Worst car wash ever!!! It didn't use to be like this. I went today and bought the basic wash, $10.00. That's all I needed. After driving through the very short wash tunnel, I noticed there was hardly any soap at all!! When finished I told the guy at the end of the wash that there was no soap. He asked me what wash I bought and I told him the "Basic" and he told me "that's why there was no soap and if I want soap I needed to purchase the $22.00 wash!! This is the worst car wash I've ever been to. Charlie's and Tidal Wave car washes are 100% better than Rainbow car wash!! Do not spend your money there!!! read more

First time here, I chose the Superwash that includes both Wheel & Tire Cleaner and Wheel Blaster, $11 on their website but actual charge was $13. The overall wash quality was about the same as other tunnel washes, decent. But, I had two issues with the end result. 1) After my car dried it had several solid white spots of soap residue. Never had this problem to any significant degree elsewhere. 2) The wheels didn't get as clean as other washes that don't feature Wheel Cleaner or Wheel Blast (see pics). The 10 mile one way drive seemed worthwhile to get the superior wash that many other reviews suggest but, I didn't find anything exceptional that would make the drive here worthwhile again. read more

Plenty of wash bays, clean facility, plenty of pressure while washing, and wands do a great job getting all that dirt, salt, and grime off my car. Prices are good as well, I can wash my car for less than alot of other car washes. They have an automatic wash bay, but since I'm old school and like to wash my car by hand, I can't comment on how well it cleans vehicles. Two change machines with one taking $20, $10, $5, and $1 bills, and the other taking $10, $5, and $1 bills giving you quarters. read more

My charcoal gray car looked like it had been peppered with pollen paintballs and bird poop. That burst of spring pollen and sparse rain made even me, the guy who almost never washes his car, realize that it was looking pretty rough and time for a cleaning. I could barely see out of the windows to get over there. I popped over to Rainbow Car Wash, a place I'd driven by countless times but never actually visited. When you pull in, you tell them what wash you'd like (priced $9-$14) and they give you an Armour All type rag to wipe your dash down. While it's an automated touch wash, they have people working to power wash it down as you wait in line. The wash is quick and the crew will wipe it down and dry it off. Make sure you've got some tipping cash before you go, and I have to say, while a few bucks more than I expected, my car looks pretty dang good. read more

I have a lifted jeep so I dont fit in all car washes. I thought I would give Rainbow car wash a shot and see. The guy at the kiosk when you pull in asked me right away if I had been there before and I said no. I asked if I was too big and he said he would ask for me. Another gentleman came out to check and said I was ok. As I drove around to the entrance and they double checked, I got the thumbs up. I was so glad they really took the time to make sure everything would work before sending me through. I was confident then that I was okay, as 3 of them made sure before hand. They spray your car by hand before you enter and pay attention to spots that are extra dirty and give them more attention which is nice. I also like that they had dry your car at the end. Most touchless car washes dont get all the crevices on my jeep very well and I always have areas that dont get washed. So I was glad with the hand spraying it got everything much better. They did a great job on my jeep, I will be back as this is the best car wash for my jeep I have found. read more

I've been to this place three times, and each time the staff is friendly enough. You pull up to the front little office, and the basic wash is $9, there are 4 types to choose from, but I get the basic. They give you an Armour All type of wipe for the inside of your vehicle. Then after pulling around the corner, there are two guys there to power wash it for you before you pull into the car wash itself. Once you pull through, there are a bunch of guys there to hand dry your vehicle. I like the individualized attention your vehicle gets, but because of this I always expect my vehicle to be cleaner than it ends up being when I'm finished. It's always clean, but I feel like it's been cleaner after other car washes. I keep coming back to this one because it is close to where I live - but it has yet to wow me. read more

Best car wash in the metro. The first thing about this wash is the fact that they have two attendants use light-power pressure nozzles to pre-wash the bumpers and wheels. This makes sense cause those are usually the parts that are more neglected in car wash machines. The machine it'self does a great job with getting dirt off. Probably one of the best that I know of. The best part is that after you pass through the dryer, there's a team of four to six people just waiting for you to move up to them, and they totally wipe the car down completely. So there's no need to worry about dry spots so much. Sadly, I'm not close enough to enjoy it regularly, but whenever i'm in the area and I need a wash, I make time for it. read more

I will drive 20 minutes away and bypass all other car washes just to come to this one. I know that sounds crazy, but let me tell you this car wash is top notch. It's one thing to see a line of dirty cars waiting to get a car wash, but it is another to see all high-end expensive cars waiting in line to get a car wash. I have seen everything from beamers to bentleys waiting in line to get a car wash. This particular car wash also has gas pump services available while you are waiting in line, you can fill up your car. They use a pre treater to loosen up all of the bug juices that accumulate on your vehicle then secure your vehicle with a rail & belt system that locks your front driver side tire in place. You are then taken through a series of cycles to wash your vehicle and then air dried followed by hand dried. This is the time to give a tip if you are going to give one. The vacuums are on the south side of the building and this is where it can get a little crazy. There are only two and the lot is small so you have to manuver very carefully if other vehicles are around. Make sure that you come from the north side of Rainbow blvd to turn right into the car wash. If you come from the south and there is a line you will be redirected to the back of the line because you will hold up traffic from the south when you are trying to make a left hand turn in front of oncoming traffic. The only down side to this car wash is that they don't have an interior service to clean up your car, but they do a very good job on the outside of it. Also, if you want to detail your car, just walk up to one of the guys and ask them for a couple of towels and they will let you borrow them, which is pretty cool I think. read more

The BEST hands down car wash I have ever been to. I was looking for a quick cheap car wash to get the salt off my Jeep and found this place. They thoroughly pre-washed (even getting my back window, if you have a Jeep you know struggle,) then wiped down after the dryer. I tipped 50% it was so amazing! They even wiped down my window after I tipped! They could charge a lot more for such a great service!! (Especially when no one knows work let alone hard work today!) Bravo!!!! read more

Great car wash gives very clean results and has good clearcoat finish with Ray next option. The only negative is the price is quite high. The full month plan is the same cost as two washes so not sure where they came up with the pricing. It's cheaper to get a month of unlimited washes for $39.99 when a single wash cost $17 Plus the most high-end car washes provide free vacuum service this location does not it is only $.75 and very powerful. The benefit to the vacuum is the strength it is much stronger than most vacuums in the area. Only reason I didn't give it five stars is the price and lack of free vacuum at that high price. But the results are much better than average car wash you pay five dollars for. The rain X option is definitely worth the extra two dollars read more

I tried this place out due to the great reviews it's received and the reputation of its quality service -- I wanted to see what the buzz was about! To my dismay, I wasn't blown away or fascinated by this place as fellow Yelpers were. Being located on the corner of a busy street (rainbow blvd) is prime real estate for the business owner, but poses an inconvenience for customers and commuters -- right-hand lane moves slow as people are trying to get to the car wash, not necessarily stopped at the light, FYI. I did appreciate the Armour cleaning towel they give you after you purchase your car wash, have yet to experience a complimentary cleaning towel with any other car wash in the city -- cleaning towel comes with all car wash packages. The power washers being operated by two car wash operators is a nice touch and allows for more attention on cars that have spots of filth for them to focus on getting that cleaned off; On the contrary, my car wasn't evenly power washed, so the right side of my car (where a lot of the dirty spots were) was nice and clean, but the left side wasn't given the same amount of attention. There was a line forming, 5 cars behind me and this was at 5:40 p.m., so they are trying to get you in and out, or so it seems. Additionally, the traffic is accumulating on the street, so I'm sure they are trying to help remedy that by getting you in and out as quickly as possible. Once you've put your car in neutral and gone through the robotics part of the car wash, which takes a few seconds to add soap, shiner and then rinse your car, another nice touch is the fact that they have 3 people that hand dry your car with towels. I will say that during the end of the car wash, when I had the three guys drying my car, that the rear end of my car and bumper weren't given any attention too, which is kind of a bummer. Lastly, you're on a pulley system while your car is in neutral, when you're going through the car wash and while the guys are manually hand wiping your car dry. There isn't a red/green light system implemented that tells you when to switch from neutral to drive. With that being said and it being my first time, one of the hand drying operators kept hitting the back of my car, I'm assuming to tell me to go?, yet one of the hand drying operators was still drying my car. I tried to roll my window down to figure out what it is I was being instructed to do, and to give them a tip, while the same guy that banged on the back of my car proceeded to tell me "to get out and go". Again, they were getting busy and I understand that, but, to me, that's the downside of this place being as tiny as it is and located on a busy street -- lower customer service can subsequently be the result of speediness. Overall, it's an above average car wash with a few personal, unique features that gives this place a charming appeal. I would like to go back and give this place another shot in the future. read more

This is my go to car wash. They use pressure washers before you actually go into the automated part so they can ensure they actually get all of the bug guts and dirt on my wheels off. Although you are going through the drive-thru, it gets the car cleaned and then there are about three people waiting for you at the end to towel-dry it off. I love my new shine! So I have been coming here for the past 18 years. I have never once looked at my receipt. I did today. I asked for "the $11 car wash". He wrote and "S" on my car and brings my receipt. The receipt says $16 xtreme. I stop and ask the gentleman spraying the cars "will I get the Xtreme wash I paid for or the supreme that it says on my car. He walks back to the guy selling the washes & speaks to him. He comes up to my car and says "I probably gave you someone else's receipt. " I showed him my card matches the card on the receipt. He then asks me if I want my $4 back (it would be $5) and I said it was fine- just so as I get what I paid for. I won't be back. No owning up to the mistake which makes me think it was intentional, no apology. No thank you. read more

I'm definitely a fan of this place for all of the same positives others have mentioned. They are fast and efficient and my car comes out sparkling clean. I really love the pre-wash and the guys drying it down at the end. Don't forget to tip at the end. You are going to feel like you won't have a chance but one of the guys will walk forward, tip them, and then they'll wipe your window dry again after you roll it back up. They give you a wet-wipe cloth to wipe down the inside dash while you're rollin' through and hand dry it as you're rollin out. Guys are always super nice, and also have vacuums if you need 'em. I have been coming to Rainbow Car Wash for the past 3 years since living in the area. Previously I would have been in total agreement with the 4 and 5 star reviews however over the past few months quality has dramatically decreased. After spending $16 for a wash that would be $10-$12 at other locations I still had to go home and wash my car in places that had been missed. My wheels didn't even look like they had been rinsed off much less cleaned, the under body (which I paid for) was still completely covered in dust and grime, and the brushes on the inside of the wash were barely moving. I typically wash my car once a week so there is no reason for it to come out so poorly. After my last visit I will definitely be giving up the convenience of a close wash for somewhere with a higher quality operation. read more

This car wash is conveniently on my way home after work. I can pull in on the right and onto 47th street easily. They pre-wash, then car goes through the major wash, through the drying machines, and then 4-5 guys waiting to dry off the rest of the car. AND, prior to all that, they have gas pumps where they pump your gas for you!, which has definitely been a plus this winter. I love not having to get out of my car to pump gas. My car is gleaming when done and the team always deserve a tip. read more
