My wife and I spent 14 days at this hotel while on a business. It was first trip to Australia.
Location was very good as we used only public transport and cabs. Walks to train station (10 minutes) and ferry (10 minutes) made it great for getting around. Waited no more than 10 minutes for a cab on any work morning. Monorail station is also close but is scheduled to close this summer. At night we didn't like staying out late though nor walking to the hotel through surrounding city streets. No worries before dark but after dark just felt odd. Also, there is no view from the rooms on west side.
Food (breakfast menu is all we tried) was very good. Tried several different options and were all well made.
Staff was excellent especially the room service team and was housekeeping. Front desk had a few that were great.
Room was like a small one bedroom apartment. Bed was very comfortable and linens were nice and heavy. Couches and carpet seemed older. Kitchen had all you need... Small refrigerator, toaster, dishes, cups, utensils, microwave, electric teapot, coffee press, sink, stove. Bathroom was very nice and well stocked.
Value is tough to assess. Being first time in Australia didn't know to compare so will let you decide. ~$250/night.
Best part-proximity to Darling Harbor
Worst part-street noise from late-nighters
