My physician ordered a scan for me, to be pereformed by RIS. This was at the Pablo St. location. I paid my co-pay and tested after a short wait. However, my testing was on 5/19 and today is 5/29 and my phusician has yet to receinve a reading from RIS! I spoke with RIS this date-and was advised it could be a few more weeks before that reading is completed!!!! Its already been 10 days!!! Poor servic and I will do my best to never return to RIS for anything. read more

Can not get anyone to answer phone for appointment. On hold forever, call dropped, finally get someone and after 20 minutes of referral number insurance info etc VERY rigid with appointment times availalble and books out for months. I called back for a second image study and have been hold all morning. NEVER AGAIN this is ridiculous, don't waste your time. read more

It's 7/8/25, still no results back yet from my 6/21/25 study that was done. When I call, I'm told they are behind... it's unacceptable.

I looked at several of the other reviews. I have good insurance with Dr in Tampa as well as Lakeland and Plant City. The negative phone and insurance billing issues are the same from Tower now owned by TGH to smaller Radiology places. Hospitals may cost more, not sure. No excuse for it except very busy with all the people moving to the area. I had MRI done on Wednesday still no report read, first time over 2 days. They have most of my reports so comparison to previous scans is important. The technician in the back and nurses are very professional and treat us with respect. read more

I have a stat ultrasound order. They said they have to schedule the ultrasound and then they can move it up because it's stats. I have been told multiple times that i would get a call back with an update and never received any update. I call them and continuously get transfer with no real help. The call queue is so long and it will tell you what position you are. I was 3rd in line then got sent back to 4th. It happens every time i call!!! I hate that i have to use this place! read more

The absolute worst... extremely poor communication, almost impossible to reach by phone or patient portal. If your insurance will approve another imaging company, that would be your best action. Stay away from RIS read more

Too long of wait times when calling to make an appointment sometimes up to an hour. Dropped calls are common. Just awful.

I have NEVER been to Radiology and Imaging Specialists that there wasn't a problem! I have wasted time, wasted gas, wasted worry with Radiology and Imaging Specialists... I highly suggest you find a different imaging center; Baycare imaging is GREAT!!! I will NEVER use Radiology and Imaging Specialists again! read more

Already not looking forward to using this facility. Took a month of waiting for an ultrasound for my 7 month old, for the exam to fall on the day of the hurricane and got cancelled. Called back to reschedule the next day and have to wait yet another month to be seen. Normally I'm a fairly patient person, but to have to wait at the "back of the line" for an infant, for a reschedule that is completely out of my hands, is not sitting well with me. read more

I don't normally give a review but in this case I will. RIS was awesome from the time of check in to the end of my MRI. Payton and Debbie are caring and professional. I can't say enough good praise for them. Actually all the staff were great and even though I was early for my appt the wait time wasn't bad. I would recommend RIS for any imaging a person needs done. I was scheduled a week ago for an MRI and had received prior approval from my Medicare Advantage program. I received appointment reminders and prepared by not eating prior to the appointment. When I arrived at the Central RIS facility for my appointment this week, the woman at the desk couldn't find my name. Then she said my appointment was "red-flagged" and cancelled. I talked to another woman at the business office and she said the coding on the order was incorrect. Why didn't they look at the coding prior to scheduling my appointment and ask my Doctor for a corrected order ahead of time? Why did I get appointment reminders up to the day before, and then have it cancelled? This is a very inefficient way of running things. read more

This is the most unethical and unprofessional business I have ever stepped into in my life. There main focus is that your insurance will cover the costs and to collect the copay prior to services rendered. Office staff isn't even trained properly enough so that they can process a credit card properly. Which at that point after waiting for an hour with my number in hand to be told after payment was received of course that they couldn't tell me what time of day my 8:20 am appointment would be and expected me to wait patiently in there over packed waiting room to be called as if I didn't have a life. After I canceled and left the glamorous establishment they even call to tell me I missed an appointment and would I like to reschedule! Unreal run fast from this organization even if you have to travel I would certainly do it. read more

So far not very good...scheduling dept. said I could get my xray done when I go in for my MRI..my appt was on a Saturday..and of course they do not do xrays on Saturdays..so now I have to go back on another day and get my xray. Also I asked for a cd of my exam which they gave me...low and behold there is nothing on the cd....these issues need to be addressed...will definitely not use them again. read more

My doctor sent in a prescription for an MRI of my shoulder 10 days ago. At the time I was told they would call me to schedule the appointment. Five days ago, not having heard from them, I started calling and every time I called I heard a recording that it was a 25 or 30 minute wait. Twice I left my number because it said I would get a call back. Still haven't heard from them. I know my pain is my problem but this is highly unprofessional. read more

I had a rocky start with an appointment changed to the wrong day and also the scheduling office giving me the wrong physical address. When I found the Woman's Imaging Center , at 2120 Lakeland Hills Blvd, not 1305, my experience was wonderful. From the receptionist, to the woman who took me back to change, to the tech who performed the procedure, they were friendly, warm and competent. I was taken at my appointment time and finished with no delays. I recommend them to anyone and will return for future services. read more

I give RIS a 1 star because I can't go any lower. I went last January because I injured my hand. It was three times the normal size. They took an X-Ray and said my hand wasn't broken. I walked around for one month that way until I couldn't stand the pain anymore. I went to LRMC, and they saw the break from the original X-Ray. It was broken but now I had a trigger finger because it had healed wrong. To add salt to the wound I now have collection agency after me and I have Medicare and private insurance!! Unfortunately this office did not take my insurance for the procedure I had and therefor had to pay for it out of pocket but then tried to bill me more 6 months later. I made numerous calls and was always told to call back in 15 days to see if the situation was rectified. In that time they tried to bill my insurance company (that they said they didn't take on the day of my procedure) and tried to get them to pay. I received an explanation of benefits letter saying it was denied due to it not being filed in the proper time frame. Finally after more than a year they cleared my account but not before they had completely destroying my credit score for turning my so called debt to a collection agency. BAAAD BUSINESS!!! read more

Radiology & Imaging Specialists of Lakeland sent a bill for services rendered to an address where I did not live. They proceeded to file a collection on the small amount, which I did not find out about until I was applying for a home loan. I had perfect credit until RIS submitted my bill to collections. Then when I requested that they contact the collections agency to have the collection deleted so that my credit score could be reconciled appropriately, they said that they could not and that it was my issue to handle. RIS, a lab for xrays and imaging, used to have a good reputation for efficiency, top equipment and class, competitive with the bigger clinic labs in Lakeland. My last 3 experiences have been horrible and I will not go back. On a test that involved consumming a large amount of water and "holding it", they missed my appointment time by TWO hours and required multiple concerns expressed before they corrected. Another time, they left me unattended in a CT scan when help was needed. This last time, I stopped in to ask a simple clerical procedure question. They refused to respond, had me sign in and STILL had not gotten to my name 20 minutes later. The place was a zoo-chaotic. There were only two receptionists. I'd first fire them for incompetence/lack of people skills, but then I'd look at the owners who must be shaving their help to increase their profit. Three brand new TVs mounted on the walls would be unnecessary if they took care of people in a timely fashion. Shameful. read more
