We used Bill Rafferty for stoning our driveway in spring of 2024. He did not show up when he said he would and then showed up in the rain at night, which surprised us. When he was finished, we paid him for the job only to realize within a few days that we had more water at the end of the driveway then before he started. He guaranteed us he would come back and fix it. It has now been six months. We have contacted him numerous times, saying that he will fix it, but he has never come back. He used our Mayor in our small town as a reference and said he did work for our town. Beware of him and his company, he will take the money and run. read more

Excellent resurfacing job done by Rafferty Paving! Received an estimate yesterday and the job was done today! Driveway needed significant repairs at the end of the driveway and I'm very pleased with the end result! Rafferty's Paving was at my home within 7 mins after our phone conversation about getting an estimate for paving our 514' driveway. Then he gave an estimate right there, no waiting, loved that. The estimate was within our price range. And on top of that he said they could start tomorrow!!! That doesn't happen so yep, We have our newly paved driveway and the work was excellent! They came out right on schedule. Sam can a couple hours ahead of the crew to mark out the driveway where it needed to be cut. They were also careful of our Invisible Fence wire. The guys were professional and knew exactly what they were doing and they really took the time to do it right. They even put a "riser" under the water meter so it would be more level with the new asphalt. Sam also took the time to talk with us throughout the process to make sure that we understood what was going on. read more

We had Rafferty Paving out in late fall to get an estimate for a complete redo of our large driveway (I'm not kidding when I say it will soon be a GRAVEL driveway). We had recently had other companies out and were SO unimpressed with the tactics and sales pitches..."TODAY ONLY we can do it for 20% less..." etc., etc. We were just not comfortable with the knowledge OR the prices/warranty of these "professionals". They were always late, in shoddy vehicles, and had very little knowledge of drainage issues. But when Sam Jr. from Rafferty came out, he was ON TIME, in a shiny, well-kept vehicle (no fly-by-nighter here). He gave us a SUPER fair price, all itemized, with all of our drainage issues addressed, AND NO PRESSURE. He COULD have said there was time before the dead of winter to do the job, but he was honest and helpful.....and advised us to rearrange a shrub-bed before tackling the job, as it would better suit our growing family of teenage drivers. We will DEFINITELY be using Rafferty Paving (hopefully by the summer) when we have his suggestions complete. HIGHLY recommend thus far. Will certainly update later! read more

My daughter and son-in-law had a new driveway installed. The slope of the driveway was such that it drained to the front of the house as opposed to the side of the garage and into a ravine. Repeated attempts to have the owners contact them were unanswered. Once payment was received, they were unwilling to address any problems caused by inferior work. When the general contractor who built the house contacted them, they returned to the job site to do no more than argue with the owner about their lot choice, failure of the company to appropriately grade the site, etc. All issues except the slope of the driveway toward the center of the house were addressed. read more

Absolute rip-off. I trusted this company and he quoted me $9500 but discounted me to $8700 to widen my driveway with asphalt. He did not put the square footage into the contract. He said that the job would be done in a few weeks but showed up within 3 days to do the job. I guess he did not want to allow me any time to get other quotes. It turns out that the normal rate for this work is about $10 per square foot (per other quotes). I discovered that he put down about 550 square feet of asphalt so the job should have costed about $5500 to $6000. So he was $2700 higher than anyone else. He also charged $1000 to seal the driveway. I have since had quotes for that in the range of $600. If you look at other reviews, Mr. Rafferty did the same or tried to do the same to other people. I know that the rule is "let the buyer beware" but companies such as Rafferty Paving SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED to be on sites such as Home Advisor. I tried to appeal to Mr. Rafferty to get some of my money back but he ignores my emails. read more

March 2018 - Westminster, MD - Initial work on the pad they put in (20' x 20') was good. Nice clean job. The issues they caused with the paving equipment they brought out..not so much. The dump truck caused cracks in my driveway, making it worse looking that what they were supposed to fix. They had a small bobcat and why they just didn't get the asphalt from the truck and bring it to the paving location (about 10 yards) I will never know. It would have saved a lot of issues with truck damage. Ok, fast forward to December 2018. After promise, after promise to come out and fix it, they never fixed it. It looks worse now and now with the cracks winter will be horrible on my driveway. They were busy, then it was going to rain, then they were busy, over and over. It never got fixed and the driveway looks worse now. read more
