I have been shopping here for a long time and love the actual store. However, the new parking situation cost me $77 dollars. Buyer beware, make sure you validate your parking if you visit - the store clerks may or may not remind you. It's a new policy and the property manager does nothing to help you, even when you have proof that you shopped here and spent money. This is for Boulder Rags. I think it's the return policy. I bought a top for my daughter who did not care for it so I thought, gosh I'll reconsign it and maybe get 40%back. Called Rags Boulder where the said it would take four months to get an appointment to consign. What?? The tags were still on. I like Common Threads more and had a really nice experience at Rags Warehouse Boulder. The principal owner or manager there was fantastic, friendly, fun and helpful and the place was beautifully organized. read more

Anytime I'm in cherry creek neighborhood- I try and stop by Rags because you never know you could luck up on something really pretty, something really different, some bad kick butt shoes or boots, or a amazing hand bag and of all at a cheap price. Because even though Rags is a consignment store it's pricey! But I found some cool items today- a pretty black dress, some earrings and a creative piece of jewelry! I have been a customer of Rags consignment for years. Today I went into the store, and I saw a couple of items that I really liked. And I asked that they be put on hold. I happened to mention that it was my birthday and I was told that they gave a birthday discount, and I said great. Now mind you, I did not solicit this discount offer. The woman went to the front desk to find out what the discount was, and before she could find it, an older woman standing at the other cash register, said that the discount would be five dollars. Now the merchandise that I asked to be on hold was over $400. After thinking about it, I called the store back and asked to speak with the manager because I thought that five dollar discount was insulting. Particularly because I did not ask for a discount at all. When I called back, I spoke with the manager by the name of Jenny, who, instead of apologizing for the insulting discount, she said in a very chipper tone said "OK Ill put them back for you." I should say that I am black. I would strongly suggest to black women who like consignment shopping, find black owned shops. There is one on 13th avenue in Denver. There is another shop called Mercer place, while not black owned, they have always treated me well. read more

I started consigning at the Boulder store over 20 years ago and loved it. You went in, they reviewed your things, and that was it. Over time, the Cherry Creek store got more and more stringent about their consignment process and it's become more and more inconvenient. The last time I was there, I waited in line, they reviewed my things, then told me I had to come back in two hours, after they reviewed them. Seriously??? So, I'm done. Which is too bad; I know exactly what kinds of pieces they take, and I loved supporting a small business and the mission of repurposing nice clothing. Other than that, nice people, nice store. I used to love bringing my clothes to this place. Ever since the new change in making an appointment to Consign, it has been a complete nightmare. I have a standing alarm on my phone to check the website and the only times that ever pop up, maybe once a month, are during the day when I am at work. I used to make a standing trip every six weeks, now I haven't been able to find an appointment in over four months. I'm just about over it. You seriously can not get a better deal than Rags Consignment if you're buying items-- now if you are selling your items here I have no idea. I haven't sold anything here yet but might give it a swirl. The items here seem specially curated for the kind of clientele that lives in these parts-- most likely the rich but not famous peeps. As soon as I hit the jacket rack I was in Love City! Too many beautiful rare pieces to look at. I grabbed what I thought might fit and went right into the dressing room. Most of the items didn't fit but I found 2 pieces that were perfect for me. First beautiful piece was an XS J Crew royal blue jacket semi-coated texture at under $40. It would probably be a good wear in the rain-- when it rains. The other amazeAH-- balls was a super unique shirt-blouse by M Jacobs size 2 that fit me like a glove. It literally looked like it was never worn which-- good for me! And it was about $30 which seemed like a pretty darn good deal for that brand. I'd say the kids here know that they're doing when they buy the items they buy and know how to price things well. I've shopped and consigned here for years. They've never managed to get it together and act like a "real" business. It's sad, but not surprising, because none of the employees seem to understand how to receive feedback or do anything other than immediately get defensive. Many of the employees seem to lack training and experience and there is also a lack of consistency. I for one am very glad they are doing appointments now. I had stopped consigning for about the last two years because of the absurdity of their consignment "process" which is well detailed in other reviews. But the appointment system still needs some help. I had anappointment. They said it would take "about 15 minutes." Ittook 45 minutes. I brought approximately 25 items and they accepted about 75% of them. So, a lot less than the maximum that could be accepted in a single appointment (30 items). So please tell me why they say 15 minutes if it takes 45 to accept just 15-20 items? I said to them when I picked up my reject pile, you might not want to tell people appointments take 15 minutes when they can take 45. I said that managing expectations is important (obviously - if they told me it could take 45 minutes, at the beginning, then I'd be fine!) Their response was ridiculous and rude. They did not apologize, and clearly didn't "get it." One of them said "well we have to tell people a time frame" I didn't say this but thought to myself - NO SHIT, I was expressing that perhaps it needs to be more accurate and realistic to manage people's expectations. I tried to say it a different way (nicely, I work in retail too and there's nothing worse than bitchy entitled customers) but they didn't get it and I left feeling very frustrated and unheard. Nothing new or surprising based on all of my experiences at this store, but man, it's tiring. I've encountered some great employees here, and some terrible ones. Many with bad attitudes. The vibe, attitude, and service in a store comes from the top down. I don't have any hope anything will change at Rags but management should really consider how many bad experiences people are having and maybe do something about it. I'm personally glad I am about done clearing out my closet so I won't have to endure the consigning process anymore! read more

I love this store. I live in Fort Collins and make the drive a couple times a year just to shop at Rags. I love that I can find a nice dress for any occasion. It's hard to find party dresses in Fort Collins, especially a dress for a wedding or New Years. Thanks to all the consigners who consign their beautiful designer pieces. read more

WE LOVED THE RAGS LOCATION IN AUSTIN!!! Unfortunately it closed down because of Covid. This place was and IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! You will find the deals of the century and unique items that you've been looking for that you can't find. I will be flying in from Austin, Texas and I will definitely stop by both of your locations to do a little retail therapy-Lol. Downtown and in Boulder cause we miss you soooooo much in Austin. I do want to apologize for some of the other reviews I've read. Obviously the consignors don't know how to read their contracts and they definitely don't know how to listen, because I do remember you telling me everything when I started consigning. All and all, I shop all over the world people. France, Italy, The Sawgrass Expressway Outlets in South Florida......and I LOVE RAGS!!! It's one of the best places to shop. Picture it, you've previously spent a couple hundred dollars at the store, and go in to consign. The clothes I brought in were brand new clothes tags ON and others worn 1-2 times. I was told the tags on Abercrombie jeans that are sold out online as well as lululemon dance pants were not in season when it's SPRING. So so conflicting! The worst part was being told these items were dirty when that's just not true at all! She made it sound like I ran them through the mud when the truth is, they had never been worn! Very confused what season they were buying for since my Vince Camaro heals, (never worn), Nike blazers (worn x2) were all apparently out of season. read more

Call ahead.No matter what. I got here first thing Monday morning to ensure I could get a few things in for consignment review before their vague "full up" limit. An hour and 25 minutes after they'd opened, the consignment counter was closed. When I asked if it would be open at all today, I got "maybe open up later around 2:30". After driving 25 minutes one way, I will probably not give them a second chance and just go elsewhere. Or I will call ahead and then cross my fingers they don't arbitrarily close the counter in the thirty minutes it takes to get there. read more

Echoing the sentiments of previous reviewers-if you do not look a certain way, you will not be acknowledged, or worse, you might be profiled. My fiancée was testing out an e-bike next door and we were in athletic wear after a hike. Not one person acknowledged my presence in the time that I was in the store. I watched two store associates provide excellent service at separate times to one person who fits the neighborhood demographic. You desperately need to reevaluate your customer service strategy. This is a consignment shop, not Bergdorf Goodman. Outdated Lululemon and dusty Coach bags do not warrant the attitude. read more

You can say I have been to many consignment stores through the country, and of course in my state. When I was visiting Denver I visited Rags Consignments. They had a decent selection of items in their Cherry Creek location. What I can say for sure though is I won't be visiting again! The employees were discriminatory, and just really rude for no reason. I purchased over $1,000 on the three times I went in. I knew what they were doing, but I played dumb and didn't care, as I make in a month what these employees make in two years. So it wasn't a factor, but for anyone else that isn't blonde hair and blue eyed, they will definitely treat you differently. It's is so wrong and should be addressed!!!! read more

I used to like this shop but they've made it so difficult to consign that I'll have to find another. The consignment counter has reduced hours and is closed some days; making it difficult to come during their minimal acceptance window. Not only that, it's so backed up, they can't help you for at least 30 minutes, during which time you're instructed to wait in the store. Why? You have my number, you can call me or text me when it's ready to pick up. Y'all need a better system. Furthermore it seems like staff is mad that you're there trying to consign in the first place - not friendly. Time to find somewhere new. read more

Consigned with them for a few years, never an issue: reasonable enough pricing (even with 60/40 split) and they actually took items (current designers and brands). This time, out of the bag full of high end designer items in nearly perfect condition (RL black label, akris, cashmere, Narciso Rodriguez, Carolina Herrera, Tods) ---- they took 3. I'm not sure how this change came about, but the fact that they stopped focusing on better brands is reflected throughout the store. While waiting, I browsed around. I agree with another reviewer....the items available in the store are in "style of more mature women's clothing" and brands represented are generic lower level brands. Pricing is also off, there was a pair of Tods flats in a reasonable condition listed at $56, but a pair of old style Kate Spade heels was listed at $58. It is hard to justify spending time standing in the consignment line when the store currently changed direction to lower quality brands and stopped taking reasonable high quality items. read more

I have been shopping/buying/selling at Rags for years but hesitated to write a review before now--mainly because often the sales people were not particularly welcoming. (Very hit or miss.) The clothes have always been consistently great but the staff has often been a huge turn off for me. Well, I'm not sure if it is a new(er) staff but the last few times that I have gone in, the entire staff has been wonderful--super friendly, helpful and kind (even when they are not accepting your clothes.) Plus, there has been a nice selection of different sizes. (Not just extra small-- as well as some great men's clothes now.) Keep up the great work. It has been noticed. read more

I have been so disappointed, that this is second review I am posting. I was told that they have a lot of business and they don't care about how they treat foreigners or people of color. I never was contacted through Yelp by no means. I had called in and was told that the manager took 3 months off. So, basically they have no manager on duty ever??? Beware before attempting to partner with this store for any consignment items!!! I brought in a pair of Frye booties, obviously not a cheap item. Yes, when I left them with this store, I was given a piece of paper explaining the dates of which to check in and or call to pick up my items before being donated. However, a month had passed since then, including the holidays and I wasn't able to call WORST system that benefits ONLY the store, NOT the customer. I guess they expected me to make this my one and only priority for the month they had my shoes. They were donated without any kind of communication to me that my time to pick them up was approaching. Will never return to the store or recommend any customer bring their clothes to put on consignment here. Extremely disappointed in the customer service 'It was on the piece of paper we gave you a month ago' doesn't cut it for me. Call. Before. Donating. My. Valuable. Items. I found a Vince T-shirt for my husband, Agolde jeans for myself, and some metallic purple Schutz strappy sandals I plan to wear for my honeymoon in Hawaii. *** $$$-$$$$ *** My Money Rating If you have the money to spend on some unique, one of a kind pieces wether it be a handbag, some shoes or a party dress, this is a good place to give a look see. I didn't like however the looks from the staff at my friend and I as well as the associates behavior towards us while we shopped! They were overly attentive in my opinion, with just a dash of fake friendly! Yes my friend and I had on relaxed clothing and our hair was just up and messy with no makeup on, but I'm sorry, we are two very busy mothers who work very hard as Hair Stylists and moms and homemakers and we were just looking to have some nice "alone" time looking for something nice to treat ourselves after brunch! Immediately once I grabbed an article of clothing one of the ladies with an accent and dark hair who had been staring at me the entire time, rushed over to grab my item and say "let me just start a fitting room for you!" Ok here's the thing.... I worked retail for over 15 years and this is just a passive aggressive tactic to deter shoplifting (it can also encourage you to buy more but that wasn't what was happening here)!! I say do what you gotta do BUT there is a way to do it where you won't make the shoppers feel as though you are assuming they will steal! Maybe let me hold the garment for a while, look at it, ponder about it, maybe let me walk around a bit and grab another item... BE SURE I am shopping to buy and then offer to take the items off my hands so that it frees them up for me to grab more items! The more I grab to try on the more I potentially buy. You WANT me to take my time and look. Don't instead make me feel rushed and uncomfortable to the point where I don't really want to look anymore. I tried two items and only bought one.... the LOWER priced item! The lady mind you NEVER came back over to me to ask if I liked the items or wanted her to put them back for me. No she just continued to lurk from a distance. So you'll put them in the fitting room but you won't put them back? That's when I decided... this lady is just rude and judgmental! See this is the thing, I'll give you some advice on selling! Women want to be told what to buy and encouraged on their shopping trip. Ignoring us or making us feel unwanted is not the way. Offer your help next time. Ask me what I'm hoping to find. If I had a specific event in mind? Color.... etc! Then help me build the looks and add them to a dressing room for me. Then let me know that you are available if I need an opinion or another option! Show me a jacket to pair with the blouse or dress. It's not that hard if you love your job, to treat your customers with dignity and have fun with them! We are talking about beautiful clothes.... shopping..... it should be FUN!!! Nope, no fun! Well.... I did have some fun thanks to my friend! We walked out with a pair of very comfy shoes for her to wear to work and I took home a vintage dolly dress and a navy blue leather bag! I will be back but I don't know how often and I have to say I will never come alone. I don't think I would feel welcomed or comfortable.... even if I was all decked out and dressed to the "9's"...... I went in with a duffel of clothes and another of shoes. All clothes were dry cleaned, and folded nicely, as instructed. I put my bags on the counter, where three women who looked as though they would rather be ANYWHERE else, said they would call my name when they were finished going through my stuff. I browsed the store while waiting, and saw some seriously worn looking clothing and shoes that were also NOT gently worn... While "shopping," I mostly observed the employee "evaluating" my clothing. End result, they took two pairs of pants. The employee never even opened the bag of shoes before shoving it back to me. Aside from the friendly woman who welcomed me in, not a good experience. Also, when my items were returned to me, they were just shoved into the bag. read more

I've read some of the reviews where customers have sited being followed around by staff or associates offering to start a dressing room. OMG I love this! Not being followed per se but the attentiveness and taking clothes out of my hands so I don't have to carry them around. So to each their own. Do not consign here! I really wish I could give this place 0 stars. I took in two items to consign, one Burberry polo and one pair of black wedges. When I came in after the week long consignment period, I was told that both of my items had been stolen. I had a very funny feeling about it, as if that weren't actually the truth. All of a sudden, an employee states that she was buying the shoes, so lo and behold, they aren't stolen. That lead me to believe that the Burberry polo wasn't stolen, either. I was not compensated whatsoever for the "stolen" item either. Overall, a very poor experience as a seller, and will obviously not return as a buyer or a seller. UPDATE: I did receive a response, from the owner of the store. The response was curt and defensive, and there was no apology. Probably my favorite excerpt is: " One pair of shoes did sell, and unfortunately it does appear that one Burberry Brit shirt went missing, which is an incredibly unfortunate reality that all retail stores have to face on occasion. While our contract does state that we are not responsible for stolen items, we do our very best to make sure that all consignors are treated respectfully and that items are well taken care of." I particularly enjoyed the part where the shirt "went missing" and then that they are "not responsible for stolen items." Long story short, consign here at your own risk. read more

They have cute stuff and decent prices but they mark items up from the original price. I bought a wool sweater jacket for $58.75. When I got out to my car I noticed another sticker below the top one. I peeled it back thinking it was marked down but it was marked up from $45.75. I contemplated not saying anything but I was annoyed so I went back in thinking they would apologize and reimburse me the difference. Both the girls I talked to didn't seem to care and refused any sort of compensation or apology. They just said 'We do that sometimes.' I was impressed with this consignment store. I shop at several around town, in fact it is the only way I shop these days and have an excellent rotation of very well made high end items because i shop at consignment only for the most part. I loved how it was decorated... very charming and cute, and SUPER clean and tidy. Very well organized. I was impressed with how well thought out the store is as far as charm and organization goes. Also the manager was super nice and attentive. Not snobby like a lot of staff at other consignment stores are (you know what I mean!) The selection was great and there was a nice range. It is not only high end, They also have nice pieces that are affordable as well. They had some good JCrew Ann Taylor etc for example, and I got an awesome Elizabeth and James for under $20. They have a good athletics rack also. I got a Lululemon full zip up for $40. Also I consigned there and the took MOST of my items which is pretty rare. I would say the brand range is mid to high brand. So it is a good place to consign, way better than some other places in Central Denver who I have noticed have become super super picky. I would recommend Rags for both consignment and shopping. Expect some good deals. I have not been to the other locations so can not say how they are but the Cherry Creek North one is great. read more
