This park was not even slightly on my radar but what a GREAT find for fun on a hot summer day. Pro-tip, buy your tickets and parking on-line. The day we came their internet was down so if you didn't have cash or buy tickets in advance you couldn't get in. The park was clean and well maintained and there's a ton of attractions to explore. This place was fantastic! The tip I got and would pass on is to purchase your tickets online. The longest wait was to get into the parking lot, despite signs saying they were at capacity with the exception of online tickets. Everything was magnificent! They have lifejackets available. Bring your own chairs if you want a place to put your stuff and all the lawn chairs are taken. They have tubes to use for the wave pool and lazy River. Outside food is not allowed but I would recommend finding a way to bring it in because I would have purchased meals for my family at the concession stand but there were long lines all day and once it finally died down I realized why... they ran out of all the food-food (they still had bags of chips). If you're not going to allow outside food, you need to be able to accommodate guests! Yes, they allow you to leave and come back same-day but do I really want to get in my hot car where my skin sticks to the seats, while wearing a wet bathing suit just to find the closest fast food? No, not really. I would rather pack sandwiches and leave in the car or whatever. Plenty of people brought grills to set up outside the gates, so I would consider that in the future. What a fantastic spot in Ypsi for the young and young at heart! We visited recently with several families for a day of relaxation and fun. It will undoubtedly become a favorite place for the summer now that we know about it. Ample parking, lots of large shade trees, and a clean water park with plenty of features for all ages make this a perfect spot to cool off on a hot summer day. Relax on the lazy river (tubes provided at the park), or let the wave pool carry you away. Take a turn on the large slides, or the little slides for little ones. A splash pad allows for cooling off without having to submerge, and there's even a water-free playground for those who want to stay dry but still have fun. Definitely buy tickets in advance because this place is popular, but it never felt over-crowded. We will look forward to our next trip to Rolling Hills! read more

Great family destination... There is something for everyone here! Three tall water slides! 2 intermediate slides and kiddie slide Wave pool Connected calm pool and waterfall Lazy River Shaded Playground Structure An excellent splash pad & slide for the small fries. We were impressed with the park's layout. Get there early if you want a chair, or a better bet is to bring your own! Or at least bring a blanket to lay on the grass. There are shady spots that are quite comfortable. Lockers are available for just $.50 for your phone, etc. The keys are on safety pins so they clip to your suit - perfect! The bathrooms have changing areas and showers. The whole park was well-designed and quite clean. The stairs on both slides smelled like urine at times (someone had an accident waiting?) and needed a good spray down, but everything else looked very clean. Check my pic for things you can and can't bring... It might not be what you expect! You don't need to bring tubes. They are all supplied, and that is a great plan. Covid restrictions cap park occupancy at about 600, approx 1/4 of reg full capacity (2,300). We really liked the "light" amount of people. You never had to wait long for anything! Tickets must be bought in advance online, and they sell out, so don't roll up day of or you'll be disappointed. The food court wasn't serving about 1/2 of their menu. The offerings were ok, but not particularly tempting to us. You can't bring your own food, so I'd recommend skipping the line and eating a packed lunch left in the car at one of the numerous picnic tables around the parking lot. Re-entry was a snap. This park is a wonderful find for a fun and affordable outing. You will need to pay or have a pass to enter the park (it was $10 for our car) at the gate in addition to your water park tickets. Amazing local resource. There is an extensive system of walking/running trails, and an extensive disc golf course. Summer months, they have a water park with a 2000 person capacity! There's an entrance fee, but they have discounts for local residents. read more

This waterpark is well spaced out with many attractions for all ages. The lines for slides kept moving and it wasn't overly crowded. The issue I have is they do not allow any outside food or drinks to be brought in (water bottle only) and on a hot, busy day they have one concession line open at prime lunch time. We had to wait an excessively long time just to order food. Spending over an hour of our day standing in line and then eating was completely unnecessary. If food is being " made to order" as the website says, then the concessions should be properly staffed to serve a large crowd. read more

Lets rate each aspect separately and we got 2 stars. Parking * Food * Play ** Price ***** Safety * 1 star being the worst. Parking: Dinosaurs stood in line at this place and went extinct. A single line for every thing. Even if you already paid for it, you still have to be in the line for 45 mins or more. Cant buy online. Your only option is to wait. Then they ask bunch of questions, your card gets charged, and you have to sign then they give a ticket. Good to go. Cool. 70 more cars to go. Before it is your turn. Food: Food is not allowed. Fruits are not allowed. If it is not baby food like formula or paste it is not allowed. It means, you will have to stand in the line for 1 hr for a single window. Wont let you bring or have good options or the supply meets the forced demand. Kids get super hungry and there is nothing you can do other than waiting. Play: Play is alright. The waves place got contaminated once. A guy threw up or did something nasty I dont know. Everyone evacuated. Other areas were good. I dont think I will ever go to the waves again. In any other water park. Kinds ruined the experience for me. Lazy river was super cold. Like straight out of the river cold. Price: Mostly super cheap. If you forgot to pack something you are on your own. They wont have anything that you are looking for. They will say they ran out. Then you have to go to meijers and waste 30 minutes, then wait another 45 mins in the car line and pretty much half day will be gone. Safety: I can forgive all of the above at least if the place is safe for my kids. SERIOUSLY DO NOT TAKE YOUR LITTLE KIDS THERE. Big kids were running everywhere violently, and even at the places designated for little kids. Guards are practically useless. They are just students. They said, "they wont listen to us and gave up". I big kid jumped on my little girl 3 times. There were more than 5 incidents where these violent big kids bumped and ran into little kids. It was very dangerous. No life jackets. I probably saw like 20-30 may be. In a place where at least 1000 plus people playing. Bring your own. Or else your little kid will have a very risky play time. Value: Either they lack vision, or modern approach, or they were just lazy and didnt care, or they were just some stubborn management who do not want to change things, or they were just too greedy. I dont get it. The whole place needs to go through a lot of changes. Would never ever go to such horrible place again!! Stay Away!! read more

A gem we've been missing out on! This place has a wave pool, lazy river, great playground and of course slides. The water park was very clean except the concession area. We opted to pack a lunch and have a picnic right outside the water park. You just need to get your hand stamped to get back in. I wish they offered a seasonal pass bc I would buy one. The lifeguards were great. Warmed my heart to see them help the little riders. Overall a great water park . Bummed I've missed so many Summers with my kids. read more

A solid 3.5 stars. It took us 30 minutes to get through the line to pay to get in. Buy your tickets in advance online and skip the line! We waited in line 40 minutes to get lunch. Skip the line by either bringing your own food (which you must leave in the car and sit outside the water park to eat where there are plenty of picnic tables and it's pleasantly quiet) OR go to the line for food on the OUTSIDE of the water park that serves the same food from the same building and has virtually no line and NO wait. Wish we'd known that before getting to the front of the long line. Also, if you want a lounge or regular chair, arrive when the park opens. It is thoughtful to only kee claim a chair for people who will actually use them, and perhaps grab an extra chair to hold everybody'his belongings while they're in the water so they can come back periodically. There are people who claim 4 chairs and never come back to them until they leave 3-5 hours after arriving, while other people are scrounging for somewhere to sit other than the grass. The kids didn't mind too much, but the water was COLD in all the pools and on the slides. The chairs likely never get cleaned, so throw a towel down before sitting down. There is a small dry land playscape sandwiched between the wave pool and sprayscape. There is something here for kids of all ages, with lifeguards galore, clean bathrooms, and shady spots under trees (if you arrive early enough to snag a coveted spot in the shade). Amazing waterpark with lots to offer and it's clean too! This water park features many different water slides, wave pool, waterfall, lots of little kid features, water climbing structure with dump bucket, and dry playground, etc. The have tons of seating, concessions, and large umbrellas on the grassy areas. The lifeguards and staff are educated, well trained, friendly, and diligent about the safety of the swimmers. We love it there! read more

I seriously can't think of one negative thing to say about this place. My husband and I were tipped off about this water park by Derek on Yelp. After checking the business photos, I was sold. Lazy river? Yep! Water slides? You bet. Wave pool? Absolutely. Now, if you want to come here, be prepared to open your wallet. It's $9 per car just to enter the main park (I suggest carpooling) and then about $10 per person to enter the water park. I'm okay with these prices because it cuts down on trashy riff-raff. Additionally, the use of tubes in the wave pool and on the slides is included in admission price. The lazy river is small but it's still relaxing on a hot summer day. The slides are a blast, too. Lawn chairs are plentiful, but I'd suggest getting there early to secure one, since most people hold them with their towels. The changing rooms were very clean. The pool water was clear and the employees were incredibly friendly. Of course we got hungry during our visit. You're not allowed to bring food inside the water park, but you can leave the park and picnic on the grass if you felt like bringing a cooler. We decided to follow our noses to the delicious grill and ordered a couple burgers. The prices were super-fair and having fresh-grilled burgz and dawgs was a nice touch. I have been coming to this water park for 25+ years and I absolutely love it! I finally brought my daughter there for the first time. We had a blast on the last day of 2019. I bought my ticket online the day before which was a lifesaver. Definitely a must if you want to get a lounge chair, or bring your own folding camp chairs. I must say, I was extremely impressed with the lifeguard staff and emergency staff. There was an accident involving a boy near the old slides and the lifeguards acted immediately and appropriately. I know the child wasn't breathing at first but I think those lifeguards saved that kids life. I will never forget that. To this day I won't know what happened but I do know, watching the staff, they ARE TRAINED WELL!!! Thank you rolling hills water park for making my childhood and my daughters time a safe and fun experience. I wish I could give a million stars :) read more

4 stars for this place!! Who knew it was even here! It's cheaper if you are a washtenaw county resident, but just a little more expensive if not $10 gets you in and it's $13 per person. The earlier you can go the better, we or here by 11:30 and almost didn't get a chair. It gets busier as the day goes on. You can bring your own food as long as you go outside the water park to consume it. I would suggest that as the food line is insanely long. Lots of lifeguards and lots of options for the kids. Water slides, wave pool, lazy river. The only thing hay would make this better is less people, but that's what you get at a public pool. read more

For 2021, the admission process has changed. They are limiting capacity, so you must get tickets in advance from their website. When you get there you still have to stand in line at the admissions booth where they track how many are coming it. Don't make my mistake and not account for any little ones that are small enough to get in free. Luckily they were not sold out today, so could get my two grandchildren on their capacity list. Can I give ZERO stars? This is for their 'Dog Swim' (aka 'Dog Dip') day. As one of the *first* Dog Swim participants Rolling Hills ever had (I have been going since the first year they ever did it), I have brought generations of well-behaved dogs here to give them money, have fun and close out the summer in a fun way. In fact, I deliberately skip going up north one last time in favor of coming to this park for their dog swim because I used to think it was 'THAT special.' I built a website specifically for advertising for it, for free, simply because of the joy that it once gave me. Today we checked in to the dog swim at 11:46 am, just before the next shift started. At 11:50 am, the entire group that was there was told that the shift was over. Not us, right? Nope! Us, too! For proof, look at the time stamp on my pictures! I told the young people working at the gate that we 'just got here' and we got here at this time so we could sign in, buy some t-shirts to support them and be part of the next shift. Otherwise, why would they have even let us go in a few minutes before the shift time? If they were just going to make us leave right away? They told us 'no' that it was 'the rules' but we were 'welcome to go out and then come back in and PAY AGAIN.' 6 minutes after we got there?! Really unprofessional, Rolling Hills. A skanky industrial park pond full of Canada geese poop is much preferred to your dog swim arrangement anymore. Better yet, go where you will be treated fairly- at Buhr Park on the Wed and Thurs after Labor Day for their Dog Swim days. No more Rolling Hills for us- for anything! read more

Place is pretty chill, lazy river wave pool some fun slides and more. The park is clean and not too crowed, it's a decent deal only $9 for non residents and only $7 for Washtenaw residents. For me the place was worth the trip and sure beats red oaks w.p. cause it's not so crowded and way cleaner. read more

I enjoyed this park. I took my girls and a few friends for the first time this week. It was crowded even on a 75 degree day. But it was very clean and neat. We have been to many waterparks and this park is very organized and clean. There are many lifeguards and employees walking around to help. We are non resident so we paid $10 each to get in the waterpark as well as a $10 car fee to get into the park. I enjoyed the umbrellas they have throughout the waterpark for shade. The concession stands had very long lines but the prices are reasonable. Overall, I will be back and enjoy the experience!! read more

We were soooo excited to ride the water slides. My daughter is 39 inches tall and the website says she can sit on my lap on the smaller water slides. We get to the top and they tell us they changed the rules two years ago and anyone under 42 inches can not ride on a parents lap. Are you kidding me? We've been to frankenmuth and great wolf lodge and never had any issues. She was so disappointed. Better change your website ASAP. Plus the concession stand only had hot dogs. read more

Please be aware that if you are hoping to have dinner at the waterpark, concessions does not close 1 hour before park closing time, but closer to 1.5 hours. There is NO mention of this anywhere on the website or FB page. We got in line at 5:43 and were told they had already capped the line, and we wouldn't be able to eat. When we complained a manager then told us the grill was ALREADY closed so we could 'this one time' stay in line for only foods like chips or soft drinks. So even if we had gotten in line at 5:30 the grill would've already been closed by the time we reached the 1 open window. When we then discussed this with the park supervisor, he argued with us instead of listening to us. This is a matter of bad choices (why only 1 window open at dinner rush? why close the grill so early?), bad communication and horrible customer service. If you choose to close your concessions this early it needs to be well communicated. There is no excuse for the way the supervisor handled the situation. We won't be returning. Also, we intiially went on Sunday, waited in car 30 minutes to be finally told when we got to the entrance that the waterpark was already at full capacity. All in all we wasted 1.5 hours to not go to the waterpark with a car full of hot and unhappy kids. Worse yet, about halfway through the line there were employees 'directing traffic' that had no idea about the waterpark being full. They could have saved us and everyone else in line a lot of waiting for no reason. Communication is a big problem at Rolling Hills read more

We had fun for our first time but there were a couple downers. There was quite a few things floating in the water. It was a little too dirty for me but it was busy and it does happen. The line for the snack bar was down the sidewalk towards the front entrance of the park. It never seemed to lessen the whole time we were there. We actually left early because we couldn't get a snack. The staff was nice and plenty of things there to do. Not enough tubes to use there and people hogging them didn't help. The Michigan summer time fun continued today (Tuesday 8/13) with some more all natural Vitamin D!!! Highly recommend Washtenaw county's Rolling Hills water park!!! It will not likely be the biggest or fanciest water park you adventure through BUT according to credible Great Wolf Lodge goer kids... the waves in this wave pool are bigger and wavier, the slides are not too tall (scary) or small (embarrassingly babyish), and no one was ready to leave after being there a majority of the day's open hours when 6:40 p.m. rolled around. There is a new splash pad that opened this year, very reasonable family friendly prices comparitively speaking, and NO crazy crowds during today's weekday adventure. No more than a few minutes wait for concessions, kiddos got to go on the slides about 10 times in as many minutes, plenty of shade to make base camp, lots of lounge chairs in the sun next to all the water action, and there are several great options for ages 2 all the way to 12!!! #wellbeback #fivestars read more

The water park is well worth the money. Very clean and well kept. My complaint is the concessions. I've been to the water park twice this summer, and the concession stand has 3 windows, but only one has been open both times I went. Today I asked why is there only one window open, the cashier said we are short handed. I counted 6 people working behind the counter. One was just standing around , another was just wiping counters. My group waited 45 minutes in line. I think waiting on costumers is more important than wiping counters. Next time I go I will not eat there. read more

I have lived nearby for years and heard of this place but never gone. Can't believe how great it is and how much FUN you can have! We took some out of town guests and easily spent 4 hours there, leaving only because it was time for dinner! Something for EVERYONE, very clean and reasonably priced. Hints: - bring a big blanket so you can sit under shade of a tree (all the loungers are in the sun and are occupied pretty quickly) - the food court is surprisingly reasonable, don't worry about not being allowed to bring your own food! - bring goggles, would have been handy on a lot of the splashing areas - it's only 50cents renting a locker. So you can put your purse/keys/phone in there. read more

I have visited this water park since my girls were little they are now in their 30,s. My daughter and I took her son and my granddaughter and my teen son and his girlfriend. Now this is a county park so I know there's not mega money to spend on it but, to attract the older teens I think they need something a little more challenging. However, I guess that's one way of keeping some of the older teens that may not make it do family friendly away. A couple of things I noticed were the wave pool waves have been brought way down in velocity. This made it not so fun even for my young grandkids. We were stopped with our bag and asked to look through them. No problem except we had snacks (no glass) and they made us take them back. Rules are rules but, should be for everyone. Right after we were told to take our food back another group came in and bags were not checked and they had a ton of food. Now I understand you want us to buy from the concession stand and it is cheap but, to time consuming when you just wanted to visit after work from 5-7. This is another thing as I'm sure it was open later years ago. I think closing at 8 would open up more possibility of families eating their dinner at your concession. 2 hours is really not that much time to enjoy leisurely and sometimes working parents only have the evenings. This place is DISGUSTING. My family and I wanted to enjoy a hot day at the water park only to have it ruined by disgusting people and inconsiderate employees. We had went in the wave pool and saw a lady with LARGE sores all over her body that were bleeding. We saw her physically picking her scabs off. The place was packed and she was surrounded by so many people. After ONLY being there for 30 minutes, we quickly drove home to shower. After we got home, I had called and spoke to a few staff members and finally reached a supervisor, they had told me that someone had already notified them of the lady with the sores and that they had asked her if they were contagious. I had called again the next day to talk to another supervisor to see if they could offer a refund or voucher of some sort and they pretty much accused me of making it up even though I was told the day before that one of their employees had addressed the woman. I had a horrible experience here and it is totally unsanitary. read more

This water park has a lot to offer. Lots of slides, a pool, a wave pool, a splash pad and a lazy river, a lot to do here. However this park let me down because there was an incident where on one of the big slides a child was stuck and there was no reaction or activity from the (several) life guards on duty. It was the parents that had to go save their child to get them off the water slide while the life guards sat back and watched everything happen. One parent had to slide down the slide while the other parent literally climbed up the slide to reach their child. Thank goodness these parents knew what to do, otherwise who knows what would have happened to that child. And then later in the afternoon I was using a chair on the lawn for the better part of an hour when out of the blue one of the staff members came up to me to tell me the chairs were not allowed on the lawn. I mentioned to him, post a sign so people know. The prices are very high as well. I would have had more fun at a local pool or lake with my daughter. I am in 'no rush' to return to this water park. I don't like to go to pay money for entertainment just to be scolded by staff the majority of the time, and then when there was an incident when life guards were needed, NO ACTION was taken. Be very aware of your child while going here, know not to count on the life guards to help in any way if something were to happen to anyone during your visit. read more

Great place. Tipped off by our babysitter who was checking out options for kids. I agree with the other reviews about the quality. It was clean, the food service was good, and the guards seemed to keep everyone in line. I suggest going early. They opened at 11 from my memory, and we had the place to ourselves.
