The life guards were very attentive. We got the upgraded Deluxe Cabana and it turned out to be a great idea when an impromptu rainstorm rolled in. It included some really nice, embroidered towels as souvenirs. The food choices were sparse and exorbitantly expensive, just like inside Cedar Point, but getting the food pass at Shores would limit you mostly to pizza, Cuban sandwich, and a taco. Several of the slides were out of commission which is really the reason for the 3/5 score here.

Lost another star cause it's cashless....I bring cash on vacation so we don't overspend and so servers don't get their tips taxed. We were luckier than most people reading other reviews, all the rides were open. Also disappointed they didn't stay open longer on the 4th so you could enjoy fireworks from the wave pool. Would have been nice. Lost the 3rd star cause when they closed we were told it would be faster to walk all the way through Cedar point to get to the car. I asked how many shuttles they had and he said 7....I laughed and had to walk all the way to the car then come get the family.....that took about an hour.

(They warn you in the station you'll get completely soaked in case you're daft enough not to notice this with your two eyes.) Snake River Falls is short and sweet and just what the doctor ordered on a blazing hot summer day. It's kind of hard to screw up a log flume ride, unless of course you're Intamin. (Oooo, too soon?) There's also an observation bridge where you can just about as wet as if you actually rode the ride. And if you wanna air dry off a bit Skyhawk is a few steps away. Or you can spend $5 to stand in an air drying booth to undo what you just did. A curious waste of money to me unless you feel a strong hankering to ride Snake River Falls on a day that's just not hot enough to ride Snake River Falls. Well, that wraps up my Cedar Point series. Hopefully, that wasn't my last trip to the Point and at some point I will be back on Yelp reviewing future thrills as yet unseen.

Also the prices at the gift shop are out of this world. Insane. The Lego set my grandson wanted was more than twice what it cost on Amazon. It was $29.99 in the kalahari store. On Amazon it was regularl 14.99 but on sale for 11.99. That is robbery. I wouldnt have bought it but my DIL had picked it out with my grandson, thinking it was $15 , as the other ones she was looking at were. Perhaps it was priced wrong. The room we booked was a 2 bedroom 2 bathroom suite with patio door to outside seating area. It was super spacious, clean and comfortable. The parking is quite a distance from the front entrance so if you have trouble walking you should use valet or have someone else in your party drop you off before they park. Also if you have a wagon or are using hotel cart to bring in your luggage you have cant use the boardwalk because it has 2 sets of stairs. You have to go the long way around, the roadway that requires you to walk up an incline. You will get a good workout. The waterpark was good. The kids area was boring though. A bucket dumps water out occasionally but other than that you just walk up to different levels and then down again. Water comes down from above in some areas like a hard rain. The baby area has 4 swings and 2 little slides. It is a tiny area. We enjoyed the wave pool which has skylights above so it is bright. The other areas are kind of dark and gloomy. Overall it was a good trip. Was disappointed about the price gouging at the gift shop but I should have been more aware of what I was paying.

We contacted resort staff three separate times with serious concerns during our stay and saw no action taken--only empty apologies. That lack of response was extremely frustrating and made it feel like guest experience was not a priority. Going back to the room for a break didn't help. Our room faced a solid wall, did not have a fireplace as advertised, and we dealt with constant loud door slamming and wall pounding from nearby cleaning staff. It was not relaxing and made it difficult to rest. The conditions in the waterpark were also unacceptable. The lines for the water slides smelled strongly of urine, as if people were urinating while standing in line, which was extremely unpleasant and unhygienic. The wave pool was especially concerning. Chunks of concrete were breaking off the bottom of the pool, and I cut my foot on one of these pieces, about the size of a penny. There was concrete grit throughout the water, which was very unsafe - I gave chunks to the staff to emphasize my concerns. On top of all of this, everything was freezing cold. The wave pool water was freezing, the slide water was freezing, and the hot tubs were not hot at all despite hour-long wait lines with 40+ people. Even the indoor temperature felt cold. For the cost of this stay, none of this was acceptable. Overall, this experience was not worth what we paid and fell far below expectations.

The price for a family suit on a Wednesday with 4 passes to the water park is very reasonable. Upon arrival check in was simple and went pretty quickly. You are allowed to start your fun before the room is ready, which is good because the waterpark closes at 8 and opens at 10 am. You can also continue to play after check out. We found this very nice because you wouldn't get much time to play if not. Our room was ready early but our bands didn't open our room so they gave us new ones. The girls working were friendly and helped us sort it out quickly. We were disappointed to find hair in both of our beds. We called and requested fresh bedding because we wanted to get playing. They never came but they did give us a new room, also with hair on the sheets. Our cleaning person came in and we watched her replace the pillowcases with clean right off the cart and guess what? Still hair! This is a laundry issue but we were relieved to know it wasn't because our beds were dirty. This was our only negative issue. Our room was clean and spacious. The pull out sofa wasn't the most comfy but we were so wore out we slept well. The Waterpark wasn't very crowded and it was very fun for our boys! My grandson said he felt like a VIP and they will both remember this fun time. The workers keep a very good eye on things. We felt safe. There's a Dunkin Donuts in the lobby and you can order on an app which I recommend because I ordered at the kiosk and waited 30 mins for 2 coffees. ($9) I would recommend ordering ahead and pick it up when you get a text to save waiting too long. We brought in snacks and drinks to our room. We had a fridge but no microwave. Overall we all agree it was a great time and we will return. The kids loved everything and they said their review is "great"!

The kiosk check in process was a breeze, and I LOVE that water park wristbands double as room keys because it's one less thing to worry about losing. The onsite Dunkin offered good food at reasonable prices. The drinks were really good and felt like they justified their price because they were huge. The hotel rooms were very nice. The arcade was nice, and provided a good variety of games. The bad: Paying for parking is a huge turn-off. It's $20 per day just to park in an ordinary parking lot, which seems like an excessive charge that the resort knows it can get away with because people have to park. Strategies like that feel like they're trying to squeeze every nickel and dime out of patrons. The water park, itself, isn't great. There's two nice-sized tube slides and some very short body slides. The lazy river is also very short and filled with empty tubes in a way that feels claustrophobic. The hot tubs are nice. But it just doesn't feel like there's anything particularly exciting to do. Once you've been down the slides a few times and checked out the hot tubs, that's mostly it unless you're a little kid (there's a few activities that are geared for young kids). Overall: If you want a good resort experience, you can get it here. If you want a good water park experience, you've got much better options nearby.

The longest wait was to get into the parking lot, despite signs saying they were at capacity with the exception of online tickets. Everything was magnificent! They have lifejackets available. Bring your own chairs if you want a place to put your stuff and all the lawn chairs are taken. They have tubes to use for the wave pool and lazy River. Outside food is not allowed but I would recommend finding a way to bring it in because I would have purchased meals for my family at the concession stand but there were long lines all day and once it finally died down I realized why... they ran out of all the food-food (they still had bags of chips). If you're not going to allow outside food, you need to be able to accommodate guests! Yes, they allow you to leave and come back same-day but do I really want to get in my hot car where my skin sticks to the seats, while wearing a wet bathing suit just to find the closest fast food? No, not really. I would rather pack sandwiches and leave in the car or whatever. Plenty of people brought grills to set up outside the gates, so I would consider that in the future. There are so many awesome things about this place, that I look forward to returning next year!

The friend we were meeting is a local so she was able to get a reservation for the 11am-1pm time slot, which is apparently reserved for locals. It wasn't too crowded and was the perfect activity for a very hot summer day. My 6 year old was a bit fearful of the giant bucket of water that pours on your head at first, although by the end of the 2 hours he was standing under it welcoming it. My 9 year old and his friend jumped right in and couldn't get enough of all the slides and water fun. They were probably some of the older kids there, but still young enough to enjoy the fun. There's also a more babyish area to the side for younger kids who aren't into the slides and giant bucket. They also get 5 stars for cleanliness, including the bathrooms and changing rooms. I had to show out my coffee when we arrived since no food or drink is allowed inside the gate, but that's probably how they manage to keep it so clean. My sons are asking when we can go to Michigan just to go to this again so I can imagine if we were locals we would be there quite a bit.

The addition of water slides makes this splash pad the best in the area for older kids. There are changing areas, restrooms, several tables and benches in the shade for parents. Today, it is 93 degrees in the sun and I am really comfortable under the shade of a table. The time limit per session is 2 hours, which is really perfect. You can't bring in your own snacks/lunch, so any longer would be tough for my kiddo. We will be back for sure!
