I walked in by myself one afternoon and was immediately welcomed by a bar full of regulars and a warm and friendly bartender. I got a "hey come on in", "welcome", "I like your sweater", "this seat is open!" Right off the bat. A few local patrons "adopted" me as one of their own, even though I was just in town visiting. Drinks are cheap. And there is an outdoor area for smoking, with heat lamps in the winter. It is predominantly a Steelers bar (football), and it's where a lot of active and retired Marines go to let loose. Pool tables, darts, and video trivia are available too! The bar tenders were all friendly and efficient. They did not bat an eye when I ordered my strange metal show cocktail (whiskey and redbull). Finally the layout of the venue is the best I have experienced. The designated walkways and the little wall separating the pit from the rest of the venue was so smart. Can't wait to come back!
