Note I did check out a few other "surf" shops in OCMD that were quite frankly a hot mess and junky. The outside and inside was very pristine and well kept. I love all the brands Oakley, Costa, Rip Curl, etc. The staff was pretty nice. I did buy a Ron Jon pop socket for my phone. Probably overpaid for a Ron Jon logo one but alas I'm from the West Coast and I thought it was cool. When I got back home I found a cute Ron Jon sticker they put in my bag. My take on what they sell here...Hard No. If you're into pastels, bold colors, more cut off shirts then Larry the Cable Guy owns, loud prints and logoed corporate merch then I guess you might be good here. But, if you're an anti-consumer like myself, you'll last about three minutes before your eyes will roll back in your head like a shark chomping down on a harbor seal waiting for the deliverance of leaving. The staff we encountered was very nice and they answered a question or two my wife asked regarding the few trinkets she wanted. I asked twice if she could give me a room and I was just ignored. Went back Sunday in the hopes I would have better luck with customer service and still awful. Asked a young lady for a specific show size, she said she would check for me, walked away and went straight to the counter and just stood there . No one asked if I needed help and when I approached a clerk you would have thought I just requested their first born. This place is terrible!

My complaint is this store. There are about 2 employees who genuinely try to help you and who seem like they enjoy their job. I have been mostly shopping online lately for this exact reason. My last time in the store was the worst experience I have had there, and it drove me to finally write a review. The staff acted like they could care less about me, the significant purchase I was trying to make, or anything else for that matter. One of the employees had a child with her, who appeared to be her daughter. One employee was sitting on the ground sorting through underwear to organize (I'm assuming) while talking to another employee. I waited at the register to check out for over 5 minutes, and if I wasn't in need of a specific item I would have left. The employees acted as if they knew I was there, but were "busy". I worked retail for many years and I would have never thought to act that way during work hours WITH customers in the store. When one employee finally did come to ring me up, she didn't push the current store promo BOGO 50% off. I would have definitely picked out another item, but didn't see the signs until I was leaving. The moral of the story is...shop online or go to another store. The Dover store is about an hour from me, and I would go there solely because the service is way better.
