Had a nail in my tire pulled in on my way home... cost me $45.64 to plug a tire took them 10 minutes tops. That's crazy expensive.

Racine Auto Specialists had helped me from the beginning when I had a check gage light on my 96 Suburban. With this light unfortunately not being an easy fix, the engine was then replaced. In the process, there were understanding complications due to the complexity of the job as in finding the best parts for an older vehicle. A very honest and competent shop, qualities that are not easy to find in shops anymore. They accept I information from amateur mechanics like myself rather than assume they're the only ones who could know anything about a vehicle. They're also very polite, which also seems to be harder and harder to find these days. In their lounge there's an amazing huge fish tank; this has nothing to do with auto repairs but it's something that should be mentioned about the place nonetheless. Simply amazing!! On my way home from work Thursday night I had alternator issues. I'm relatively new to the area, so when I got home I was looking for a auto mechanic to take my car. Friday morning I called this shop and they said I could bring it in and they would fit me in somewhere. I dropped my car off at 8:05 am and they called me telling me it was done by 11:20! They're friendly enough, however I will say, Do Not Go There! Went in with a clutch problem $1000 later they told me it was fixed. Two weeks later the check engine light comes on and the clutch is not working properly. $350 later they told me the clutch was again fixed and so was the oxygen sensor that made the light come on. Two weeks later the light is back on, now they want another $150 to fix it again. Think I got ripped off? I do! Would give no stars if I could. read more

My car was dropped off for alignment and they were told to be careful of scraping the lowered car and about how I look over and analyze every little detail and to please be careful of everything. I put my car in "Valet" mode before giving it up to them, in case someone wanted to play games. They took it for a test drive before and after, fine. What is not fine for an alignment test drive is Wide Open Throttle through a residential neighborhood. That is not testing the alignment. Dash cam and engine logs showed that. Kid took it for a joy ride. Unprofessional. They got the car on the rack and were careful about it, awesome. During the alignment, the staff was burping and sneezing in the car, wiping their nose with their hands, then getting in and out of my car to move it, absolutely disgusting, especially during a "Pandemic"!!! Gross. Then they called me expletive names and made fun of how I didn't want my car scratched. Well now there is a huge scratch/gouge in my door handle!! It is beyond repair and is completely embarrassing to me since I take such great care of my car. Maybe they saw that they destroyed the door handle and that's why they were talking shit about me telling them to be careful? You would think one would have the common sense to not talk negatively about a customer while in the customer's car. I am so pissed off about this whole experience with Racine Auto Specialists. However, the alignment specs did come out good for the car. But I definitely will not be back for my next alignments and do not recommend this business. Unprofessional to say the least. Get yourself a dashcam, it has helped me so many times! read more
