I frequently come to the Freehold area for work, and I stay at the Radisson quite a few times. The front desk people are very friendly and there's free parking. The rooms are nice but could be updated a bit. Wish there were microwaves in the rooms. There's also a Restaurant that closes late at night around 10 o'clock. I've enjoyed my stays here!

Dirty fixture with 4 out of 5 bulbs burnt out

Deplorable conditions. Dirty room, a shower that backed up filthy water, dirty overhead lighting fixture with only 1 bulb out of 5 lit, broken furniture and stained carpets and this was the Bridal Suite!

Where do I start? I booked and got a confirmation email with my credit card info. Got there and they wanted an $200 plus a $100 deposit for the room. My mistake was to assume I was charged but when you enter your credit card info and get a confirmation email with a summary of charges, it's kinda hard not to assume you've been charged. The front desk girl was sooooo nice. I have nothing negative to say about her. I had lunch at their restaurant. No one was there. The server lady was super nice as well. I asked for a beer and was told that the bar tender wouldn't get there until 5pm. Chicken tenders and fries were good. Now, checking into my room. Walking to the elevator, the floors were sticky, every I was in room 301. Not sure if this was just THAT room but I can't imagine all the other rooms look any better. See pictures below and you be the judge. Would I have paid $200? Fk no! Motel 6 has better rooms this. They claim to be a four-star restaurant. Is this even close to a 3-star? I would not recommend this place. I feel catfished.

High beds not suitable for toddlers

Not toddler friendly I'm sure this place is fine for business travelers. But for those with young kids, as with us and our 3 year old, be warned. The sleeping options is either a crib or a dangerously high bed. So if your kid hasn't quite yet mastered the art of not falling off a bed while sleeping, avoid this place. When we presented our concern to the staff they gave us two extra blankets and two extra pillows to put on the floor. There were no cots, no pullout beds, no extra suitcase table to put next to the bed, available. The restaurant is closed on M and T ( as is room service for food). The usual overpriced convenience store carries cereal, but no milk. Think about that. The air conditioning unit was either super cold or off. We set at 75 and low fan but I swear the temp in here was 65. So we ended up turning the unit off and on every hour or so, so our kid wouldn't swe then catch cold. I'd avoid this place if you're traveling with toddlers.

Hotel was extremely rude they canceled on us 10mins before check in time and sent this message. Reservation was placed 4 days in advance

Horrible customer service! Warning to all potential customers! They called me 10 mins before checkin time to let me know that they are booked. I placed my reservation 4 days in advance before arriving! Front desk hang up on me!!! I am attaching the message they sent after hanging up the phone! Horrible devastating experience i had to make my kids and family suffer and look for another place!!!!!

Since we had parked right next to The Standard, we chose to give it a try for lunch--and it was the best decision we've made in a long time. The hotel was beautifully decorated for Christmas, creating such a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The restaurant itself was just as lovely. We were a party of five, including a 14-month-old baby, and our waitress could not have been more accommodating. Another great convenience is that the hotel also has parking available in the back. I only wish I had taken photos! We started with appetizers--crispy calamari, mussels, and chicken wing lollipops. For our entrées, we ordered the French Dip sandwich, the Carnegie Reuben, and two Standard burgers. We also asked for a kids' pasta. Expecting the usual penne, we were surprised when angel-hair pasta arrived. Our little girl had never tried it before, so we requested a substitution. Although our waitress explained that angel hair was the only pasta they typically have, she returned moments later to let us know the chef was going to get penne just for us. That level of service truly stood out. The food was amazing, and the service was exceptional. We enjoyed our visit so much that we are even considering hosting a family wedding and a baptism here. Highly recommend The Standard American Hotel!

Unfortunately, he had a mess up where he told us something was gluten-free and when we double checked with someone else, we found out that it was not. Thankfully, the other man who was working at the bar advised us and told us that the kitchen would make the meal Gluten-free for us, which was awesome. We really liked it. Also got a wedge salad with steak which was really good. I'm so glad we clarified things because it could've been a real health issue if we didn't. I think the server needs to be l educated on the severity of allergies and to ask instead of assuming if he isn't sure. We also ordered an apple pie and asked for iced cream on the side and it came out on top. There was also so much liquid floating around in the dessert. We didn't even ask to send it back because it was already a tense interaction with him as he just seemed annoyed our entire time there. Barely ate the dessert and when I had mentioned to him that we asked for the ice cream on the side I don't think he understood and asked if I wanted a box to take it home but I just said no. I just barely ate it and took it as a $14 loss. We were going to get one more drink because we were enjoying being outside even though the service wasn't that great, but the server ended up l bringing us the check, which we hadn't asked for yet so we took it as a sign to just go. I think we just got stuck with someone who did not like his job and was unhappy he was there and unfortunately it did taint our experience. Would potentially go back if we notice someone else working outside.

To start, this review is 2 years late as we stayed there in May of 2024 for a show we attended in Red Bank. Property was used as a state funded shelter to house homeless / welfare recipients. I can't confirm or deny this is still happening in 2026. We checked in, exhausted from our 6 hour drive. At first glance, we were impressed with the hotel's charming decor and couldn't wait to crash. The first impression quickly faded as we headed to our room to the sounds of screams and N bombs billowing through the halls. Great, this was our neighbor. Walked into the room and couldn't even hold a conversation with my wife as the obnoxious voice in the next room was overbearing. Hadn't even been in the hotel 5 minutes and I'm already back at the front desk requesting we be assigned another room. The front desk clerk advised the property was full but assured us she'd speak to our neighbor and tell her to pipe down. Apparently she knew her personally. Did that work? Yes....for exactly 10 minutes. Then it was back to screams, n words and "yo yo yo yo m-fer this m-fer that." Could've sworn Cardi B was in the next room. Demanded our reservation cancel at this point with a full refund. Front desk lady told us she would boot the woman from the property. This is where it gets spicy. Front desk lady and woman are now involved in a full-scale verbal shoot out in the hallway. The clerk then summoned another staff member for assistance. Apparently, they didn't get along and were bickering back and forth in the midst of trying to evict this woman from the hotel. Doesn't get more professional than that. Police were called and finally after a 2-hour song and dance the woman vacated the premises. The police seem to be regular visitors there, the staff highlighted their frequent pop ins. Spoke to the Manager the next day, who seemed empathetic to our experience. We were promised a refund for the eventful night. When we returned home, I emailed him to touch base about it, never to hear back from him again. Moral of the story? Don't let eloquent settings fool you from the ratchet bowels that lie within the walls.

First of all, right on Rt. 34 S, not far off the GSP, and plenty of options for dining in the area. "Continental breakfast" was breads, bagels, a few cereals, Activia yogurt, bananas, coffee and tea, OJ. We were happy to have Cheerios, an unsweetened choice. There were a microwave, a mini fridge, and a TV in the room. The shower in the room was good. I found the bed and pillows mildly uncomfortable but it was just the one night and fine. Our room was right around the corner from the reception desk, and right across the hall from the laundry room, with windows open to the parking lot, but aside from 1 very loud conversation in the hallway right after we went to bed, it was quiet enough. The ambiance of the hotel is cute, reminiscent of an older era, nicely decorated. Of course Colt's Neck was (maybe still is) known for horses, hence the name. For me, the highlight was actually the next morning after we checked out - it's barely a half mile from the Central NJ famed Delicious Orchards. We drove back to NYC with more than 5 lbs of fresh autumn apples, a fantastic apple turnover, and a pkg of apple cider donuts!

But my god, it is splinter hell. Us, along with 3 other families that we knew of, were realizing at the pool that us and our kid's feet were completely full of splinters. We spent a total of about 3 hours at the pool over 2 days and my four year old had over 50 splinters in each foot! I had about 10 and spouse a few less. My four year old will not even let me look at his foot, nevertheless remove the splinters - yeah right. I think we are going to need to get sedated. This has ruined the stay to be honest. The hotel also didn't have tweezers. At least two families complained and nothing seemed to be done about it. The deck is extremely dry. This wouldn't be a hard problem to solve. ICE. I requested ice about 20 different ways, because there is no ice machine so they say just request it: - through the app on their tablet (3x, nothing) - through calling the front desk (2x, nothing) - in person at the front desk (2x, nothing) - through text to the front desk (4x, nothing) - in person to the person that came to the room one night (2x, 1x worked!) I got ice once, woohoooooo! The tablet is a joke. I needed an extra bedsheet and requested it through the tablet and it never came. In person at the front desk it did, however. Beautiful hotel, but the splinters ruined it. You could not pay ME to stay somewhere that my autistic kid gets 100 splinters in his feet. The hotel is feeling a bit neglected in some ways. Our "terrace" had algae on the deck area, one couch cushion had a big brown spot and there was half of a DEAD BIRD on our terrace. It was there the whole time. Of course my 4 year old was enthralled.Yay.
