JOSHUA took care of us said check in and really gives such great service and kindness. I really enjoyed our room. It gave more opportunity to see the sweet view of the pool and the river on the way to my hallway. It really is a special place. For dining I had to eat at the hotel restaurant and be cared for by Patrick and Eileen. Fabled service. It's like a dream and a beautiful old musical. Just lighthearted ease and care for the guests and the lovely camaraderie too. It is a special place. I sleep so well when I'm here. I enjoy my bed and the blankets and I had six pillows on my bed. All perfectly fluffy. I feel like I'm sleeping on a cloud. I sleep well in my dreams are the best. Restful. Blissful. Again the views of the river are so beautiful in the clouds also. The outdoor water views were great, service friendly and the tables outdoors are metal outdoor to complement the summer time outdoor dining vibe. I ordered a risotto to go too!!! My boyfriend's brother just got married here and they did an exceptional job with the reception. There is a very large outdoor balcony overlooking the water. It made for some gorgeous pictures and provided plenty of room for guests. Unfortunately, however, while our wedding party were taking pictures, there was a whole separate wedding CEREMONY taking place on the other side, causing a much irritating crossover of sound. I feel bad for the bride walking down the aisle to our party's noise while we are celebrating our own couple's day. This seems like a major oversight on the establishment. The inside is gorgeous, including a small bar of maybe 10 barstools and maybe 10 more tables for people to sit at. Bartenders were wonderful. There is a champagne vinaigrette that I ordered with my salad and wanted to douse everything in. About 8pm my boyfriend and I decided we were going to spend the night at Molly Pitcher with the rest of the crew, so I asked for prices at the front desk. I was told $265 for the room plus taxes and fees. Beware the occupancy fees! I ended up paying $303. (See picture) A $50 hold was placed for incidentals that dropped off. The room on the 4th floor could be accessed by an elevator that went to the THIRD floor, plus a small 8ish step staircase up to the 4th. If you do not like stairs, do not stay on the 4th. It was VERY quiet through the night, which I appreciated, and had a view of the water. (See picture.) You can tell the room is old, adorned with a 1920s crystal styled doorknob and painted over 50 times trim. I personally loved the aesthetic. The shower was warm and comforting for my hangover. The sink was tiny but there is a shelf for your things, ladies. The room is TINY, truly only fits the queen bed, a dresser, and nothing else. It looked like there was a closet but we never opened it. The room stayed super cold (we love that,) so I can definitely confirm the AC works. The bride and groom stayed in the penthouse, complete with what looked like 3 (I think it was 3) LARGE bedrooms, dining room, kitchen, living room, and very large balcony overlooking the water. There looked to be bathrooms attached to each bedroom, plus an additional one in the foyer. An absolutely gorgeous place, that makes you feel as if you are living rich in the city. The rooms are available only by staircase, fyi. Overall a successful night and a successful stay. I will look into this place again for a staycation. Just beware of the occupancy fees! read more

This is a hotel located walking distance from the Red Bank train station, which was very convenient for travel. It's in a lovely location right on the water and has a restaurant with good food. They also offer room service which is convenient. The downsides is there is very little noise isolation, and since they host events like weddings the sound will travel. Additionally, I found housekeeping to be very inconsiderate of noise levels, talking loudly in the hall in the morning. The bathroom was also very cramped and the water pressure was abysmal. It was good for a one night stay but would not have been comfortable for longer. read more

Disappointed. Been going to the Molly for 25 years. Had many occasion celebrated here.,I also got married and my guest stayed there. Last night had dinner there with a party of six. I have to say it was the worst food. Fried green tomatoes and zucchini blossoms that had nothing to do with fried green tomatoes and zucchini blossoms. They were so bad I couldn't even eat my meal. Stick to traditions it is what we expect from the Molly. A pile of sauce with crabmeat on top of the tomatoes- I could even taste the tomatoes. Horrible! A must-see in Red Bank! It's a beautiful venue for special occasions or just a meal. They have pool passes for non-guests if you want to visit for the day. The location is excellent! just steps from downtown. The staff was incredibly friendly, professional, and accommodating. The pool and deck area are fantastic, definitely a highlight of the stay. A few downsides: The pool loungers are uncomfortable and dig into your back. The rooms are tiny, and the closet is placed awkwardly, making it hard to access. The toilet is positioned so close to the wall that it could be uncomfortable for a larger person. There was no mini fridge, which was disappointing since I had water and juice I wanted to keep cold. The food was good, but very overpriced. Overall, I'd stay again because of the great service, location, and pool area--but I probably couldn't do more than two nights in such a cramped room. read more

We stayed September 14th in #302 and checked out the 15th, primarily for the USATF 12km Masters Championships in Sandy Hook about 20 mins drive from the hotel. Due to high season, and a lot going on this particular weekend, hotels tend to be priced pretty high too - at $370 a night that's a lot. This Hotel is named after Molly Pitcher, which is a name given a woman who served in the revolutionary war. On the wall are gold framed oil on canvas paintings of various nameless (no names beneath the frames) figures during revolutionary war. It has a very fancy feeling. And the old Victorian charm is ever present. When we arrived, wedding guests were being ushered into and out of the horseshoe driveway. The room we stayed in had two full size beds and the AC was turned cold, but I was able to adjust the temperature without issue, and the shower also seemed to work (another reviewer indicated a bad experience with the showers). The amenities of the hotel include a pool overlooking the river and adjoining private sailing marina. At check-in, we asked for a late check out of 12:30pm so we could return to shower after our race, and although our attendant forgot to register that, when we returned to our room our keys no longer worked, but room service was able to let us into our room; so no issue, but slightly annoying. The free morning muffin and coffee self service in the lobby was excellent. Although we didn't eat any of the muffins, we had some of the coffee in Togo cups provided. The coffee was rich dark and smokey delicious. The hotel is located to many good eateries in historic Red Bank, NJ. We went across the street to an Italian restaurant which was phenomenal. This is my second trip / year in a row coming to NJ for this race in Sandy Hook. I would definitely come back to Molly Pitcher which I think would be fun for the fam and kid, but I'll try to plan ahead next year to book earlier and hopefully get a better deal, as it is quite pricey this time of year, and evidently some of the rooms are having issues according to earlier reviews. I tend also to avoid hotel dining, as a general rule. read more

The portrayal of the new server, Kara, is completely unfair. Anyone with an ounce of empathy could see that the server was brand new and doing their absolute best. Kara has served me about twice now , and I can tell you she is a very kind and attentive person who has been trying their absolute best as a new server . Was in for lunch with 5 people. The service was inadequate due to insufficient staffing for the number of people there. We were seated at a round table that the leaf was broken and table was slanted, causing the silverware to slide off the table repeatedly. Food was not edible. The club sandwich bread was that of a crouton... hard as a rock. The quiche was cold as well as the cappuccino. Only one person at the table didn't complain and that was the scallops. Overall flop! I had the Peanut Butter and jelly French toast. It was so good and wasn't too sweet. The fresh fruit was good and balanced out the meal. The service was friendly and attentive. On 26 May 2026, I was forced to cancel my reservation for the night of the 27th due to a family emergency. A refund of approximately $200 was denied by Jeff due to their 48 hour notification policy. Apparently, their policy also includes a lack of compassion and understanding despite the smiles and other diplomatic behavior from behind the front desk. I will certainly explore other accommodations this summer season; those are certainly plentiful. read more

I would not recommend the actual restaurant portion though, as it is separate from the wedding venue and does not really compare. The views are great but the food is very overpriced for what you get and we didn't really enjoy anything we got. I have attended a handful of parties over the years at the Molly Pitcher. I have never stayed at the Hotel. The views of the Navesink River are breathtaking. The wedding ceremony was outside on the River, very lovely. The food is fine, cocktail hour was laid out beautifully and hand passed Hors d'oeuvres were very good. The ballroom was decorated nicely. Entrees were fine, nothing earth shattering. Bar service was excellent, great pours top shelf liquor. The table service felt very rushed, the moment you put your fork down a server was looking to clean the plates. All in all it's a nice location for a party. read more

We got the Junior Suite which had a king bed, a couch and spectacular river view. The hotel offers a very nice free coffee bar downstairs in the morning. We stayed July 21st 2023 and offered wedding services and events. The restaurant was also great! I was there on December 13 for a Saturday brunch and ordered Belgian waffles with strawberries. My daughter also ordered Belgian waffles but with blueberries. There were four small waffles loaded with blueberries on top of each one. My waffles were cold and came with a tiny little cup of strawberries. We were in town for a wedding party this past weekend. We had heard wonderful things about the hotel which was recommended by the bride to be's mother. Sadly, our room was not as we hoped for. Upon entering we had one bar of soap (intended to use between the sink and shower). All electrical outlets were faulty but one. Difficult to charge multiple devices with only one working outlet. No blanket in the room. Light fixture in bathroom flickers. Shower floor stained. And... the postage size room is def not suitable for 2 persons. We should have been advised of this when I called to make the reservation. The hotel room needs to be updated badly. The night before we stayed at the sister property Oyster Point. Lovely updated room, spacious and everything worked as it should. The front desk manager was a true professional. read more

A family member was married at The Molly Pitcher last weekend and it was the most amazing wedding we have ever been to. Our guests said the same. The venue was beautiful, staff was so incredibly professional and helpful, the food was absolutely delicious, and all details were given attention. Christian was off the charts incredible, orchestrating everything to perfection and helping everyone with anything they needed, he coordinated the perfect day. Anne was equally amazing, helping the bride, getting us food and drinks, calming down nervous flower girls, etc. No detail was overlooked. Set up and timing was on point. Food was terrific, everyone raved about it. After party was great too. Everything flowed perfectly and there were simply no hiccups, I cannot recommend The Molly enough as a gorgeous venue with the most amazing staff. Everything was total perfection!! read more

NGL, I had high hopes for this place and they didn't match them. The room my partner and I stayed in was small and the bathroom was old and didn't look too clean. I was clearly allergic to something on the bed or in the hotel because the second I got into the bed to sleep, I was itching and sneezing like crazy. Even 2 Benadryl did little for the itching. My partner said they also had some itching but it was not nearly as bad as mine! I'm talking red patches on my legs, scratch marks, and small rashes on my arms. The hotel itself was nice, pool was smaller and not as fancy as expected, but still nice! I wouldn't stay there again because of the rooms. It was not a great night! For the price, I expected better but I should have just stayed at the Hilton or Marriott. Bonus points as the lady who checked my partner and I in was very nice. I would have rated this a 2.5 but since that is not an option, my partner and I decided on a 3. read more

We appreciated the attentive staff; never felt rushed nor were the meals brought out before all prior appetizer/salads were finished. Our server, Robert waited attentively in the dining room. Disclaimer: Rating this on their Easter Brunch only... The environment upon entering the business was pleasing. Our extended family tradition each year is to do an Easter brunch. This year we changed it up. I was extremely disappointed. I can tell the management and overall staff were working their absolute hardest, but there was a missing link. Actually many missing links. Our waitress was very pleasant upon taking our drink orders, but that was the only time we saw her/conversed with her... and that is no exaggeration. Our glasses remained empty for the remainder of our brunch. We attempted to make some kind of contact to no avail as the staff was too busy. Paying that much, it was unfortunate to have such little attention. What was supposed to win us over was the food - especially for what we were paying. The food was horrible. Each dish I had was cold, even while remaining in their sterno trays. As a buffet, how do you let this happen? There were few choices of meats - also cold and extremely dissatisfying as they were dry and chewy, (I think I can still feel myself chewing the lamb). The food as a whole felt like they were serving leftovers on every single aspect. Not even microwaved leftovers at that. The only line that remained full was their extensive selection of desert items.. however that's not what I paid for. I could understand the business was trying, and knowing that, I hate to leave a lower review. I hope the business takes this into consideration because they have a lot of potential. Wonderful location however the hotel just isn't worth the price tag. We came to the Molly pitcher because we attended a wedding that was hosted there. I appreciated that we were able to get early check in and there was free self parking which were 2 huge perks. After that things went downhill. When we arrived in our room we were told it has all the modern amenities however our room was missing a fridge. Apparently some rooms have one and some don't. I am a pumping mom so I called and they said they would have one brought right up which is amazing. Unfortunately it took 2 hours and having to go down and request it again because we had to leave for the wedding before it arrived. The hotel also seemed dated and dirty. The bathroom especially. The shower made a high pitched hissing noise when we showered and our AC actually stopped working so it got super hot in the middle of the night. Along with the air, we were also not able to pull our curtains shut which made for an early morning when the sun was shining in. This was our first trip without our baby and we were looking forward to sleeping in after a late night at the wedding. I informed the front desk of these issues (AC and curtains) and was just told sorry then she brushed it off and confirmed my email address for the receipt. My mom and I went to brunch about a month ago, and we absolutely loved it!! We ordered a 3-cheese charcuterie board which was out of this world!!!! I ordered a crab and asparagus quiche that came with a side salad. Initially, I was afraid it would be predominantly asparagus; however, I was quite pleased with the abundance of chunky crab meat. Not to mention, the outside of the quiche was perfectly buttery and crispy. The quiche also came with a side salad pictured below. I also ordered a cocktail, but don't remember the name of it. That was delicious as well. My mom ordered French toast with fruit. She loved it! We have been looking for an excuse to go back ever since. Neat old hotel with one major weakness. The showers are awful. No pressure or temperature consistency. I was there for a wedding and asked others who were in our group staying there in different rooms and they had the same problem so it wasn't just me. Terrible bedroom in the "new section." Looked and felt like a motel room. It was a poolside room with a porch had a screen with holes in it. The A/C was loud and "thunked" on and off all night. When it thunked on the air blasted super cold. Then it got hot. The beds two beds were full, not queen, which made it too hard for three people. Given that it felt like a shady hotel room, it had fewer accoutrements than one. No coffee maker, no extra blankets, no room to hang towels. Breakfast--was not included, not even a continetal one. We asked to stay in another room, which was the same, albeit the thinking a/c was a wee bit softer. All for the price of $600 a night. We stayed instead of a much cheaper AirBnB because my friends wanted to spring for a more expensive room because they thought it would be more comfortable and we'd sleep better. We will not be staying at the Molly Pitcher Inn again. We have 3 major complaints: I could not pull out the tub handle to start the water flowing, nor could I push in the pin to start the shower. I had to get my husband to help, and it was difficult even for him. Holiday music played loudly in the corridors all night long, so we had difficulty getting to sleep. When I called the front desk about it he said there was nothing he could do about it. I found out the next day that a lady in our party also called to complain about it. The morning we departed, around 10am, there was no valet parking service. My husband had to walk around the snowy freezing (19°) parking lot to find our car, then spend 30 minutes chopping the ice and snow off our car. It had snowed 5" the previous day. Our minor complaints are that the rooms are very small, the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling, the toilet seat was loose, neither the front desk nor the bar could give us change for a dollar (for the tolls), and the wait staff in the bar area is exceedingly slow. read more
