Pepper shrimp fried rice with chicken on top
    Ann R.

Ordered take out from Radica's over the weekend. We ordered the pepper shrimp fried rice topped with chicken and the chicken curry with dhal puri. The curry was watery oily soup and the flavour wasn't great. The roti itself was fresh and fluffy and great. The fried rice was a disappointment. The chicken was great and so was the pepper shrimp. The rice itself was so soft and mushy and he flavour wasn't the greatest when compared to other West Indian fried rice. It was just disappointing.

Recommendation Normally when have had a great experience, I will recommend the business to my friends to try out. Radica Hot & Spicy, Queen St @ Rutherford Rd, in Brampton Ontario; is usually a place I would be happy to recommend. But not today, nor the foreseeable future. You see it does not matter how good your product or service, how attractive the price; integrity in doing business ranks high with me. Hopefully with you also. Every business has a competitor willing to provide better service or product. Today Radica Hot & Spicy disappointed. I bought a Hot & Sour Soup, simple. The cash register showed a different price from what was advertised on the board on the wall AND on their website. The cashier failed to honour the advertised price. Add to this, some attitude driven guy came out, the manager (heavy set black man with braids tied high), and he just fluffed me off. Rude, obnoxious, uncaring, crude; are among other names I can refer to these people. They just don't get it. Its called Customer Service; and today it was lacking not just the failure in providing customer service, but the blatant "False Advertising" of a business that should know better. Between the Cashier and the "Manager" they should be given a stern talking to, a coaching or be fired. Sorry Radica Hot & Spicy. You failed today. Michael Robinson

I've droven by this place a million times and always wanted to try this place...glad I did. I ordered Saheena, Phulowrie, Aloo Pie and Doubles. Saheena is a type of a spinach fritter and it was one of the dish that was AMAZING. The test of the order was good but Doubles and Saheena are the best items.

Really good food, authentic Trinidad vibes. Food, music and staff are on point. Elegant atmosphere, with a friendly bar.

Three time I have requested that my food be packaged with sauce separate. And they completely ignored my requests.
    Marisa M.

They do not follow instructions at all. I requested that my rice be separated from my sauce. I also advised that they charge extra for the additional packaging necessary because packaging isn't free. Tonight for the third time in a row they completely ignored my request and simply dumped the shrimp and hot sauce all over my food. I will not trust any business who habitually does not follow the customer's requests in any manner. I have lost trust in this establishment. Separate means to separate, instructions are important to customers.

Excited to get me some Doubles!

Trinidad for was outstanding. Yes, I had Double, so why no picture because it was so good that I ate it before thinking. Great looking interior with TVs a full bar and lots of good music playing. The staff was friendly and laid back. Yes, it is recommended.

Spent $50.00: Ordered the Jerk chicken with medium spice, the chicken is good and there's a perfect amount of kick but it's slightly too wet. The rice and peas tasted good but the texture was too wet/mushy and not a fan of the coleslaw. Boneless chicken with dahlpuri was a 7/10 since it was quite dry, which this one was a little wet. Doubles were great though!

I have been coming here for the past couple of years to satisfy my Roti and Doubles cravings while I'm at work. I'm not sure if I'm coming because of the proximity or because of the quality of the food. The store is located near the side back of a plaza, right beside another Caribbean restaurant. The place is big enough to accommodate roughly 20 people if you want to eat there but takeout is their main business. You order on the right side, by the cash register and your order comes out on the left. We came on a Thursday afternoon and the place was packed. The drawback of eating there, it's that the place becomes really tight when you have people ordering and waiting for their food, hovering near your table. I'm not extremely familiar with West Indian cuisine but I have come enough times here to know that the quality of their Roti and Doubles is decent but inconsistent. Sometimes though there's too much dough on the wrap, and not enough filling or meats. As you can see from the picture, their large size is as described. The level of hotness can vary even for a mild to the spicy side. Also, service for the most part can be slow. I ordered the Large Boneless Goat Roti and was good. Recommended to at least give them a try and taste it for yourself.

Was in the neighbourhood and wanted a light lunch. Instead of going to Tims near it we went in at Radica's. The restaurant is some tables and is fairly clean and staff making efforts to keep it. The ordering was simple as we ordered a large Aloo Channa Roti to be shared between the two of us. We ordered mild and a side of spicy sauce for me. The Roti arrived and size is LARGE. Enough if you are super hungry. The Roti soft and stuffed daal. The fillings of Channa (Chickpeas) was packed. Very little Aloo (potatoes) though. The spiciness a bit for her but when I added the extra sauce, it tasted amazing. Even without the sauce, it had great flavour. To eat is a bit messy, but nevertheless leaving you to want to eat more!!! Hopefully we are in the neighbourhood soon.

Decent roti and nice and hot. My only complaint is the 30 mins I waited for take out. Roti should never take that long.

Their curry goat rotis were over priced and didn't have nearly enough sauce on them. They were very dry and not very well seasoned at all.

There are different locations throughout the GTA, serving the exact same menu and concept. Service is fast and efficient. You order on your phone by scanning the QR code on the table. Food comes out within ~5 minutes - very fast! The menu is quite extensive. They have a wide variety of teppanyaki rice sets available, as well as noodles, mini hot pot (including individual servings), and various drinks and Asian desserts. I love that you can customize each dish by adding the add-ons (additional ingredients). You can even "build your own teppanyaki set" by choosing the carbs, sauce, protein(s), and add-ons (including vegetables). We only tried the teppanyaki rice sets this time around. The Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables consisted of cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, and corn. This was listed under "snacks" category, and we thought it would be a good veggie dish accompaniment to the other main dishes. I found it to be very salty and saucy. It had an aftertaste that I didn't really like. The pieces of green pepper, zucchini, and mushrooms were very small, that you could barely taste them. It was mostly white cabbage shreds and corn. The 3 teppanyaki rice sets (including one deluxe set) were good. The Jumbo Unagi Teppanyaki Rice was one of my favourites - the unagi there was "jumbo" indeed (biggest and longest I had ever seen that was served with a rice set in a restaurant). I liked that it wasn't doused with too much unagi sauce wich tends to be sweet and sticky. There was a good amount of meat in the unagi as well. Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set and Seafood Rice Set (salmon, scallops, shrimps) were also decent. The Seafood Rice Set (considered a deluxe menu item) had a bigger and better salmon compared to the thin salmon slices in the Salmon & Shrimps Teppanyaki Rice Set. The shrimps and scallops were pretty good (there were more shrimps than scallops). All dishes came with corn and green onion, and you can choose to add extra add-ons such as cabbage, green pepper, zucchini, mushrooms, garlic bits, extra protein, etc. As garlic lovers, we added extra garlic bits to every teppanyaki set that we ordered. Overall, good food and fast service. I wish the Sizzling Japanese-Style Assorted Vegetables dish wasn't so salty, and came with more / bigger pieces of the actual vegetables rather than just mostly corn. But the other teppanyaki rice sets were good value.

The dumplings came with a salad that was basically just cabbage, so crunchy, no taste, no dressing, at all, like squeeze some juice/dressing of any kind, so no attention to detail here, at all, the chili chicken was great though, just wish I didn't three orders for a satisfying lunch, literally 3 x $5 was necessary for one person, so, good luck,
