the word "Biscuit" on them! Probably made by Nabisco. Stopped in to check this place out and have a cup of clam chowder. The chowder cup was not even 3/4 full, but that part wasn't so bad considering I couldn't handle more than a few spoonfuls. It was the worse clam chowder I've ever tasted in all my travels around southern New England. It was overly thick/rich, lacked clams and potatoes, and had a strong bacon flavor. This 9 hole course is near me and convenient, so I play there often. The layout is interesting and somewhat challenging, could be a really good course. But the course is always muddy, even late in the year..this year there was a lot of rain, so it is worse. Makes the golf experience less than enjoyable. Gets a lot of weekend play. Grounds crew does as best as they can with what they have to work with. Tee boxes are all chewed up. Harbor Lights paved a huge parking lot but it seems as though they could have spent some money on drainage issues. What I really want to do is give this one star so no one except a select few people visit... this way I will always have a seat at the bar, because once this gets out I can pretty much assume that finding a seat around the tiki bar will be damn near impossible. The views are spectacular, the staff are personable, friendly, and like to joke around with the regulars. I consider myself a regular, so please make sure I have a seat available when I show up. I'd appreciate it. This is a seasonal place, and for $20 you can grab a lounge chair and have access to the pool for the day. Theres a mix of older and younger people. Restrooms are clean, and stocked. The food comes off the food truck called the Tiki Truck. Tasty dishes for good prices, quick service. We had one issue with one of our dishes that the staff caught before we did, and promptly took care of us. (If you must know, we only received 5 clam cakes instead of 6!) There's a little something for all, from black bean burgers to fish tacos to clam cakes to salads. So would I recommend this place? I went to a beautiful wedding at this location, but as a member of the wedding party I witnessed the venue's many and significant flaws. First, the venue didn't honor its meal preorders. A vegetarian myself, I was served meat at the wedding with apologies. The apology was appreciated but not a solution to my hunger. Other guests were also served items other than what they had ordered in advance. Very disappointing! Secondly, the wedding coordinator showed up more than half an hour late on the wedding day, leaving no one to be found when the wedding party arrived. Several of us had to scramble to clean rooms (in our gowns!). This led to a rush and chaos that led to a wedding party theft. This theft of more than $2,000 of jewelry occurred on premises and the organization denied responsibility. The wedding party had been assured our possessions would be safe and under lock. Harbor Lights and its staff and management refused to help the victim, also a member of the wedding party. The lack of responsiveness of Harbor Lights and its management. Nice view for sure, but the customer service was shameful. This seems to be reflected in several of the venue reviews. read more
