Beware of the extra charges from this company. I purchased a new home and per the inspection, one of the items that the sellers agreed to take care of was to have a radon system installed. Radon Safety LLC quoted the sellers $1398.00 for the installation. I received the check at closing for the work to be completed. When the radon company tech came out, he said it would be an additional $300.00 because he had to hire another company to core a hole in my foundation. He then had to make a call to coordinate with the other company to set up another appt when they were both available. I had to take another day off of work, but they both showed up and the job was completed in about 2 hrs. At the very least, they should have requested what type of foundation the home had before quoting the work. I called the office to tell them they should honor the quote, and I was told by Amanda that the extra cost was "unavoidable". It was ABSOLUTELY AVOIDABLE had they quoted the job accurately! Not happy that I had to pay the added charge out of my pocket when I could have received the entire amount from the sellers. Beware of the extra charges from this company. read more

I received a quote from Radon Safety back in January. At the time, I was not quite ready to book the service, but Holly let me know they would honor the rate quoted when I was ready. Fast forward to September, I called and Holly scheduled me an install for two weeks later. The installer, Alejandro showed up right when I expected him between 8 and 9 AM. He could not have been kinder and asked me where I would like the system set up and let me know it was going to take about four hours to complete the job. Post install, we were left with a radon tester and were told to give them a call if we experienced any issues (such as the system making a loud noise). I followed up with Holly later in the day and settled up my balance and she emailed me the warranty. From start to finish this company delivered... Needing to install a new radon mitigation system in our home, we reached out to three companies for their quotes. Radon Safety was the first to respond and the company with the lowest quote. Holly was my main point of contact. She is fast in her replies, clear spoken in her explanation of the quote, work required and timeline, and generally cheerful on the phone. Within 20 minutes of the work completion, she called me with the final cost (exactly what I was quoted, truly no strings attached) and had the receipt emailed to me only moments later. Alejandro actually did the installation of the radon mitigation system. He was 15 minutes early, very polite and engaging, and worked with me to find the best spot possible to ensure low-visibility outside of the home with the least amount of eye-sore in our finished basement. I think I picked the most complicated spot to install the pipe, but Alejandro said it was no problem and that he would make it work. And he did so very quickly. The work was completed in about 3 hours (we were quoted 3-5). Despite my home being completely empty as we haven't moved in yet, he took off his shoes outside the door every time he had to enter the house. I really appreciated the gesture to help keep our home clean. He really was awesome, so thank you for sending him! I don't like to post negative reviews, but in this case, I thought Radon Safety deserved one. I doubt if all the positive reviews posted on Yelp are legit. After receiving a quote based on my responses online, I sent an email asking for a further explanation of their quote and how it was that they could quote me a price without actually coming out to further clarify my situation. A reply answering my concerns might have been satisfactory, but there was no response, no wanting to set an installation date, nothing, nada. I can only ascertain that a company that can't even take the time to try to get my business, outside of sending a boilerplate iniitial response, would not be very responsive if I needed the follow-up services that it touts and bad-mouths other companies about. read more

Absolutely terrible customer service! I reached out on 3/31/2022 for information and got an email explaining why their prices were so high. I responded with a few questions to "Holly" on the same day and never hear back. On 4/28/2022, I called again and "Holly" claimed she had no emails from that day, then hung up! When I tried calling back, my call was routed to voice mail. Not only is the company's customer service rude and incompetent, their prices are much higher than any of the other radon mitigation services. Needless to say, I DO NOT recommend this company and would never do business with them. By the way, they expect the customer to do all the work on determining square footage, partitions, etc in crawl spaces and they quote based on that. The initial test came back at 7.7. I chose Radon Safety because, being a consultant myself, I could tell from their marketing that they really cared about doing things correctly. And when I asked for other quotes they all came back at the same numbers. Their initial quote ended up being off by a couple hundred dollars because of an unforeseen construction issue that required concrete drilling rather than wood drilling. But that's fine. Afterward, the test came back at 0.3. Which is basically the margin of error in these tests. Less than a week between calling them and the installation being finished. read more

I was very cautious. The weird marketing and putting down other installers was a big red flag to me, but it seems ever one in this business does the same. So I took the leap. The installers are all contractors and that also had me a bit Leary, but it seems they screen them well. Brian spent about a 1/2 hour with me walking around the house, and looking for the best place to install it. I really didn't want it near a window. We went around a few options, then thought about it some more. We didn't want to run it through the garage because the run was too long. But then he realized he could get it out fairly easily if he just put it straight out. I had been thinking on where I wanted it for literally years and hadn't thought of that option. He was done in 3 hours, clean, nice install. 4" PCV. Very happy with it, can't hear the fan or the exit sound inside the house as it's on the side of the garage. Price was competitive, Perfect! Thank you Brian! My only regret is that I hadn't seen this option for the install, because if I had, I would have done it myself. Several weeks ago I wrote a review stating that there had been some miscommunication, but I thought Radon Safety was probably a good company. After a call from the owner clearing things up, I had them do the radon mitigation work. The job turned out great and subsequent tests showed the radon levels at 1.9 and 1.6 respectively, well below the EPA guidance of 4.0. Another huge point for this company was their "no strings" warranty. Another company I was talking to required a radon test every two years by a certified radon tester to keep the lifetime warranty in effect. That would cost about $125 every two years and the results had to be sent to the contractor. Radon Safety had a straightforward lifetime guarantee with no gotcha conditions. We shopped around for a radon mitigation expert and found Radon Safety. The quote was competitive and timely. While the house had not been seen by them before the quote, we were assured that they had done many homes in the area and the quote was solid. Once we gave them the go-ahead, we were scheduled for the next week and the technician Mike was a few minutes early. Mike asked us if we had ideas about where to install this, and he really listened to our concerns and ideas. Mike answered our questions, and offered his expertise on how to not only get the best results, but how to install it in the most aesthetic manner. He took the time to explain how the radon builds up under the foundation, how it is pumped out, and how it does not build up again after the radon pump is functioning. Mike did the work quickly and cleanly, left no mess, and made a change when we realized that the pipe may interfere with a garage door. Nice guy and very professional. We recently purchased a home in west Arvada. During the inspection we learned our radon levels were way too high. We made arrangements with the sellers to deal with the actual work providing they paid for it. Our realtor recommended we use Radon Safety. Holly, who is the one you talk to if you call, is friendly and helpful. Tim, the installer, was fabulous. He was friendly, extremely knowledgeable, very neat, and he loved our pets. Wow! Really, just wow! The installers arrived on-time, completed the work in less time than initially expected and the work was clean. Once it was installed, they walked me through the process, they were not afraid nor did they seem to mind that I was watching them work. In fact, once it was done, they showed me what was done, how to turn on and off the system (if ever needed), and asked me if I had any questions. Both installers were very professional and courteous. No debris was left behind, nothing for me to clean up (including dust) and they even made sure to re-seal the vapor barrier in the basement with white tape so that it was unnoticeable that they had to break it to access the electrical. Even further, the noticed a problem with the sump pump and the dirt that had collected in it (we just bought the house from out of state and I've never lived in a house with a sump pump or even a basement). Instead of just telling me about the problem, they actually cleared out the sump pump area (removed the dirt) to ensure the system would work as expected. Amazing job!! Thank you! read more

So dissapointed with this company, I hired them with weeks in advance to complete a job they cancelled 1/2 hour before the work was supposed to be completed. They don't have enough help to have somone else step in and complete the work. They're very irresponsible I don't recommend them, they were anxious to get me off the phone and take my business elsewhere. Did not deliver! Through our realtors at Coldwell Banker, we got 3 estimates for radon mitigation at our 4000 sf ranch home that had a small 400 sf finished basement. Mike at Radon Safety gave us a $995 quote for radon mitigation, saying they only needed to do the finished room to mitigate. We got 2 additional estimates for approximately $3000 to mitigate the entire crawl space and finished basement. We decided to try Radon Safety. When Radon Safety came to do the work, they said they had underestimated the scope, it would now be $2000 and that they had to do the entire crawl space and finished basement room. They set up another time a few days later to do the project. When they came to do it, they said 'we had estimated the square footage in the crawl space to be 1800, now we see that it is 3800. They gave us a verbal quote of $4000 to complete it. When we said we were not willing to pay that, they pulled off the job. Mike told me, as well our realtor that they could not do it for the 2nd estimated price, leaving us scrambling to schedule another contractor 3 days before closing the sale of our house. Nobody was available at such short notice, we had to make other arrangements with the buyers at closing. Our realtors were the intermediary in this contract with Radon Safety and can provide documentation if needed. read more

Recommended. We hired Radon Safety after comparing prices and reviews of radon companies. They installed a mitigation system which reduced the radon level, but not enough to be safe. They returned to install a larger fan, which reduced the radon level again, but still not enough. They returned to install a second "core" (hole in the foundation to pump contaminated air out), which reduced the radon to a safe level. Throughout the process, they returned phone calls and emails promptly and listened to understand my concerns. There was one communication gap that resulted in the installer not showing up one day, but otherwise they did well, seeing the project through until the radon level was safe. read more

I live in a new construction neighborhood and we had 10 homes on our street that was looking into a radon mitigation system. We just had our install yesterday. Tim was awesome! He called before he showed up and came at the beginning of the time window, was open to any questions, patient and was very professional. I contacted 6 different companies, each referred to me and compared apples to apples. It was a month or so of research! You get what you pay for. Ultimately, I went with my gut and paid slightly more because of their track record, longevity in the business, customer service of Holly who answered questions from me over 3 weeks. After seeing several installs of mitigation systems on various homes in our neighborhood, I genuinely believe that they would do a great job. I am so glad I went with my gut and picked Radon Safety. The work was aesthetically pleasing (something I care about) nice and neat including the PVC, caulking, etc. I am confident that they will take care of any issues should any should come up.
