Once she settled in, Tyler adjusted perfectly making it the smoothest bike to assist her learning curve to her first e-bike. Prior to leaving, I was jealous and bought one for myself as well. My bike has been in their shop since May 15th, and no one can give me a date when they expect the part. I've been meaning to check out this bike shop for a while. I decided to test ride a rad expand and throughly enjoyed it. Signing up for a test ride was easy. Sign the waiver on their tablet, slap on a provided helmet, give them a glance of your ID, and you're on your way. It helps that there's an actual bike path next to the store and they give you about 20 minutes to test ride the bike of your choosing. Such a rad store (no play on words). I have owned two Rad Power Bikes since the company first came into business, which my girlfriend and I use for local transportation aound our bike-friendly town of Coronado, CA. My original (their first) Rad Power Bike has over 5,100 miles, has been overhauled once by Rad Power Bikes in Imperial Beach, and my girlfriend has the larger tire version and racks for shopping. Everybody we talked to there, every time we went there, was pleasant & helpful & happy to answer all of our questions - and I had A LOT of questions! We ended up ordering what turned out to be the very first blue bike they'd get so we knew we'd have to wait for it. John (pictured with the kids) & the rest of the Rad crew kept us posted & it arrived exactly when they said it would & we had a great experience. Unfortunately for us, both kids had e-bike crashes a couple of weeks later .....but once again, John & the Rad crew took great care of the bikes & the kids were up & riding (a little slower maybe!) & loving their bikes. Tom is a legend. I accidentally disconnected the power cable in the wire harness located in the frame of the bike. We were leaving from Palm desert the morning of the 3rd to Coronado for a family tradition and the bike was dead. Tom heard my panic and told me to come and he will help me. After dropping the kid and wife at sea world I headed straight there. Got there at 3:40 and was fixed and out the door at 4:15. Cost, $30 for labor. I was prepared to pay well over $100 for a rushed service. The team did a 10 star job! read more

I'm giving 4 stars because I love my bike and I am happy with the folks I've actually spoken to there. So far my bike has been good to me. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because a few days after I got it, the tire went flat. I hadn't hit anything and thought it was weird. I called 3 times hoping to speak with someone and got the voicemail each time. I left message and asked for call back and I have yet to receive one. I ended up fixing things myself cause to make a repair appointment, it was going to be 3 weeks. I'd only had the bike 3 days. Anyways, I fixed it with slime and it's been good since. While I do recommend this place as your go to for purchasing an e-bike, I can't yet say if the repair shop is good or not. I bought my first Rad during Covid and loved it. Is group of friends also bought at the same time and love theirs. I then recently bought another one with the big fat tires for guests. I love it. The downside to the fat tire bike is the battery came dead. It took a long time to get in touch with someone at Rad. I wish they had better customer support. WARNING!! I visited this location in 4/2025 and wasn't at all satisfied with my experience. After reviewing their website, I saw were it said rentals $20 an hour. I loaded my Rad bike onto my vehicle, picked up a friend, who never experience an ebike before, and journeyed to Imperial Beach from north county. I spoke to, sales associate, Brianna and she indicated to me that I'd have to pay for a minimum of 3 hours. I kindly made her aware that that isn't what their website display. She indicated that they changed the website and that the changes didn't upload yet. This was clearly a lie, because to date, May 19,2025, the website still reflects $20 an hour with no minimum of 3 hours. After Brianna's blatant lie I asked to speak to the manager, Thomas. I was told that he was in a meeting, but that Thomas said that I could ride for $20 for the hour and void the minimum of 3 hours. By this time, I was flustered and felt like she could have used discretion from the very beginning instead of the circular conversation, so I declined the offer. I informed Brianna that she lost a sale of a new ebike that day, because I was going to purchase one if my friend liked it. She was dismissive with my statement which I'm not surprised. Their website is false advertisement, and I hope they update it soon. In the past I've had very professional and courteous interactions with service members, however, this time it didn't go as expected. When I showed Brianna their website that was her opportunity to excel above and beyond and use good faith discretion without all of the extra. She failed, and it was unfortunate management couldn't make the time in making sure a customer was happy and satisfied. Brianna's dishonesty should be addressed. read more

DO NOT GIVE ANY BUSINESS TO RAD POWER BIKES! I would avoid this company at all costs if you care about your life and safety. They are unethical and will do anything to make money off you. The products they sell are trash from China and not safe for anyone! The quality control is a joke and so many of their models have design flaws that could severally injure you. If you Google "Rad Power Bikes" you will see all the problems and lawsuits agains't them. Too many to even count. They had to recall thousands of their Radwagon models due to injuries and now there are many pending lawsuits agains't them. It appears Rad Power Bikes hire managers like Cornell Stanton that have no knowledge about any of the bikes. It appears he knows very little about the products he promotes and sells. My interaction with Cornell Stanton was horrible. The guy has no clue about any of their bikes and he was very condescending when he spoke to me. Basically, he talked to me like I was an idiot and the funny part is that I know way more about bikes then that dude will ever know. You're a manager so I would think you would know these bikes inside and out but nope. He is clearly more interested in making commission than giving people proper information about the products he sells. If I owned this company I would never hire a manager like Cornell Stanton. I can guarantee you that his lack of knowledge and his condescending attitude has already cost this company thousands of dollars in revenue. Rad Power Bikes are basically regular bikes with motors on them. The parts on their bikes are not rated for motorized operation. They puts basic cheap parts that most regular bikes have and the parts burn out twice as fast. Thats part of their poor business model, the bikes break twice as fast as a regular bikes so that means you will need to have twice the amount of work done which means even more money in their pockets. It's sick that you would put profits before safety and lives! They sell the bikes with a 20mph limit but you can easily go into the display to overclock the bikes to go 25 mph. They sell their ebikes as class 2 but once you overclock the bike to 25 mph its no longer a class 2 ebike. There are videos all over the internet showing you how to overclock the motor and it's so easy to do it. How is this legal? I also read that they are pulling Rad Power Bikes out of Europe all together in 2024. They have sold thousands of bikes there and once they leave Europe how are any of these people going to get their ebikes fixed or even get replacement parts? Another example of them not caring about their loyal customers that have supported Rad Power Bikes for years. This should be a warning to all the other Ebikes companies out there! If you put profits before people you will always lose just like Rad Power Bikes. If you or anyone you know is riding a Radwagon I would return it due to the recall and lawsuits. These problems and injuries will continue to happen until they decide to do the right thing. This is my personal opinion based off my interactions and experience with this company, their employees, and their products. read more

Took my daughters bike in for service and was given a price of $60 out the door to replace break pads. When we picked up the bike they charged us $160 bucks. They did not call to let us know they replaced the wires in break pads as well and did not mention anything about labor charge until we picked up the bike. Literally, so annoying when you are not expecting a charge like that. I just wish I would of known upfront of actual pricing. read more

I bought my first electric bike, I'm looking forward to using it. I'm still waiting for the base for the dog carrier though. I've called them so many times to order it, they always tell me they'll call me back when it's in, they never do. The ladies I've been dealing with always sound like they couldn't care less. As a business owner I'm shocked with their attitude about not helping a customer and not selling more products. I feel sorry for the people who own this business because the sales girls I've been dealing with don't follow through. We came out from Riverside which took about an hour and a half and made it 30 minutes before closing. The staff is beyond amazing. The RAD power bike store in San Diego is doing for retail bike stores what In & Out did for the burger store. Great product, superior service, intelligent staff and a welcoming environment. Just Brilliant! Love my RAD Power Bike store in San Diego. Shout out to Scott, Jessie and John. Great service. If you are reading the reviews to buy this bike, then you are asking yourself a lot of questions about your purchase. My advice, stop trolling on the internet and go to the store. The staff are plentiful and have a very professional and knowledgeable disposition. Take a test ride at the store and try different frame and tire sizes. Riding an electric bike is not all about using the throttle, but that is nice, it's about giving you the flexibility of having that power available when you get a big hill or are just plain tuckered out and need a brake from peddling. Using the peddle assist is just fantastic, it comes in smoothly and is very controllable with 5 power settings. I never use level 5 as it's like a rocket launch. The weight of the bikes are industry standard. They are not your 20 lb racing bike, they come in around 70lbs. Which sounds a lot, but when you look at the quality of the frame and welds, the weight is understandable. The last thing you want is a torque twist of the frame under power. So the weight of the bikes was not an issue for me when purchasing, but worth pointing out. I have two bikes the Rover Step Through and the Runner + both with Fat tires. I mount them on the back of the Jeep with the Hollywood Bike rack from RAD. The bike rack is solid and one person can load both bikes by walking the bike onto the rack one wheel at a time. Once they are loaded the bikes don't move and the rack does not wobble. VERY SOLID! Quick tip: When buying the rack be sure to purchase the additional cross bars for the bikes if they don't have a cross bar. The clamps of the bike rack pull down on these bars to secure the bikes on the rack. Additional purchases: The tire inserts. These are rubber liners that go between the innertube and the tire wall. It gives you about half an inch of foam to absorb any small nails or pins. I had one puncture and then purchased the inserts. We do most riding off road so it was a good investment for us. No punctures since. Now to problems: Initially when I purchased the bikes I was unaware of the store in San Diego and purchased them off the website. This was after about 12 months of research. Obviously not researching the location of their stores during that time!!!!! I ordered the same bike for my wife and I and it turned out that this was going to be too big for my wife. So I had to send it back under their 14 day test ride feature. I was dubious and kicking myself once I realized there was a store in San Diego and was expecting a nightmare. Quite the contrary; They sent me all the paperwork to return and even set up a time for the bike to be collected and a refund was given in less than a week. This goes a long way to tell you what kind of company RAD Power Bikes are. So if after reading this you are not convinced, maybe you should go car shopping and remind yourself what a Saga that can be. D. Living the RAD life! read more

The quality and build of my RADROVER 6 plus is phenomenal. This is not a review about their products. It is a review about their customer service which I rate as 1 star. I recently purchased this bike direct from RAD POWER BIKES in late AugustI took a couple weeks but I received my bike here in St Petersburg, FL on Sept 8. The following week they ran an ad on Facebook for $400 off the same bike. I called in to their customer service that week. It took all day for them to call me back and by the time they did, I couldn't reach them back, no answer, just answering service again. Then the next week, last week, we had a massive hurricane barreling down in us and i was in a mandatory evacuation zone and had to leave. I called back this morning and spoke to a nice guy named David. Who heard me out and then said he needed to speak to his managers. When he came back in the line he said sorry but we can't honor this price reduction because they only give you 7 days from order date to resolve these things. Not when it's delivered which took me out of the ability to ask for a reduction. While I appreciate rules, I don't appreciate the lack of looking into my situation and flatly denying a reduction. Any kind of reduction would have made me happy. This lack of care and concern for customers leads me to not only not recommend this brand (and keep in mind the product is awesome) because customer care is non-existent! You would think that a company advertising that they have sold over 500,000 bikes would be willing to cut someone a break. read more

This review focuses mainly on online process and experiences I recently went through. I would have tried to purchase this item in one of their retail stores/pop-up, but I had read reviews of customers of being ignored so instead ordered a replacement battery online and followed the protocol and planned that the delivery would arrive according to FedEx specified date. Took some time off from work as it required a digital signature. Unfortunately it was never delivered as specified and the status was changed to "Pending". Spoke to customer service and they were not able to escalate or communicate with FedEx. They asked me to contact FedEx myself which makes me feel like they're pawning off the issue to them. Giving the benefit that this may be a one off experience this is the 2nd time! Get it together Rad and own up to it from start of purchase to post sale follow-up ensuring everything is satisfied. Perhaps reevaluate who should be delivering your "Rad" products. No more excuses! read more

This is for anyone who lives is North County... everywhere you look, kids are on their Rad bikes, which is great for parents because less carpooling and gas with these prices... on the negative, kids aren't really following rules of the road or wearing helmets.. That being said, for the MOST part, my 15yo LOVES his RAD, EXCEPT!!!! EXCEPT for the CONSTANT flat tires. Good note, he's become an expert at changing and fixing flats... bad note, the constant cost of buying new tubes or patches... What worse is that we just drove to IB to get the bike serviced and new tire and within 3 days, he was flat again... called RAD they said bring it down and we'll take a look... yeah, no, sorry... busy mom... I don't have time to just trot to IB from Oside. They responded that they understood and just bring it down when we could. I asked when they would be opening a service department in North County and was told within the next two years. So if you're not handy and don't feel like driving 2 hours one way to get your bike serviced, I would not recommend RAD and would look at Pedigo or other ebikes from Alan's that are in NC and can service your ebike better. So other than the distance to servicing and the constant flat tires, my kid loves his bike and I love saving the gas. read more

I walked in with the express intent to buy a bike on a recommendation from a family member, after I test rode my cousins bike he bought here, I was sold. With about a dozen employees standing around bs'ing with one another I walked around looking at bikes, attempting to make eye contact with staff but was full on ignored. Tested out several models before buying for the family. It is well run, sign waiver, borrow a sanitized helmet and point. The test ride staff provides good instructions, and off to the silver strand. We purchased two bikes and I have to agree of poor reviews of the customer service during the purchase and not getting very much help. But my poor review is a result of a tuneup and repair. My bike's throttle and pedal assist stopped working after only 83 miles. I took both bikes in for that repair and for the first tuneups on both. After a few days they called me to tell me both bikes were ready and they did not find any issue with the throttle/pedal assist. We drove there to pick up the bikes and had plans to ride them to Coronado for an event. Well upon getting to the store and getting the bikes, mine still did not work. The technician looked at the paperwork and saw that they had mixed up the bikes and thought my wife's bike was the one with the issue. Of course it was not going to be fixed that afternoon so we left the bikes and it ruined our plans. Fast forward several more days and they identified the issue as a bad controller on my bike and replaced. Now I understand mistakes happen and I am not so upset at that but what I really have an issue with is the fact they supposedly completed tuneups which they claim to make sure the bikes are in good working order, etc. Well obviously this was not the case since my bike never worked even after the "tuneup". I will unfortunately have to look at another repair service in the future as they cannot be trusted to actually perform the work. The only reason I gave 2 stars is the fact they did not charge me for the repair since my bike was out of warranty by a week. Still, though very disappointing service especially for the price we paid for our bikes. read more
