I really want to like this place but the ladies that have cut my hair each time were definitely opinionated in their belief system so when you are having a conversation it can go downhill if you disagree at any point and then it just seems awkward from then on. This comment is directed to Doug C. Wake up and smell the coffee buddy!!! The barbers might easily assume you were an appointment. Had you been a first time appointment the barber would not even know what you look like. Or maybe you might be waiting as an appointment for one of the other barbers! How would they know that. So, you get your panties in a wad because you waited only to be told they take appointments!?!? Best thing to do when walking into a shop where you have never been, is ask the barber nearest the door, whether you need an appointment, or will someone be able to accept a walk-in patron. Most definitely do not recommend this place. Apparently it is by appointment only... I guess they could have told me that or had a sign up before I sat in the shop for 30 minutes. As I'm walking out, there is literally nobody else in the shop except three barbers. But they told me the next appointment is not until 400. It's 1240 right now. Again, maybe someone could've pointed that out to me when I walked in a little after 12? Unbelievable waste of my time. You guys will never see me again and I will be glad to tell anyone and everyone about my bad experience. read more

Came here only because it was near my in-laws. Christopher Minick. Exceptionally professional. Keen eye for detail. Was very clear in communicating before the cut so that he fully understood what I wanted and took time to ask questions to fill in the blanks. Razor shave on the back of the neck, warm towel, and trimmed down my eyebrows. An equivalent haircut back home runs me $65+tip. Thank you Chris. So this didn't start off as smooth as planned. I had a 12:30 with Arianna. So I am sitting int the waiting area and at 12:40 the receptionist says she is running late I'm like cool. Than. 12:50 she calls me back. Now after spending my time in the chair I understand the reason for the delay. The young lady is a perfectionist. I been getting my hair cut for at least 40 years and you can tell the body language of a barber. They have a sequence when they are done. I probably felt she was done at least three time. If she found a hair that didn't look right or a line didn't look even she would make it right. So now I found some one who can manage to make my beard look great. So I definitely will be back So why the four stars? I'm guessing that is more me than anything. The Pace was clean and-people were friendly. Maybe after I become a regular the little coldness I felt will go away. read more

I walked in for my first haircut in over a decade (at least, not done at home with a razor) and I didn't know what I wanted. How would I know? The barber gave me great advice though, and I felt good about the cut I got. After the first view, I asked for it a little shorter, and he had no problem adjusting it to suit. While the exterior has a classic railway station look, the interior is clean, fresh and modern without looking all "hair salon". The barber was young enough to have an idea for modern style, but old enough that it didn't seem like his first gig. Most barber shops seem full of staff who retired a decade ago. Finally, they take credit. I hate withdrawing cash because I'm getting my hair cut by a place that hasn't changed in thirty years, so, rock on. It's just slightly more expensive than other nearby barbershops, but it seemed worth it to me. read more

Railway Barbershop is by far the best place for a haircut. Not only are the barbers great, the hours are too. They're open every day from 9-6 and I've seen them stay as long as it takes after hours to ensure every customer is take care of. An after hours cut carries a surcharge of $4, some may complain but it's only fair, if I work OT I want to be compensated for it too! Railway has the true feel of the neighborhood barbershop you see in the movies. They take the time to chat with customers both in the chair and on the bench. You won't get that at a lot of places. They're all passionate about their customers and what they do too, and the results show it. I used to go home after a haircut and have to fix mistakes that were visible and drove me nuts. I have been getting my haircut from Megan about a year now. She is very friendly and extremely nice. She always does and excellent job. I have gotten the ear and nose waxing the last few times and that is really appreciated! I really like going to this place but today as I was pulling in to a handicap spot and straightening my car out.......A white pick up truck came out of nowhere and as I was backing up almost hit me and caused me to move my car forward and hit the handicap sign. One of the barbers (not sure who it was) came out to look and see if the sign was damaged (which it wasn't) and went back in. I guess it didn't matter about me. I guess I'm thinking about if I want to do business with them anymore. I like the way Megan gives me haircuts. Just after today rethinking where I want to spend my money. read more

Over priced! Went for a beard trim he barley took anything off... I had a full Kurt Russell tombstone stach asked for a very little trim on it, He carved away at it and made it look like his stach. I could also tell I wasn't getting the "regular customer" treatment, I'll never go back or will I refer anyone to them!!! Originally started going here but the haircuts the last few times has not been that great! It was a great place about two years ago. The blending was mediocre, and that's from two different guys giving me a haircut. Last time I went in all I heard from the barber was how he had to leave early making me feel like my haircut was rushed! I also have had issue having my appointment confirmed! read more

People are nice and all , and it's very quick and easy to make an appointment but the major downside is they never give me a line up so I'm left looking like I just got a cut from an amateur . I don't know if they think because I'm a lesbian I don't want a lineup or if white people just don't get line ups but it'd be cool to get my neck cleaned up and everything else lined up but they all seem to have a difficult time cutting my hair because I'm mixed and it's curly or they just prefer cutting straight hair . I've been going to Railway for over 7 months now and haven't looked back. LOVE this place! Kevin, the owner and lead barber cut my hair up until my last few visits and has always done a fantastic job. On my last visit I decided to try the whole nine yards and get my beard done for the first time by the new guy Tom. I was nervous because I'm very picky and only Kevin cut my hair up until that point but I decided to give him a chance. He did an awesome job which proved to me that Railway has the best barbers in town and you will be happy no matter which chair you end up in. Today when I went back Tom was my barber again and I asked him to do a few extra things on my beard and he had no problem doing so. If you guys want something extra done or something differently then don't be afraid to ask. I hate when people go to a place of business and complain about something but never asked for what they wanted. It drives me crazy. I haven't heard of this happening here but I just wanted to express the importance of communicating with your barber! They're amazing and I know what they're capable of but can only do what you ask of them so don't be afraid to ask. I asked for a few extra things today by just communicating what I think I would like and I left very happy. Tom's razor game is sick!!! He's a beast!! I never looked this crispy! I'm giving this place five stars because you get a quality haircut, which is what you really need to be confident about when trying a new place. The pricing isn't great ($16 per cut) for a barbershop, but it's competitively priced for the area. You have to pay for quality sometimes and these guys do a good job. They also run through the extras that a lot of places have dropped in recent years. Warm towels and razor neck shave. Little things can justify a bit pricier cut. If you go for a buzz cut, you can probably get away with a Best Cuts trim. If you want a professional cut, this place will give it to you. read more

My first time here was great but the second time not so much, I arrived around 5:15 and there were two people in front of me, and they both took almost an hour, because the barbers took their time cutting their friends hair it seems, so I had to pay the after 6 price which was 20 which I wasn't happy about, and the barber took a break to eat his food and came back smelling of cigarettes and that wasn't fair for me, if you are going to have a job, act professional and don't take a break while a customer is in the chair waiting for his hair cut, it was rude and unprofessional, I love Railway Barbershop, but it really surprised me on how rude and irritating they can be, it was so stupid for me to have to pay the 20 dollars, When I got there at 5:15! I didn't get out until 6:40! That was awful, please step your game up guys, I want to come back, but if that's what it's like, then I don't think I will.. read more
