a plate of food on a table

Recommended dining Appetizer: calamari tastes pretty good. Pasta is well cooked. Seafoods are fresh. Dishes portion: Good portion Waiter service was excellent

We had our company Christmas party this week. We had pre booked several weeks in advance and requested a private room with a prix fix menu for 18 people. When we arrived, the table was not ready... no issue as I was there 10 minutes early to ensure all was ready for our team. When taken to the table it was two separate tables in the main dining room. This was not the separate dining room that we had requested and was confirmed with our deposit. I indicated that was not going to work. The group in the private area was getting ready to check out so they said if we waited, they would set that area up. No apologies and actually felt very much like an inconvenience. Our group of 18 crowded in the entrance until our tables were ready. To be fair, the food was good, but the service was not what was expected. I refilled the wine for our group and cutlery had to be requested and waited for. We had people go to the front to ask for it and by dessert, gave up on forks and just used the spoons that were on the table. No refills on coffee or water. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The issue we had a hard time getting past was the cockroach on the wall by the table. I called the young girl folding napkins on a table in our room ?? and she caught it in the napkin... no idea where it went from there. (or if the napkin was folded for the next guest which we suspect)[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When our server came back with the bill the second time after adjusting for the deposit that we paid in advance, we asked him if he was aware of the cockroach. He said he would look into it...... No sorry, no acknowledgement of the issue. He actually said, "I hope no one brought it into the restaurant in their purse." WOW [[HIGHLIGHT]]I have never written a review like this and in fact we had a similar issue with a dirty wine glass (Red wine residue in bottom of a glass of white wine) and a bug at this restaurant during COVID.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] As it had been a restaurant we had enjoyed in the past, we wrote only a note to management and not a public review as we didn't want to cause more issues to a small business already struggling during COVID. We had no response and did not plan to go back. We totally regret that we did go back, and this was definitely the last time. We do Christmas dinners for our team every year for the past 20+ years, this was the most disappointing experience by far.

Sadly disappointing. Everything about our experience was average. My favorite part of the meal was the delicious balsamic vinegrette that dressed the greens. Calamari batter was crispy but overly seasoned(way too much salt). Dining room was nice and bustling with young and mature patrons. Staff were friendly and clearly doing their best but the rushed undertone a shame. First and last for us, unfortunately.

The place calls itself a authentic Italian restaurant and I decided to pick up food from here. The Egg plant Parmesan was completely raw and we had to throw away the entire dish. The charges at this place are very high and the food quality is no where near. I wouldn't go here again and would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

My first visit after being recomended by a lot of friends, very welcoming staff, cozy place, we chose to sit in the outside patio although it was a little bit windy but all went just OK. Food was more than great, tastes like home, even portions were very reasonable, prices are very good compared to the portion itself. Will come again for sure.

Salad special on a Sunday. Baby arugula, goat cheese, pear, walnuts and balsamic. DELICIOUS!!!!!!

Everything about this place was excellent. All of our dishes were delicious and full of flavour. I'm not usually a pasta person but it was all incredible. Bruschetta and fried calamari are worth doing for appetizers. The pasta dishes were great. Our chicken and shrimp linguini came with a decent amount of meat. Not just majority pasta. Take a good look at the specials on the chalk board. Our waiter didn't make note of them but they were unique options compared to what was on the menu. You can see the kitchen as you walk in which is nice to see they are not hiding anything. Staff was really attentive to our progress but we never felt pressured or rushed. Waiters didn't chat much, which could be a drawback for some people. But they were neither overly or underly friendly. We didn't mind it, the whole dinner experience was seamless, they were attentive to our needs without being in our faces. If you like Creme brûlée, try theirs. It was the perfect ending to our meal.

Horrible Calamari. Dry, tough, salty and chewy. The worst we've ever had in the 35 years we've dined out. Not up to the standard or quality

I reviewed the Calamari plate as a dry, over seasoned, chewy and processed appetizer that couldn't be fresh. The main courses were better. As a compensation the waiter offered a very nice Italian wine which we both enjoyed.

Great meal today... Brushetta, Mussels, Seafood Luinguine, and half penne a la vodka and Shrimp pasta. My husband was very impressed. Portions were Great, service was spot on. There is a wait for the food... but with great food cooked fresh on order... enjoy your company and food will arrive when it is ready.

She's a nice person. The food was between good & very good. The appetizer was fried calamari ($18.99). In this version there was actually calamari in the order. I found it was WAY too salty & a small order but tasty nonetheless. I also had a Caesar salad ($13.00) small order and not overly tasty. My main was the Rosanna Farfalle ($29.00). This was a very tasty dish but the top portion of the order was just lukewarm and the bottom portion was hot. Meaning the order sat for a bit before coming to the table. Still...a very tasty dish. We finished with a rather small portion of Tiramisu ($12.00). This was billed as very tasty. Having had tiramisu around the world & in Italy...this tiramisu was mediocre. With the food, service & ambiance, this place could easily be a 5 star. They just need to step up the food temp & the portion size & it would be there.

We shared a bottle of the Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile and an app. I appreciate it that we were able to enjoy the company amongst each other and not be bothered or pressured with having to split our attention with the server. This restaurant is a little dated however, the food definitely makes up for the quality. I'd recommend nicer seating because I did get tired 30 minutes in as the chairs weren't as comfortable.

Both positive signs in my book. We started with the fried calamari. It was really crispy and hot. Came out quick too. We ordered a few pastas. The pasta with meat balls was our favourite. The mushroom ravioli was good but started tasting a bit sweet after eating half of it. We also had the sausage pasta and enjoyed that too. Seats about 40 to 50 people so make a reservation on the weekend. Warm tasty pasta with bold comforting flavours, perfect for when you have an Italian food craving. Service is great too. They helped us read the Italian menu. Kept refilling our water and brought out some bread to start the meal. Nice clean washroom too.

Food (3.75/5) - they have a good selection of items on the menu and a couple of specials of the day as well. - Vitello ai Funghi - veal cutlets in a seared assorted mushroom and white wine sauce. It was just ok imo... the veal was a bit chewy and not tender as I was expecting. Sauce is ok bit understated. - Tortellini alla Bolognese - veal filled tortellini in a homemade Bolognese sauce. This was a nice dish with a nice flavourful Bolognese and tortellini cooked properly. - Cozze Marinara - mussels in a marinara sauce with garlic, onion and herbs. Cooked properly and a pretty good broth to dip bread into. - Complimentary bruschetta with a sauteed pepper/onion garnish was provided - not great imo... too dry and lacked flavour. Service (4.5/5) - pretty strong and service-oriented. Seated quickly and well attended multiple times by server and assistant. Atmosphere (4.25/5) - it is quite small with maybe 10 tables total. White tablecloth and wood look... quiet place designed for dates and families. Overall (4/5) - It is a solid Italian restaurant overall. I can see it being popular with locals looking for a quiet dinner spot. I was hoping the food would be more extraordinary however could be the selection of items we had.
